Chapter 395 - Chapter 47: Secrets

Strange azure candlelight flickered in eerie silence.

Rinjin and Sakumo locked eyes, both radiating barely contained excitement.

For these two, books held infinitely more value than any gold or silver treasure.

"Dog-bro, what's the call?"

"Is that even a question? We're cleaning house!" Sakumo declared without hesitation.

Then he frowned, shooting Rinjin a skeptical look.

"Bro, can you actually handle this many books?"

Rinjin's eye twitched in annoyance.

Who the hell was he underestimating?!

Did this guy think his Kamui dimension was some kind of joke?!

Grumbling under his breath, Rinjin slammed his palms together:

"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"

Massive clouds of white smoke erupted, revealing an army of shadow clones.

"Rinjins! Strip this place bare!"

The clones nodded as one, instantly swarming like ravenous locusts toward every bookshelf in the room.

Sakumo immediately shouldered past one of Rinjin's clones.

He'd been eyeing that collection of yellow-covered books on the far right—no way was he letting Rinjin snatch them first.

Suddenly, clones and Dog-bro were diving and weaving through the air in complete chaos.

Meanwhile, Rinjin strolled casually to the central table, hands buried in his pockets.

Several ancient scrolls with weathered brown surfaces lay scattered across the low table.

Settling cross-legged, Rinjin grabbed the nearest scroll.

This wordless document filled with crude drawings immediately captured his attention.

First image: A simple sketch of a horned woman standing atop a colossal monster.

Second image: The woman hurling a humanoid figure toward the beast.

Third image: The monster chewing, then spitting out a small, seed-like object.

Fourth image: The creature transforming into a towering tree with sprawling branches, the moon blazing overhead as daylight flooded the world.

The remaining pictures had deteriorated with age, becoming increasingly illegible.

Rinjin fell into contemplative silence.

Piecing together information from various sources, the entity lurking in his consciousness, and the seed from the third image,

he finally understood his true origins.

The Third Kazekage's kidnapped son.

The Jashin cult's karmic sacrifice.

A soul from another dimension.

These three elements formed the complete picture of his transmigration.

Without question, the monster in his consciousness space was the seed of a second Divine Tree—

a defective seed!

Long ago, Rinjin had noticed the creature only fought back viciously in two specific scenarios:

First—when its essence was being fragmented. It resisted with absolute fury.

Second—when it was being planted.

He vaguely recalled their first trip to Shikkotsu Forest with Tsunade. The monster had seized that opportunity to attack him with desperate violence,

indirectly causing his transformation into a massive tree.

When the creature realized that even tree-form offered no escape,

it simply fruited itself back into existence.

The pattern was crystal clear—this thing despised being planted!

Rinjin couldn't suppress his internal commentary:

What the actual hell!

A seed that refuses to be planted in soil—this bastard's got serious attitude problems!

If his theory was correct, the scroll's contents made perfect sense:

Ōtsutsuki Kaguya had sacrificed the monster seed to the Ten-Tails grown from another seed. The Ten-Tails gnawed on it endlessly before spitting the thing back out.

Based on the Death God's later revelations,

Jashin had most likely claimed the rejected seed.

Then he'd transmigrated into the corpse of the Third Kazekage's son during the Jashin cult's ritual.

Finally, Jashin crammed this piece-of-shit seed into his body.

Rinjin pursed his lips and muttered with mock sincerity:

"Thank you, Lord Jashin. Glory to my master!"

Immediately after, he mentally flipped off the damn Jashin and dove into the grand book-heist operation.

Thank my ass—if it weren't for those Jashin cult shitheads, I'd probably be living large in Hidden Sand Village right now!

As the ultimate example of "take everything that isn't nailed down," Rinjin embodied the philosophy of "even dog shit has value."

Books are precious—YOINK!

Those gilded bookshelves look expensive—YOINK!

This antique table perfectly matches my aesthetic—YOINK!

Damn, this floor's got a nice slippery finish—YOINK!

These wall bricks are clearly destined for me—YOINK!

EVERYTHING GOES!

Using Flying Thunder God markers and Kamui dimension portals, countless clones materialized and vanished in a sweating frenzy.

Within minutes, the magnificent library had been completely gutted by Rinjin and Sakumo.

Sakumo lovingly caressed his bulging equipment pouch, his weathered face beaming like a blooming flower.

"Rinjin, this raid was absolutely worth it!

I found a 300-year-old Warring States period 'Tale of Genji'!

Just from my quick peek, it's way steamier than my collector's edition!

Plus..."

Sakumo paused dramatically.

"Plus what?!" Rinjin demanded.

Sakumo's grin turned absolutely perverted, his eyes gleaming with mischievous light:

"It's the uncensored version~"

Rinjin's excitement spiked instantly, throwing a brotherly arm around Sakumo's shoulders:

"Dog-bro, you've gotta let me borrow that when we get back~"

"Absolutely~"

They shared knowing grins—no words necessary.

Perhaps their demolition had been too noisy. Just as Rinjin was chuckling while embracing Sakumo, the massive door creaked open a fraction.

A deathly pale girl's face materialized in the gap.

One bulging eye stared unblinkingly at them, showing more white than pupil, resembling a fresh corpse.

The tiny black iris trembled once before unleashing an ear-splitting shriek that shattered the silence.

Alarm bells immediately thundered throughout the castle, the entire structure trembling with their resonance.

"Fuck, we're blown! Time to bounce!" Sakumo roared, blade already singing from its sheath as he charged the doorway.

Rinjin matched his pace while barking orders to his remaining clones:

"Plant Flying Thunder God markers and fall back!

When the real fighting starts, resume demolition operations!"

"Roger!" The clones vanished into nothingness.

While clone chakra couldn't bridge the gap between moon and ninja world,

reaching Kamui dimension from anywhere was absolutely doable.

For Rinjin, every location he'd visited became permanent territory.

Following Dog-bro's lead, they exploded out of the massive chamber.

Silver blade-light flashed, and the puppet that failed to dodge got bisected at the waist, bloody entrails painting the floor.

Sakumo actually startled at his own handiwork, exclaiming:

"These puppets are made from real people?!"

"Sure looks that way."

Rinjin carefully navigated around the scattered organs, patting Sakumo's shoulder:

"Come on, Dog-bro, don't act so shocked!

You've killed plenty of actual humans—never seen you this rattled!"

Sakumo gritted his teeth and exhaled slowly.

How is this remotely the same?!

These were adorable puppets in Lolita dresses!

Rinjin, your otaku power level is pathetically low!
