"What are we going to do?" Carlos asked with a soft voice.
"We have to wait," Dr. Morgan replied, placing a reassuring hand on Carlos's shoulder. "She will be fine."
Inside the ward, Elisa lay on a bed stirring back to consciousness, her mind felt like a hazy dreamscape. All that was familiar seemed distant, obscured like a memory dissolved in mist.
The faces of her brothers, filled with fervent yearning, and an ache of longing, swirled before her yet she couldn't recognize them.
Elisa blinked, confusion washing over her. She gazed at the three brothers, who stood in a semi-circle, their eyes pinched with both relief and worry. To her, they were strangers she had never met before.
"Wh... who are you?" she whispered, her voice fragile. The brothers' joy was suddenly eclipsed by a chilling silence. Was it possible that she truly did not recognize them?
