Chapter 665 - Chapter 665: Preparing for a Long Journey

The information King Enma recounted covered a few main points.

First, King Enma said that the shinobi world wasn't a flat earth with a round sky, but a planet. Ino was speechless at this. Had she really sunk so low as to need a feudal relic to educate her on basic science? As if I needed you to tell me that!

King Enma also said there were countless planets like the shinobi world in the universe, along with many intelligent life forms vastly different from humans. Ino had no objection to this either. If the universe only contained the people of the shinobi world, where did the Otsutsuki clan come from? They couldn't have just popped out from under a rock, could they?

King Enma mentioned that he had once communicated with the Sage of Six Paths, pointing him toward a treasure that could grant any wish. Master Six Paths went searching for it, but whether he failed to find it or something else happened is unknown. After returning, he created the Box of Ultimate Bliss, which could fulfill any desire. After that, he became a recluse in the Netherworld and never went out again.

As for where this treasure was located, King Enma didn't know. However, he wasn't the only 'Yama' in the universe; there were many, many other life forms like him. He suggested that Ino could seek out his 'colleagues' and ask them, and while she was at it, find a way to help him escape his shackles.

As far as Ino was concerned, she had no desire to break King Enma's chains. They were just friends in name. Why would she actually help him escape, only to end up with some inexplicable superior looming over her? Don't be ridiculous.

Kaguya and Master Six Paths had kept this guy imprisoned for a reason, but she wasn't opposed to going 'out' to have a look.

More friends meant more options. Ino didn't care if this friend was from the world of the living or the world of the dead.

"Hmm, alright, I promise I'll go find the other Yamas... Huh? King Yama? Isn't that the same title? Okay, King Yama, I'll go ask King Yama, but how do I get there?" she agreed readily.

King Enma's withered hand emerged from his long sleeve. With a clenching and unclenching motion of his five fingers, a grid-like screen of light appeared before Ino. Every point of light on it was a Yama in charge of an underworld. The screen extended left, right, up, down, forward, and back without any visible end. Ino couldn't possibly calculate how many intelligent species or underworlds existed in the universe; the number was simply far, far too great.

King Enma tapped lightly on the screen of light, and Ino understood that this was their current location. Then, the prisoner swiped his hand into the distance. 'Swish, swish, swish'—after passing an unknown number of light points, enough time for Ino's heart to beat one hundred and fifty times, his finger finally stopped, pointing at a dot that looked a size larger than those around it.

This has to be intergalactic, right? Ino's expression turned troubled.

She now possessed Otsutsuki blood and had a long lifespan, but she estimated that even if she threw away all several hundred years of her life, she wouldn't be able to fly out of her current galaxy, let alone travel to a place so far away.

Several hundred years of my life, doing nothing, just to save King Enma? Am I really that noble?

"Old King, I don't really understand what unit of length you've just marked out, but I know it's definitely very far."

King Enma raised a hand, signaling for her not to worry. He lightly tapped their own light point and the large one in the distance, and the two points were soon connected by a line on the light grid.

Behind him, a pitch-black tunnel materialized out of thin air.

Even King Enma has wormhole technology these days? Ino peered into the tunnel; it was a deep abyss, and she couldn't see a thing.

This thing isn't dangerous, is it?

She didn't agree on the spot. She went back and thought about it for two days, and on the third day, she decided to go have a look.

The shinobi world was too small. Being a little tyrant in this pond was sufficient given her current strength, but what about the future? When that blasted Otsutsuki God descended in the future, what would she do? Lie down and wait for death?

"Where are you going? Is it dangerous?" Hinata, who was making clothes for little Himawari, asked with some concern upon hearing she was leaving for a long journey.

How should she explain this?

Was it far? Yes, quite far. Was it dangerous? It probably was, a little.

For a moment, Ino didn't know how to answer. She picked up little Himawari's tiny clothes and pants, looking them over. It had to be said, Hinata's hands were truly skillful. The clothes were stitched with fine, dense needlework and looked very cute and cartoonish.

Little Himawari crawled at her leg. "Aba, aba, pway, pway."

"Okay, okay, let's play together. Papa will perform a Water Release for you..." She had just raised her hand when Hinata slapped it down. Stop showing off your Water Release! The child is only a few months old, and you're performing Water Release? Is that appropriate?

Ino was utterly defeated.

She took out Samehada and, like Sun Wukong, pointed at the ninja sword. "Watch this, my precious daughter, I'll do a magic trick for you. Shrink, shrink, shrink!"

Samehada: "..."

A man under another's roof must bow his head, and the same goes for a ninja sword.

Samehada deeply missed its sworn brother, Kisame, but there was nothing it could do in the current situation. It could only shrink down bit by bit to the size of a palm and then flop back and forth on the tatami mat like a salted fish.

"Clap, clap!" Little Himawari was amused and clapped her hands enthusiastically.

"Pway, weally, fun!"

Ino then called for Tonton and had little Himawari ride him around the courtyard.

While their daughter was playing further away, Hinata asked again in a low voice, "Is it very dangerous? Does it have to do with Kaguya Otsutsuki?"

"There's some connection, but it's not a strong one..."

Hinata sighed softly. "Then you should go. The world outside needs you. It's just like with the Fifth Hokage; Lady Tsunade always complained a lot behind his back, but she still supported his actions."

"I'm not like Jiraiya. He was out fooling around; I'm always on official business."

Despite saying she was different from Jiraiya, as soon as she left Konoha, Ino went to find Karin.

The little fox had been created from Ino's own chakra. It was now over a year old, highly intelligent, and had incredibly lively eyes. It could already speak. The little thing always cried 'xiu xiu' when it wanted to be coddled, so Ino gave it the nickname Xiuxiu, and the full name Yamanaka Xiu! A name that sounded outstanding from the get-go.

She had always been fleecing her 'eldest daughter,' but now that there was no immediate crisis, she decided to give back. She fed all the Ten-Tails chakra from the Rainbow Light Fishing Rod to Xiuxiu. Perhaps the allure of the Ten-Tails chakra was too great, or perhaps it was due to the fox's young age and poor self-control, but Xiuxiu swallowed it all in one gulp. Growing dizzy, the little fox swayed as if drunk. Ino then entrusted Xiuxiu to her 'birth mother,' Karin, asking her to take good care of it.

Confident that her space-time abilities could help her avoid most dangers, Ino still prepared a backup plan before leaving.

That was the Otsutsuki clan's "Wedge".

When she had used the Mind God Transfer Jutsu against Kaguya, in addition to the memories regarding the God Tree, she had also haphazardly grabbed a large handful of other memories at the last moment. Among them was the method for using "Wedge," which could be considered a jutsu.
