Faith's POV
I tried to play it cool as I descended the stairs, but the second I saw Felix, my foot caught a step and I nearly face-planted.
There he was—leaning casually near the bottom, dressed in a sleek black suit that fit like sin. And then he smiled. Like, really smiled.
My breath caught.
I'd only seen that smile once before, and it had thrown me then, too. Something about it felt rare… almost like a secret he didn't share easily.
By the time I reached him, he'd stepped closer. His eyes softened, crinkling at the corners as he leaned in, his voice warm and low against my ear.
"You look stunning."
Heat rushed to my cheeks. I tried to play it off, but I knew I was blushing like a fool. It wasn't like I was trying to impress him. Not really.
Still... the way he said it, like it wasn't just about the dress—it made my chest flutter.
As we headed toward his car, I snuck a glance his way. "You don't look bad yourself," I mumbled.
