Cassius dined till his heart's content, savoring the delicious food and drink. Isabelle, on the other hand, was curiously looking at him, her red eyes sparkling with interest. After Cassius finished eating, Isabelle asked him directly, "You know what I am, right?"
Cassius nodded, his expression serious. "Yes," he replied.
Isabelle's expression turned somber and she said "I've not come across your kind for a long time. My father... he told me to stay away from your kind."
She further added, "Your kind's blood has a bad addiction... our kind. It turns us into savages."
Cassius said "Miss..." and stopped, he wanted to know how to address her.
"My name is Isabelle, but you can call me Belle" knowing what he wanted she said.
Cassius smiled back, feeling a bit more at ease. "Miss Belle, I'm Cassius," he replied. He continued, "You have helped me when I desperately needed help, and if someday, if there's anything you need help doing, just remember I owe you one. But for now, I got an important mission I must complete, I must leave soon."
But Isabelle's expression turned sad, and she said, "You can stay... for a few days, that's what I want."
Cassius smiled awkwardly, feeling a bit uncertain about what to do. "If that's what you want, but I'll still owe you one," he said.
Isabelle's smile returned, and she said, "Come, I'll take you to an interesting place."
Cassius walked behind Isabelle, wondering where she was taking him. They came to the west side of the castle, and Isabelle stopped in front of a big door. Although the door looked huge and unmoving in front of a small, petite girl, Isabelle opened it with quite ease.
The room was huge, and it was filled with books. There must be thousands of books inside. Cassius's eyes widened in amazement as he took in the sheer number of books.
Isabelle smiled, seeming to enjoy Cassius's reaction. "This is my favorite place in the castle," she said. "I've read almost all the books from A through H, now I'm reading the I section."
Cassius was overwhelmed by the sheer number of books. He thought for a moment, perhaps instead of wandering like a headless chicken searching for the villain Eryndor, he must first know all the details about the Netherworld.
Isabelle asked, "So what do you think? Do you like it?"
Cassius nodded, his expression serious. "It's beautiful, I like it very much," he replied.
Isabelle smiled, seeming to be pleased with Cassius's response. She walked further into the room, running her fingers over the spines of the books. "I've always loved reading," she said. "It's a way for me to escape the world, to learn new things, and to explore new ideas."
Cassius followed her, his eyes scanning the shelves. He saw books on magic, on history, on science, and on literature. There were books in every language, and books on every subject.
"I've never seen so many books in one place," Cassius said, his voice full of wonder.
Isabelle smiled. "I've been collecting them for years," she said. "I have a bit of a obsession with books, I'm afraid."
Cassius laughed. "I think it's a great obsession to have," he said.
Isabelle smiled, seeming to agree. "I think so too," she said. "Now, let's see if we can find something that interests you."
The Story of Forgotten Ravenswood:-
Ravenswood found himself in the nest of a monster bird, the size of the eggs almost equalled an adult human. He was frightened as he saw one of the eggs cracking. He had just come out of the portal and his body was unresponsive.
Ravenswood started cursing the King for putting him in this predicament, he further cursed Eryndor's bad luck for not leaving him alone even after he had crossed realms.
Ravenswood was also praying to God for help, he didn't want to die yet, he hadn't married yet, he had no kids, he wanted to live a long life.
Just as he was about to give up hope, a sloth demi-beast named Kairos appeared out of nowhere. Kairos was a gentle soul, with a heart of gold. He had been tasked by the monster bird, a Vulture, to take care of its nest when it was away.
Kairos saw Ravenswood lying in the nest, and his eyes widened in surprise. "Thank the evil Gods that I've found you in time," Kairos said, his voice filled with relief. "If the baby bird had come out of the egg, it would've eaten you."
Ravenswood's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Kairos. "Thank you, thank you, you're my saviour," he said, his voice shaking with emotion. Snots started coming out of his nose as he began to cry.
Kairos looked at Ravenswood with a mixture of surprise and suspicion. "What were you doing up there anyway?" he asked. "Did you come for the eggs?"
Ravenswood pleaded with Kairos, "No, don't get me wrong great Sir, I was thrown by that blasted portal, I couldn't even move." He looked up at Kairos with tears in his eyes, hoping that he would believe him.
Kairos looked at Ravenswood, and then nodded his head. "Alright, I believe you," he said. "After all, you don't look like a smart person." He smiled, and Ravenswood couldn't help but laugh at the joke.
"Let's go," Kairos said, as he picked up Ravenswood and started to climb down the tree.
Ravenswood nodded, still feeling a bit dazed from his ordeal. He was grateful to Kairos for saving his life, and he knew that he would never forget this kindness.
"Where are we going?" Ravenswood asked, his voice still shaking with emotion.
"We're going home," Kairos replied. "It's not far from here. You can rest there, and I'll take care of you until you're feeling better."
Ravenswood nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Kairos. He knew that he owed his life to this kind demi-beast, and he was determined to repay him somehow. As they walked, Ravenswood couldn't help but wonder what other dangers lay ahead, but for now, he was just grateful to be alive.
