DEEP SPACE FAR FROM EARTH -

The void of space stretched endlessly in every direction an ocean of silence and starlight. Out here, there was no up, no down… only the vacuum of deep space and the cold glow of distant suns.

Arthur floated in it like he belonged there. His shadow lantern uniform, dark as night itself, the faint violet patterns across its surface shifting as if alive. The ring on his finger pulsed with that uncanny hue, deep violet and black, as though it were drawing light inward instead of casting it out. A faint aura, the same color of his ring , coiled around his entire frame. His arms were folded loosely across his chest, his ashen white hair suspended weightlessly in the vacuum of space, eyes closed, utterly motionless, yet there was a tension beneath that calm, like a predator conserving its strength or simply waiting for the prey to arrive.

A short distance away, Kara floated beside him, her cape drifting lazily behind her in the zero gravity. She tilted her head toward him and said:

"You sure they're coming Arthur?" she asked, her tone hovering between curiosity and boredom.

Arthur didn't move or answer.

Kara sighed, spreading her arms wide with an exaggerated shrug. "Maybe it was just a false alert," she muttered..

"No," Arthur said flatly, eyes still closed. "They're coming."

That certainty in his voice, calm, unshakable made her frown a little. "Alright," she said, crossing her arms in mirror of his posture, "if you say so."

Arthur let a beat of silence pass before speaking again. "You know," he said without looking at her, "if you're getting bored, you can go back. I can take care of them on my own."

Kara snorted. "To what? Stopping purse snatchers and pulling cats out of trees? No thanks. This…" She gestured vaguely at the void around them. "This is more fun."

Arthur opened his eyes at that those eyes carrying that same unsettling violet glow as his ring and locked them on her. "This is serious, Kara," he said quietly, his tone low enough to demand her attention. "Keep your guard up, these Lan—"

He stopped. His gaze shifted past her, into the black distance.

Kara followed his line of sight, and at first, she saw nothing but darkness. Then, faintly, like the first flicker of dawn over a dead horizon, a green light began to emerge.

It grew steadily, more lights appearing one after another until the black of space ahead was studded with dozens no, hundreds of emerald flares, each one moving at great speed.

Arthur's lips curved, just barely, into a smile. "They're here."

Kara's eyes widened as the scale became clear. "Okay… that's a lot of Lanterns."

Arthur said nothing more. The smile remained, but it was not the smile of someone pleased it was the quiet, dangerous smile of someone who had been waiting for this sort of challenge.

his arms unfolded slowly, the violet aura around him flared in response, rippling outward in silent waves that distorted the starlight. His ring pulsed once, twice, before igniting with an intense, almost blinding glow, black and violet intertwining in a swirl that seemed to drink the very color from the distant stars.

Kara glanced sideways at him, catching the change in his eyes. Arthur raised his hand, palm open, ring pointed toward the approaching fleet. The motion carried a presence, that made the empty space around them feel suddenly smaller… tighter.

When he spoke, his voice was resonant and cold.

"Come forth."

The violet light surged at his command, blooming into something vast and formless behind him. It twisted and writhed like a living shadow even in the vacuum of space, the faint outlines of forms beginning to take shape within the haze.

Kara's fingers twitched at her sides, her gaze darting between the emerging shadow soldiers and the fast-approaching Lantern armada. Whatever was about to happen, she knew it wouldn't be small.

OA -

The emerald skies of Oa were in flames. Light, pure and raw, unrestrained tore through the air in every direction. Bolts of green clashed with streaks of deep crimson, each impact a sunburst in miniature, illuminating the sprawling chaos below. The once-orderly corridors around the Sciencells were now a battlefield, constructs shattering mid-form, fragments of willpower raining down like glass.

Freed prisoners, some creatures of nightmare, others twisted aliens from forgotten wars moved through the melee with predatory precision. Hulking beasts with hides thick enough to shrug off standard constructs rampaged alongside razor-winged fiends that darted through the air, slicing at Lantern constructs. And in the center of it all, rage-fueled Red Lanterns roared, their burning plasma spewing through the green with almost feral delight, all in the name of vengeance.

