The massive pillar of compressed air shot toward Articuno in the blink of an eye! It was far too late for Articuno to dodge—its only option was to fire off its Sheer Cold early to block it!
"Cryaaah!!"
A burst of overwhelming freezing energy blasted from Articuno's beak! It collided head-on with the air pillar—but to everyone's shock, Sheer Cold shattered the instant it touched the air pillar!
Without losing any of its momentum, the pillar swept across Articuno's body, sending Articuno crying out as it plunged toward the ocean. And the attack didn't stop—it continued roaring straight for Moltres!
"Latias! Use Mist Ball! Latios! Use Luster Purge!!"
"Ouu!!"
"Yaa!!"
As the beam was about to hit Moltres, Harribel reacted immediately. Latias wrapped itself in green mysterious energy and threw itself in front of Moltres, ready to endure Lugia's Aeroblast head-on!
At the same time, Latios gathered radiant power in its mouth and unleashed it in full force!
Boom!!
A thunderous crash rang out as Lugia's Aeroblast slammed into Latias's protective shroud!
"Yaa!!"
The moment they collided, Latias's barrier only lasted a fraction of a second before shattering! The Aeroblast then struck Latias directly, its force slamming Latias backward into Moltres behind it!
Boom!!
At that moment, another explosion erupted—this time, it was Lugia that was hit! Taking Latios's full-powered Luster Purge, Lugia let out a cry of pain and was blasted out of the vortex of flames. The Aeroblast ceased.
"Aerodactyl—catch Articuno! Zapdos! Catch Moltres and Latias!"
"Latios! You go too!"
Seeing the three Pokemon falling from the sky, Liam quickly commanded his uninjured Zapdos and Aerodactyl to rescue them, while Harribel also ordered Latios to assist.
"Roar!!"
"Kreeeaaah!!"
"Ouu!!"
The three Pokemon swooped off. Aerodactyl stretched out its claws and grabbed Articuno before it hit the sea, while Zapdos and Latios each caught Moltres and Latias.
"Articuno! Are you alright? Use Roost right now to recover!"
"Cryaaah…"
Articuno was clearly severely injured—its body was streaked with wounds where the beam had struck. Weakly crying out, it lowered its head and began using Roost immediately. A cascade of green healing light surrounded it.
"Latias, how are you feeling? Is it bad? Use Recover! Latios, use Heal Pulse to help Latias and Moltres recover!"
Harribel's expression twisted with worry as she knelt beside the badly injured Latias. Latios moved in as well, releasing waves of Heal Pulse to accelerate Latias's and Moltres's recovery.
Moltres had not taken heavy damage—most of the hit had been absorbed by Latias. It had only suffered the force of the impact.
So while Latios focused on healing, Moltres quickly regained its strength and shot back into the air, resuming its gathering of solar energy. A moment later, its beak opened—
A massive Solar Beam shot straight toward Lugia!
"Aaooo!!"
But the attack was once again useless. At Lugia's rising cry, a deep blue shield enveloped it. The Solar Beam crashed into the barrier with full force, and even after the beam faded, the shield showed not a single crack.
"Aaooo!!"
Still, Lugia had undeniably taken damage earlier. After blocking Moltres's Solar Beam, Lugia's shield faded—and green restorative light began leaking from its body!
"Oh no! It's using Recover! Latios, use Heal Block, now!"
The moment Harribel saw the green glow, she realized what Lugia was doing. She snapped a command.
"Ouu!!"
Latios, who had been helping Latias, instantly redirected its focus to Lugia. Pink psychic energy rippled across its body, and several chains of the same color burst out of the air around Lugia, binding it in place!
"Aaooo!!"
The green recovery light vanished instantly, and Lugia's healing was forcibly interrupted. Annoyed, Lugia screeched in irritation. It flapped its wings—discovering the chains did not impede its movement—then glared back toward the Pokemon in the sky.
"Aaooo!!"
A surge of draconic power burst from Lugia's body! The blue-purple flying dragon of energy roared forth, hurtling toward Zapdos and Latios with overwhelming force—intent on sweeping them all aside!
"This is bad! Latios! Use Protect, now!"
"Zapdos, use Light Screen!!"
Both Liam and Harribel were on maximum alert—no one could afford to underestimate even a single attack from Lugia!
"Ouu!!"
Latios shoved the now-recovered Latias aside and formed a pale blue Protect barrier around itself before charging straight toward the incoming Dragon Rush!
"Cryaaah!!"
At the same time, Zapdos screeched and raised a translucent Light Screen in front of Latios to boost defense against physical attacks!
BOOM!!
A split-second later, Lugia collided violently with Latios! The sound of shattering glass rang out—Zapdos's Light Screen and Latios's Protect both broke instantly! Overwhelmed by the force of the Dragon Rush, Latios was sent flying with a cry of pain.
"Yaa~~"
But Latias, now fully recovered, rushed forward and caught it, chirping in concern.
"Zapdos! Now—use Thunder!"
Seeing the draconic aura fading from Lugia's body, Liam knew it was the perfect opening. He immediately ordered Zapdos to strike.
"Cryaaah!!"
Under Zapdos's cry, lightning tore open the sky—then slammed into Lugia with devastating, super-effective force!
"Aaooo!!"
Even Lugia couldn't endure such a blow without screaming in pain. But gritting through the surging electricity, the deep blue barrier erupted around it again, blocking the remaining damage from Thunder.
