The walls around Flain darkened even more than before, and cracks appeared on them from which green light shone. From the walls grew cobwebs on which crouched shadows in the silhouette of a spider.
Luckily, Flain was able to see in the dark—otherwise, he would have seen almost nothing. The green light from the cracks was very weak, and if he relied only on that, he would have been able to see just a few centimeters ahead.
Flain began walking through the labyrinth, intending to turn, but he ran into a wall that had appeared even though Flain had seen a passage there just a moment ago.
"Fuck," muttered Flain, trying to be as negative as possible on purpose.
He continued on. Ghosty probably hadn't found the core yet because he hadn't returned to Flain. Or he had given up and was intentionally causing Flain misfortune as revenge.
