Chapter 48 - Chapter 48

Old Man: Kid, you think youd be willing to part with the Golem you got?

Cashew was caught off guard by the question, he looked at the Old Man.

Cashew: You want my Golem?

Old Man: Yeah, I don't know what your situation is, but I'm sure that Golem would be more beneficial to the village, we don't have many young people anymore and we could use some help.

Cashew wanted to decline, but considering that he came here wanting to buy their tools, he feels hypocritical just saying "No".

Cashew: Id be willing to Negotiate. But I'm not willing to hand it over and call it quits.

The Old Man Laughed.

Old Man: Of course, of course. I'm not suggesting you hand it over. I may not be good with magic, but I know enough to know it recognizes you as it's master and would probably attack me if I try something.

Cashew: Ok... I'll start. If I let this village borrow my Wood Golem, I'd get a small portion of any Iron that it mines. Id need to see how much Iron Ore you actually get out of there before I give any specific numbers.

Old Man: The mine doesn't pull out any consistent numbers, sometimes we get a lot, sometimes we get very little. We only got 1 Mine Cart and normally, we can fill it up 3 time within a days work, but sometimes we get less, sometimes we get more.

Cashew: I see... 5%. 5% of the Mine Cart goes to me, and I'll let you use the Golem. I'll even come by every 5-6 days to refill its Mana for you... Actually, id probably have to come by every day to collect the Iron, so I might as well refill its Mana every day.

The Old Man was surprised at the number.

Old Man: Don't you think that's excessive? That's an awful lot of Iron that you'd be taking, can you even use it?

Cashew: I have a Fortress now. Plus I can make Golems. I'm also worried about a city trying to kill me. Id need iron to make weapons and shields for them. As well as my own tools.

Old Man: Kid. If Krok-Magar City decides to try and kill you, no amount of Golems will protect you. If it was Clorilwood, then sure. You might be able to, but Krok-Magar? You want stand a chance.

Cashew: Krok-Magar? That's the cities name?

Old Man: Yeah, it means "Last-Stand City". If Clorilwood falls, that city is the last line of defense should Drembord invade.

Cashew: I thought Clorilwood was the last line of defense?

Old Man: It is, But Clorilwood wasn't intended for war originally. Clorilwood was built before Drembord started fighting us, and before, it was just a Village intended for Cutting down Cloril trees. Krok-Magar was built later just in case Clorilwood falls. It was built about 1,700 years ago and the war started almost 2,000 years ago. Clorilwood was around before then.

Cashew: I see... Well, Can you lead me to the Handsaw so I can have my Golem cut the wood into planks?

The Old Man realized they have been talking too much and lead Cashew to the Handsaw, It took about 20 minutes, but the Golem was able to cut the tree into wooden planks about 20 Centimeters thick and 5 meters tall. There was about 16 planks of wood total, plus Excess wood that Cashew would decide what to do with later. The Old Man winced at how wasteful it was, but didn't say anything.

Cashew Opened his Orbs Pocket Dimension and started putting the planks and excess wood into the Pocket Dimension. The planks were too long, but the Wood Golems was able to angle them in a way to fit. The Old Man also brought the other things Cashew bought, Nails, Nails that can pierce stone, hinges, Door reinforcement and a map.

Cashew thanked the Old Man and left, saying he would let the village decide if my conditions were fair regarding borrowing a Wood Golem, then come back at a later date.

Heading back to his Fortress, Cashew thought about everything that was said, thinking the Mining Village could be a good source of income for him. As well as thinking about what the Old Man said, about if Krok-Magar really wanted to destroy him, he couldn't stop it.

Cashew: I was really lazy these past few years. I was more invested in obtaining Crystals that I didn't focus too much on training my spells and studying magic harder. I guess Clorilwood wasn't too big a threat for me to worry about.

Finally reaching his Fortress, the Wood Golems were able to clear all of the Rubble and were now mining into the Mountain for more stone. The courtyard was filled with 2 meters long and 1 meter thick stone blocks,

In even more of a hurry, Cashew got two Stone Golems and started ordering them to move the Stone blocks to fill in one of the holes in the wall. He chose the Hole that was visible from the road leading to the fortress, on the Right of the gate.

Cashew Ordered the Golems to place the Stone blocks like stairs, due to how big they are, it would be difficult to lift them up once the blocks were 3 Blocks high.

While the Stone Golems did that, Cashew then started working on the door, it was gonna be a double door.

Cashew: Dammit. I forgot a Hammer!... It's fine, I can use a Rock or something as a hammer.

Opening his portal, the Wooden planks and the Excess wood were removed, and Cashew started building his door.

30 minutes later and the door was built, it just needed the Hinges and to be placed up, at this point, the Stone Golems were out of stone blocks. The1 hole was filled up enough to keep people from being able to walk in and the other hole only had 1 later of blocks down.

