As soon as she said such things, Maria was taken aback to hear such words coming out of her mouth, and she couldn't help but glance at both of them in amazement.
She was surprised to hear such words coming out of her lips.
"Maria, you need to get yourself together and stop acting so surprised... It's a simple inquiry meant to help us understand what it is that you desire and how you feel about it." Mr Frederick said in a soothing tone while wearing a pleasant grin on his face.
"I am stunned, and I don't know why I am being asked this question now, but I am confident that there must be a purpose for it!" Maria murmured as she continued to keep her attention focused on each of them individually.
"Maria, when you came out for dinner last night, we saw that you were absent-minded several times. We also feel that you are quite lonely staying back at home here and to top it all off, you don't know anybody here... Therefore, we would want to know what it is that you desire?"
