Kate
What did I just hear?
"Wait. Let me calk you back. I think someone's at my door." Emily said.
Oh, shit! I quickly tiptoed back to my room, trying to not make a sound. My heart was beating frantically against my chest. If Emily had found me outside her bedroom, eavesdropping on her phone call conversation, that wouldn't have ended well.
Apparently, Kaiden is a big shot in the mafia world. He's the mafia don! What the heck?!
So, Derrick used to work for Kaiden before they had a massive fallout. Derrick thought that he'd be able to hide from Kaiden after failing to return the large sum of money he'd borrowed from him.
And so, to settle the score, this marriage arrangement came to be. I'm just the collateral in all this, until Derrick returns every dime of the millions he'd borrowed from Kaiden.
I paced back and forth my bedroom, deep in thought.
I need to do something to secure my spot in Kaiden's life. It'd be such a shame to get discarded when I've come this close to being a part of his life. I can't let this chance slip away from me.
Just thinking about the power and security I'll have just by being connected to Kaiden, 'the mafia don' makes me so happy.

This was my chance.
I fixed my lipstick before stepping put of the car. I instructed the driver to not wait for me. After all, I wouldn't be going home tonight. I smirked just thinking about it.
The Castillo night club was staring right back at me. The night club owned by Kaiden himself. The one one where not just anyone gained access to enter. Only the elite of the elite where welcome here.
The bouncer stopped me from entering. I smirked before telling him the password. He bowed his head in respect as he let me inside.
I was in awe with the interior. It screamed expensive on another level. People were dancing on the dance floor. It wasn't clouded like the night clubs I'm used to. This was different. It felt like I've stepped into a brand new world.
A bodyguard approached me. He directed me upstairs to the one and only VVIP lounge. There, on one of the couches, Kaiden was sipping on his drink with two other men seated on the other couches. I guess those were his friends.
Kaiden didn't even acknowledge me. In fact, no one did. It was suffocating, being in a room with three men who exuded an air of authority that scared the shit out me.
I had no choice but to swallow down my fear and approach Kaiden myself.
Suddenly, his cold eyes met mine. A shiver ran down my spine. I stopped in my tracks. He swirled his drink before speaking.
"Dance."
"What?" I was so confused.
His cold eyes hardened even more. "Dance for us. Make yourself useful."
I was speechless. I should dance? Me? But, that's what those girl escorts are for. Not me.
Was this Kaiden's plan? To embarass me in front of his friends?
"What? You don't want to?" His glare was enough to tell me that I shouldn't dare challenge his order.
"Play the music." One of his friends said to no one in particular.
The music started playing. I bit my lip in frustration. Was I really going to do this?
Just then, the door to the VVIP lounge opened. Three girl escorts proudly made their way to the three couches, each one sitting beside one of the three men.
I just wanted the ground to swallow me whole. I had no choice but to disregard my pride and start swaying my hips to the slow music that was playing in the background.