The Wood Golems mining into the mountain were building up a stockpile of stone, but it was barely worth acknowledging now, so Cashew installed the hinges, Accidentally smashing his fingers along the way, and had the idle Wood Golems and a Single Stone Golem help him install the door, Wood Golems holding it in place while the Stone Golem would force the nails into the stone.

It was finally done and the place was almost repaired. All Cashew had to do was wait for more Stone Blocks and he'd have the entire Wall fixed.

Cashew: Hm... While waiting, I should go in and see if I can salvage the Core of that 1 Stone Golem that was destroyed.

Cashew then went inside and approached the Frozen remains of a Stone Golem. It was a unnamed Golem, Billie Nelson was the only one he named. The Golems Core seemed fine on the surface, but if it was truely fine, it would have rebuilt itself by now.

He caressed the Core of the Stone Golem, feeling its condition and trying to figure out if it can be saved.

Cashew: The Core itself doesn't seem damaged. I should be able to.

Realizing that he can save the Golem, Cashew also realized that his two pickaxe wielding Golems ard occupied.

Cashew: *Sigh* I'll salvage this guy when the walls are fixed completely.

Looking for something else to do, Cashews eyes fell back on the bodies that he had. He approached them and realized he could continue looting them.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew heard a strange noise, he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, though.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew was looking around trying to figure out where it was coming from, but then his eyes landed on one of the bodies.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: ...

Cashew was currently looking at the body of the Jolly Sex Offender. The fat one that he saw watching a woman being violated in an alleyway of Clorilwood. Thinking back, that guy always has his hand in his pants, no matter the situation. Even now, the mans skull is caved in, yet his hand is still in his pants doing the thing.

Cashew: ...

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: You're dead.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: Stop it. You died however many days ago.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: You're dead. How are you still moving?!

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew was rubbing the bridge of his nose in annoyance*

Cashew: How much time did you spend Masturbating where even in death, your hand is still doing it?!

*Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: Stop it.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: Do I need to cut your arm off?

*Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew: Stop it.

*Fap Fap Fap Fap Fap*

Cashew was now annoyed. Even more so than 5 seconds ago. He pulled a Dagger out and started sawing off the Fapping arm.

After the arm was severed, it was still moving, which Confused Cashew even more, but it wasn't in its pants anymore, which was good enough.

Getting back to looting the bodies, Cashew realized that none of them had anything of worth. There was the damaged Orb, which, after some studying, It diesnt even have a Pocket Dimension, the previous owner seemed to only use it as a Glorified Mana Crystal, and there was the book on Necromancy, but it's contents were more or less the same as the book the one woman gave him.

Cashew: These bodies don't even have coin on them... What a waste.

Cashew looked at the bodies, contemplating what to do with them. He hadn't thought much about Necromancy and whether it's worth it, so he decided to keep the bodies until he could decide.

Cashew: So indecisive... Oh yeah! I forgot that 1 guy had a Book on defensive magic.

The book was really short, it took Cashew no more than 10 minutes to read the entire thing, and it gave Cashew some things to think about.

Cashew: Defensive spells get stronger the more you use them and they absorb damage... I feel like this is similar to an RPG video game from my old life... Let's go try something, then!

Cashew Rushed outside, the Wood Golems had a somewhat large pile of stone from mining, so he ordered the one Stone Golem to start turning it into blocks to finish the wall. There was only enough for 2 blocks, though.

Cashew Called over Billie Nelson and raised a Magical Barrier around himself, he then Ordered it to start hitting the Barrier.

It shattered after 2 hits. Cashew raised another one and ordered Billie Nelson to hit it again, and again, it shattered in 2 hits.

Cashew: Of course this won't be easy...

Cashew spent an hour ordering Billie Nelson to keep hitting his Magical Barrier, but right when he was about to give up, the next Barrier took 3 hits to break.

Cashew: Improvement!

He looked around, the Wall was almost finished, it only needed about 5 more blocks before it was completed, but it was already completed enough to keep people out.

For 16 hours. 16 Hours Cashew spent having Billie Nelson hit his Barrier non stop. But in 16 hours, it only improved enough to take 5 hits before Shattering.

Cashew: This is long... Why is it taking so long?...

Meanwhile, Back in Krok-Magar, within the city lords mansion. The City Lord sat on the edge of a bed, Alice was in the bed asleep, healing from all the physical trauma she suffered while she was kidnapped.

The City Lord looked at a Butler in the room with him.

City Lord: Reginald. Has the Young Man arrived yet?

Reginald: No, sir. The City Guards also claim to not have seen him either.

City Lord: What is taking him so long? How can I thank him for saving my daughter if he won't come?
