Aurora James - POV
My gaze moved to Zander, who nodded for me to proceed. Taking a deep breath, I followed the man inside the cabin. He was probably six foot two, with sandy blonde hair and a well-built physique. From my guess, he must have been a warrior. "Are you her son?" I asked him, and he nodded.
"I am Brian," he introduced himself as we came to a stop in front of a closed door. When he opened it, a bizarre scent filled my nostrils. It was a mix of oranges, grapes, and maybe a hint of blood combined with something rusty.
As I stepped inside, I was awestruck. Three floor-to-ceiling shelves lined the vacant walls, filled with various bottles and jars containing different colored liquids, as well as strange insects and organs.
"Are you running a madhouse here?" I didn't expect to say it out loud, but when I saw a smile appear on Brian's face, I felt a bit better.
"My mother is a healer, as you already know," he exclaimed.
