David's eyes lit up. "You truly have an incredible eye for investment," he praised.
She nodded, then asked casually,
"Have you ever considered entering the restaurant chain market? Do you know how much capital you'd need to dominate it?"
David answered immediately, eager to impress. "A few hundred million, if I plan to expand across towns, cities, and states."
Miss Dawn nodded again. "And how much liquid capital do you currently have?"
David hesitated before replying, "Sixty million dollars. But my company is valued at a hundred million, and it's expected to reach three hundred million next year."
Miss Dawn nodded thoughtfully. "What a coincidence," she said lightly.
David blinked.
"The entire network your company is so proud of," she continued calmly, "is something I earned in just six months this year."