A veteran Lantern went down, his ring spiraling away into the storm. Another fell into the claws of a giant with molten eyes, his last scream lost in the roar of battle. Every remaining green lantern seemed to have answered the call, reinforcements streaked in from the horizon, forming phalanxes of light to push back the tide, but for every criminal subdued, two more surged forward.

Inside the high hall of the Guardians stood in tight formation, the green glow of the battle outside reflecting in their ancient, furrowed faces. The chamber itself vibrated faintly with the concussive force of the ongoing fight.

"This is unprecedented," one Guardian murmured, voice taut. "Containment has failed across multiple blocks."

Ganthet's gaze was fixed on the live projections flickering before them scenes of Lanterns locked in desperate combat, sectors of the Sciencells flickering offline. "It was no accident. This… was orchestrated."

Another Guardian turned sharply, addressing a ring-linked feed. "Report on Cell Omega-Seven. The prisoner Larfleeze... what is his status?"

The image shifted, showing a younger Lantern standing amid the wreckage of a control station, his chest rising and falling fast. His voice came ragged over the comms. "His cell… his cell is empty. There's no trace of him anywhere."

A heavy silence fell over the chamber. The hum of the projectors seemed louder, the green light colder. One of the Guardians swallowed, an involuntary, almost human gesture.

"This is bad…" another Guardian whispered, though their voice betrayed no conviction.

"And Scar?" Ganthet asked, though the weight in his tone suggested he already knew the answer.

The same Lantern shifted uneasily, glancing over his shoulder as a burst of crimson lit up the hall behind him. "No sign of her either, sir. She… she's gone."

The Guardians exchanged glances, no words, just the shared look of beings who had lived long enough to recognize when the tide had turned against them.

Ganthet's eyes narrowed, his voice dropping into something grim, almost pained. "Could it be…"

But he didn't finish the thought. Outside, a massive explosion tore through a segment of the Sciencells, and the whole chamber trembled with its force. The war of Oa was only beginning.

Arthur floated in the void with arms folded, his violet-glowing eyes fixed on the wall of emerald light before him. Kara hovered at his side. Behind them, stretching into the darkness, stood Arthur's endless phalanx of shadow lanterns, their forms wreathed in violet flame, each bearing the faint glimmer of his shadow ring. among them were former Yellow Lanterns and crimson-burning Red Lanterns, their rage and fear now shackled under his command.

To Arthur's right drifted Shadow Sinestro, the master of fear reborn in darkness, his expression carved into cold arrogance. To his left, Shadow Atrocitus, his massive frame emanating silent fury, the red glow of his past rage now swallowed by the deeper abyss of shadow.

Opposite them, an army of Green Lanterns spanned the void, a tide of emerald light that shimmered like a living wall. At their forefront floated Kilowog, his massive form braced in the weightless dark, his ring blazing with power. The two sides floated there for a moment in silence.

Kilowog moved forward, emerald aura glowing bright, his deep voice rumbling. "Surrender, Arthur Blackwynd of Earth, and you may still survive."

Arthur's lips curved into a slow, amused smirk.

"It seems last time wasn't enough for you or the Guardians."

Kilowog's tusked grin flashed in answer, fierce and unshaken.

"Don't get cocky. You caught us off guard on Oa, but this time's different. There is no force in this universe that can withstand the full might of the Green Lantern Corps."

The green army's rings pulsed in unison, constructs already forming blades, cannons, shields, and beasts wrought from willpower each one aimed directly at Arthur and his legion.

Arthur let out a long, almost bored sigh.

"… I guess nothing I say will stop you at this point."

His head tilted slightly, violet light surging behind his gaze as the void around him seemed to dim. The shadows behind him rippled like a living tide, his soldiers shifting forward as one. From his ring, a dark construct began to form, its size growing with each heartbeat, its presence blotting out the starlight.

Arthur's voice, low and resonant, carried across.

"Do your worst!"

The final syllable was like a spark to dry kindling.

Every ring, green, and shadow flared at once, and the darkness and light collided in an explosion that shattered the silence of space itself.
