"Can you eat the Infinity Stones?" Kino asked.
"You have Infinity Stones too?" Galanata looked at Kino in surprise, then shook her head.
"No. My food source is planetary energy. The energy form of the stones is completely different. Otherwise, with Dad's strength, he would've already snatched one and wouldn't be wandering around the universe constantly looking for planets to devour."
"You're kind of a picky eater," Kino said with a headache.
"Picky? I've eaten underground alien bugs, bacteria, cosmic lifeforms—everything except humans! And you still call me picky? Just admit you can't feed me and let me go home!" Galanata snapped angrily. It had been hundreds of years, and people had called her all sorts of things—but it was the first time someone accused her of being picky.
"Calm down. Here, eat this," Pamela gently handed her some fruit, trying to soothe Galanata. Her beloved clearly wanted to keep Galanata around, so they couldn't let her leave.
"Thank you, you're really kind." Galanata grabbed the fruit and stuffed it into her mouth. Though the energy was small, it was enough to satisfy her cravings.
Xiye also went to prepare some grilled meat. While it wouldn't be enough to fill her, it could at least help with her hunger pangs.
Venom brought in some magma from hell.
Harley also brought some things—gems, a baseball bat, a chair...
It seemed Galanata, just to prove she wasn't picky, accepted everything. She ate the food directly and absorbed the rest by converting it into cosmic energy.
Kino realized that recruiting Galanata was going to be difficult.
To feed her, the food had to be a planet. But if it were a planet from the universe, she could get it herself—she wouldn't need him.
So then what? Find planets in the DC universe for her to eat?
No. That would be too evil.
It could stir up a lot of anger.
Planets... Kino frowned deeply, wracking his brain to find a way to satisfy Galanata's appetite without causing major trouble.
Wait...
"Can you eat a sun?" Kino asked.
"A sun? I can, but I won't. The sun is vital for maintaining the balance of an entire star system. Even my father wouldn't touch it," Galanata replied.
"I'm not talking about Earth's sun. I mean an artificial sun," Kino said.
"An artificial sun?!" Galanata's face lit up with surprise.
Kino opened a portal and stepped into the Demon Corporation, where he found Doctor Otto.
"Artificial sun? I'm sorry, young master. That project hasn't made any progress yet," Otto said.
"What's the bottleneck?" Kino asked.
"The issue lies in the containment materials and their resistance to high temperatures and radiation. Because nuclear fusion requires extremely high temperatures and pressure, no material on Earth can withstand it directly. So, our plan is to train Lorna to use magnetic force for containment in the future."
Otto (Doctor Octopus) explained helplessly and pulled up the artificial sun project documents.
Galanata browsed through the data.
"I must say, it's a fascinating idea. Unfortunately, not just on Earth—even in the universe, such a material doesn't exist. Magnetic containment is feasible, as you said. But as the pressure of your artificial sun increases, the magnetic force required must also increase. Unless you find an indestructible material, it will never stabilize," Galanata sighed.
Though still a prototype, if this invention succeeded, it could definitely satisfy her hunger.
"What if there's a metal that's practically indestructible?" Kino asked.
"Young master, do you mean Adamantium? We've tried it. It's not truly indestructible," Otto replied.
"No, I'm talking about N Metal."
Kino pulled out a whole box of N Metal. No risk, no reward.
"N Metal can allow the user to function in high-temperature environments like a sun without damage. It also has self-repair capabilities, making it nearly indestructible," Kino explained.
Hawkman's recorded failures were due to his gear being mixed with other metals.
Otto excitedly grabbed a chunk of the metal.
"Young master, if this metal truly has the properties you described, then the artificial sun project can absolutely succeed."
Galanata also picked up a piece.
"How can a metal like this even exist in the universe?"
Otto immediately began calling everyone. Such a historic moment needed witnesses.
After his calls, Otto looked back at the N Metal in awe.
"Next, we'll need to refine and shape this metal. That will take about three days."
"I'll do it. Give me half an hour," Galanata said.
Her armor unfolded, transforming into a massive furnace.
"Material reconfiguration and creation—this is a godlike ability," Otto said, overwhelmed by the surprises today.
Having just read the project requirements, Galanata quickly began crafting. The precision needed for the shell was down to 0.0000001 nanometers—and she nailed it.
Kino noticed half the metal was left. "Make another one."
One for Galanata to eat, one for himself.
Galanata nodded and resumed her work.
Dr. Banner's team was the first to arrive.
"Otto, did you discover a new metal formula?" Banner asked urgently.
The artificial sun project was far too important. If successful, Earth's resource usage could last humanity ten billion years.
They were confident they could usher Earth into the interstellar era within a decade.
"It was the young master. He brought a brand new type of metal," Otto explained excitedly, outlining the metal's properties.
Everyone looked thrilled.
They all believed in the young master. If he said it would work, it would.
"I'll prepare the instruments," Otto said, not wasting a second.
"I'll get the elements ready," said Banner.
"I'll check the Demon Tower's energy systems," said Hank McCoy (Beast).
"I'll run the simulation programs," said Killian.
"Then I guess... I don't have anything to do," muttered Connors (Lizard), disappointed. In the end, he helped Otto.
They weren't just speeding up the process—they wanted their names in history.
Though they had already earned a place in scientific history, assisting in launching a new era was a whole different level.
Galanata focused entirely on shaping the metal, ensuring perfection in every detail.
Though she didn't quite believe the metal could withstand the temperature and pressure of a sun, it still represented hope.
Hope of being full.
Before long, Tony Stark arrived, flying in with his Iron Man suit. His faceplate slid open.
Among those present, other than Kino and his harem, there was only one stranger.
Otto, who had called him, was nowhere to be seen.
"Kino, where's Otto?"
"He's preparing instruments and the required elements for the experiment."
"I'll go help."
Clearly, Tony shared the same thoughts as Banner and the others.
"No need. Banner, Hank, Killian, Connors—they're already on it. There's no space left for you."
"Then I might consider buying a building nearby... Is this the metal that can withstand an artificial sun? You really do have a lot of good stuff on you," Tony said, shaking his head with slight regret as he looked at the constantly reshaping metal in front of Galanata.
Can she control metal like Lorna? A mutant with similar abilities?
"This is all I've got. This metal is extremely rare. If not for her, I wouldn't have been willing to part with it," Kino replied, his heart aching.
(Note: Tony's solar ring energy cannot be recharged, and its output is nothing compared to a real artificial sun.)
Quote of the Chapter:
"To feed a cosmic hunger, one must offer not a planet—but a star born by human hands."
