"Neji, how do you feel about school?"
"It's pretty good, but the things the teachers teach are too simple."
"Don't be overly ambitious. Even if it's simple, you still need to listen carefully, understand?"
"I understand, Father."
After dinner, Makoto sat on the sofa, chatting with Neji.
"Father."
"Hmm?"
"I know someone at school named Kensuke. He's a year ahead of me."
Neji then told his father everything about Kensuke, including that his father was Tohnogawa.
"You handled this situation well." Makoto was quite surprised upon hearing this.
He reached out and patted Neji's head in encouragement, thinking that no wonder Rin had praised him.
Neji then said, "Father, a lot of people in my class want to get close to me. Is it because, like Kensuke, they see me as special because I'm your son?"
Makoto thought for a moment before saying, "Some of them might think that way, but there will definitely be others who genuinely admire you and simply want to be your friend."
Neji, however, looked troubled. "But I think they're all too stupid. I don't want to deal with them."
Makoto burst into laughter. "If you don't want to deal with them, then don't. As long as you don't intentionally hurt anyone, just do whatever you want."
Neji nodded. "I understand."
With such an outstanding son, Makoto naturally felt gratified as a father.
At that moment, Naruto and Sasuke also came over, and when Makoto looked at Naruto, he couldn't help but feel troubled again.
Would Naruto end up as the dead last in school again?
It seemed highly possible.
The boy hadn't shown any particular intelligence so far—he just spent his days goofing around with Sasuke.
They would be starting school next year, so before that, it was best to give them some early education.
Along with Hinata as well.
After the imperial palace was completed, Makoto and his entire family moved in.
Numerous maids were also assigned to handle various chores.
The whole family still lived together in a large residential palace, as they had always been used to this arrangement.
The front hall became Makoto's office for daily affairs, and they generally didn't disturb each other.
Since Makoto had grown accustomed to the perspective from the Hokage building, a tall pavilion was built next to the front hall for him to rest in.
With power delegated, Makoto's workload had significantly decreased, leaving him with much more free time.
Aside from drinking tea and wandering around, there wasn't much else to do.
His habit of taking afternoon naps remained unchanged, though the location varied—sometimes in the imperial palace, and sometimes at Samui's house.
Samui's large bed was occupied by Makoto, who slept soundly with Yugito and Mabui in his arms.
The three women had grown more and more beautiful over time.
Mabui, in particular, had changed the most—once just a naturally well-proportioned girl with a darker complexion, she had now blossomed into a sultry and captivating woman.
Her deep-toned skin, in many moments, was something Makoto simply couldn't get enough of.
Quietly, Samui slipped out of bed, nudging aside the scattered paper balls and discarded stockings on the floor.
She grabbed a nearby robe, draped it over herself, and left the room.
With practiced ease, she went to the fridge, retrieved some fruit, and moved to the open kitchen, where she washed and sliced them, preparing a fruit platter.
Once that was done, she turned to the bathroom, filling the tub with warm water, sprinkling in petals, and creating a layer of foamy bubbles.
By the time she returned to the bedroom, faint sounds of movement had begun inside.
Carrying the fruit platter and a glass of water, Samui stepped back into the room.
Makoto was already awake, lying on the bed seemingly lost in thought.
Mabui was sitting up, getting dressed, while Yugito was still fast asleep, her limbs draped lazily over Makoto's body.
"Your Majesty."
Samui respectfully presented the tray with both hands.
Makoto sat up and took a sip of water without much reaction, already accustomed to such attentiveness.
"The bath is ready for you."
Samui's service was always meticulous.
Makoto had long grown used to having her by his side—whether in daily life or work, entrusting tasks to her was never a mistake.
As Makoto walked out of the master bedroom, Mabui gently shook the still-sleeping Yugito, who was nestled comfortably in her dreams.
"Hmm?"
Yugito sleepily lifted her head, her drowsy eyes blinking in confusion as she looked at Mabui.
Mabui said, "Time to get up. If you keep sleeping, Samui will scold you again later."
Yugito slowly gathered her thoughts and asked, "You're all up already? Where's His Majesty?"
"He's taking a bath, and Samui went in with him. You'd better get up now while you have the chance."
Instead of listening, Yugito lazily closed her eyes again. "I'm exhausted. Just let me sleep a few more minutes. His Majesty was way too intense today."
Mabui could only sigh helplessly. "Fine, suit yourself."
Yugito quickly dozed off again—until she was jolted awake by an unexpected icy chill.
Her eyes snapped open to see Samui standing at the bedside, her expression unreadable.
Water droplets were still dripping from Samui's hand.
Yugito's brain froze for a few seconds before she let out a dry chuckle. "Good afternoon."
"Get up," Samui stated curtly.
"O-okay." Yugito didn't dare defy her.
She had grown quite wary of this sister of hers.
She quickly got out of bed and began dressing, glancing at the time—it was already 3:30 in the afternoon.
Stepping out of the bedroom, she saw Samui and Mabui already seated on the sofa.
"His Majesty… has he already left?"
Samui sneered coldly. "Oh? So you actually remember that His Majesty was here just now?"
Hearing this, Yugito reached out and touched her lower abdomen, muttering, "Of course I remember… It still feels strange even now."
Samui shot her a sidelong glance. "That is His Majesty's grace and affection bestowed upon you…"
"Yes, yes, I know. I'll cherish it properly." Yugito raised her hand dismissively but quickly shut up when she noticed Samui's frown.
With a cold expression, Samui said, "Do you have any idea how hard it was for us to attain the life we have now?"
Yugito had no choice but to nod. "I know."
"I've told you countless times—when serving His Majesty, you must be devoted and diligent. Do you realize how many women would give anything just for a chance to be in your position?"
Yugito kept nodding. "I know, I know. I was wrong. I won't sleep in anymore. From now on, I'll wake up as soon as His Majesty does."
But Samui replied, "That's not what I was talking about."
Yugito blinked in confusion. "Then what is it?"
Samui shot her a sharp glare and said, "At noon, while serving His Majesty together, you had the audacity to say you were tired and made His Majesty do all the work."
Mabui, who had been quietly listening at the side, nearly burst into laughter, pressing her lips together to hold it in.
Yugito looked embarrassed and muttered, "At that moment… I really had no strength left. You guys didn't even help share the burden a little."
The topic the three women were discussing would have seemed utterly absurd to anyone else.
But for them, their primary duty was to ensure they served Makoto well every time he came.
Especially for Samui—she devoted herself entirely to this task.
Right now, Makoto was her everything.
Makoto had never conditioned her, nor had he manipulated her psychologically in any way.
This was entirely of her own volition.
"Be serious!" Samui reprimanded sharply.
"Tonight, I'm going to test you both to see if you've been slacking off lately."
Yugito's face instantly fell. "Ah, no way! His Majesty already exhausted me today—just let me off this time!"
