Chino returned to Hell, cradling his newly acquired treasures.
"What a huge haul, what a huge haul…" he hummed a cheerful tune as he walked toward the palace.
Of course, he knew Lucifer wouldn't gift these items without a hidden agenda. Still, it didn't change the fact that Lucifer had been quite generous—good things were genuinely gifted.
The most valuable among them were the Celestial Puppets and the Hell Dimension itself.
Next were the three Green Lantern Rings and the Soul Gem.
The rings had no energy in them currently—he'd need to find a Green Lantern battery to activate them.
As for the Soul Gem, its power was to manipulate souls—something Chino already possessed after becoming a Demon King. Still, it could be kept as a collectible or used as a backup in case a certain purple potato snapped his fingers again.
Upon returning to the palace, he found Venom, Xi, Pamela, and Harley all present.
"Chino, where were you? And where did you get all these treasures?" Venom asked curiously.
"They're gifts from big boss Lucifer," Chino replied as he placed the items on a nearby table.
Clatter!
The women gathered around, intrigued.
"Lil' Chichi, this thing looks so cool!" Harley exclaimed, lifting a menacing greatsword. She injected it with magical energy, causing it to erupt in flames.
From its design, the sword matched Harley's Sabak transformation quite well.
"If you like it, it's yours. Go ahead and pick anything useful," Chino said.
After all, treasures only held value when put to proper use.
Xi picked up a pen—it could answer questions she wrote, making it perfect for office work.
Pamela chose some enchanted twigs, hoping to plant them.
"Huh? A figurine? Lucifer gave you this too?" Venom asked, picking up a small, soft figure.
"She said she… found it on the road?" Chino scratched his head. He had been too focused on the coin explosion at the time to remember clearly.
"It's squishy," Venom poked the figurine.
"Let me take a look."
Chino became interested. Back in his previous life, he had collected many figurines, but this was the first time he'd seen a soft one.
He took the figurine, which wore a purple suit of armor, and gave it a gentle squeeze. It was indeed soft to the touch.
He sniffed it—no strange smell, and it even had a faint fragrance.
He looked underneath—it was purple there too.
"Can the armor come off…?"
Chino began to study the figurine's outfit.
"My dear…""Young Master…"
Xi and Pamela exchanged helpless glances. He was inspecting a figurine's clothes right in front of them.
"Lil' Chichi, are you that thirsty? Want your crazy little Harley to help you out?" Harley teased.
"I'm not thinking about that! I'm just curious. Figurines this detailed would've gone for five figures in my old world," Chino explained honestly.
Venom stared at the figurine, as if something clicked in his mind.
"Chino, doesn't this figure look kinda familiar?"
"…Yeah, now that you mention it."
Chino examined it more carefully. Most of his Marvel knowledge came from movies; he only knew bits and pieces from the comics. But he still remembered some major characters: The Living Tribunal, OAA, OBA, the Five Cosmic Entities…
"Galactus!"
Chino suddenly realized it.
The helmet design was identical to Galactus—the planet devourer.
Just then, something on the figurine was accidentally triggered, and it emitted a flash of light.
A beautiful girl appeared in Chino's arms.
"So hungry, ah—!" she bit into Chino's finger.
"Ow! Hey, I'm not food!"
Chino yanked his hand back.
"Food!" she shouted again.
The girl lunged at him.
Chino dodged quickly.
She seemed so hungry she could barely think, chasing Chino while completely ignoring Venom and the others.
"Hahaha! Run faster, Chichi! She's gonna catch you!" Harley laughed and egged him on.
"Come on now—here, take this."
Chino pulled out a crate of Eternal Stone Ore.
If this girl had anything to do with Galactus, normal food definitely wouldn't satisfy her.
Faced with the choice between a stationary, low-energy meal and a moving, high-energy one, she quickly made her decision.
She grabbed the box and her armor transformed to reveal several devices. The machinery absorbed the ore, converting it into cosmic energy—even while she chased Chino.
"You're doing this on purpose!" Chino cried, throwing out another box.
The girl silently caught it and kept pursuing.
The others simply watched. If Chino were really in danger, he would've fought back already. Clearly, he was playing.
After Chino had thrown out about half of his Eternal Stone stockpile, the girl finally stopped. Floating mid-air, she patted her stomach.
"Phew, finally not hungry. I'll forgive you this time. You poked me, sniffed me, and even tried to strip me. Total pervert!"
Chino awkwardly rubbed his nose. That was why he let her chase him without resisting.
"You can really eat! You finished all that ore?" Harley observed her curiously.
"I didn't mean to. I've never felt full before. Even those ores only make me temporarily full. I'll be hungry again soon," the girl said, frustrated.
"That's so sad…" Harley sympathized. Always being hungry sounded like a cruel torment.
"My dear was in the wrong earlier. Who are you? And how did you end up as a figurine?" Pamela asked kindly, seeing the girl meant no harm.
"My name is Galanetta. While protecting Earth, I encountered a strange creature full of energy. I wanted to taste her, but she turned me into a figurine instead. No food, no drink—I almost starved to death."
Galanetta looked incredibly aggrieved, the trauma of unending hunger still fresh in her mind.
"Damn, another death-defying lunatic," Chino muttered.
"What's your relationship to Galactus?" Venom asked.
"He's my dad. But I don't like him. He eats with no self-control."
"Wait… did you say you met Lucifer on Earth?" Chino suddenly asked.
"Yup. You know that god?"
Galanetta nodded.
"…"
Chino and Venom exchanged glances. Lucifer's on Earth?
"What do you plan to do next?" Chino asked.
"Return to Earth. Find food," Galanetta replied, rubbing her stomach. Though she had eaten, she didn't know how long it would last.
"How about working for me?" Chino offered.
She was Galactus's daughter, which meant her strength was at least single-universe level. If he could keep her well-fed, she might even reach half-multiverse level.
Plus, it was a buy-one-get-one deal—through Galanetta, he might be able to contact Galactus himself.
"Will I get fed?" she asked, considering the offer. The energy in his ores was rich—if she could stay fed, working for him wasn't out of the question.
Unlike her father, Galanetta was kind-hearted.
Even while suffering from endless hunger, she never harmed Earth's humans or animals—she only hunted aliens and invaders to curb her hunger.
"Uh…"
Chino hesitated.
Feeding a young Galactus was… quite the challenge.
Still, not impossible.
Tony Stark's arc reactors—if mass-produced—might satisfy her dietary needs.
But eventually, she would eat him bankrupt.
Hell energy could also be used… but that was out of the question. Hell was far too important to sacrifice.
Quote of the Chapter:
"The hunger of a cosmic soul cannot be sated by mortal means—it must be met with purpose, not pity."
