"I'm sorry? Can you repeat that?"
Rayleigh was looking at Bram, who was sitting on the ground, healing.
"I want you to turn me into a null entity so I can help you learn to use The Alucard properly, and be a second option if you need to heal."
Uldess stepped forward. He looked like he was unsure if Bram was going to attack him.
"Bram, are you sure about this? Becoming a null entity means you will never be able to live like a human anymore."
Bram looked up at Uldess. His eyes looked tired.
"Look at me, Uldess, how long have you known me? I am tired, I have lived a long life, even before I started to use The Alucard. How old was I when I first used it, 150, 200, maybe even 300 years old. I have always escaped death, and this is my punishment, I just want to go to sleep and never wake up, I know I will never die so being turned into a null entity would be like me being reborn."
Uldess looked surprised to hear Bram saying this.
"I never knew you were depressed, I wish you would have told me sooner."
Bram let out a laugh, though Rayleigh could tell it was forced.
"HA! Who said anything about being depressed. It's like when you are tied after a long day, you just want to lie down and sleep, but you still have stuff you need to do."
Uldess sat down next to Bram.
"So, do you have any regrets? Anything you want me to do once you are gone?"
Bram lay back on the floor, looking up at the ceiling.
"I wish I spent more time with my family before I had to leave them before I became hungry for more knowledge and before I started to run from death."
Uldess put his head between his legs.
"I know. I can't even count the amount of times you would end up sobbing when we were drinking and you got drunk, and every time I would comfort you saying that, it was going to be fine, but even though I knew that it would never get better. You may accept it, but you will always feel like something is missing, and no matter how much stronger or smarter we get, it will not fill that space."
Uldess looed up at Rayleigh.
"Rayleigh can you and Alex go up to the shop and collect our stuff. Me and Bram are going to have one last dring before we come back up, and don't tell Veygra about Bram's decision. It would be best for Bram to tell him."
Rayleigh and Alex started to walk over to the stairway, but Bram spoke.
"Rayleigh, here. You earned it."
Bram, through The Alucard at Rayleigh, he caught it. He let his fingers run over the handles. It felt as if it was throbing, like it had a heartbeat. Rayleigh gave Bram a nod, and he and Alex continued to walk back up to the shop.
