Chapter 211 - 211: The Little Girl Who Sells Grenades, Klee

Watching as Ryen casually handed Klee a set of grenades, Jean was stunned.

He may not have given her an RPG, but grenades…

These things aren't exactly low-threat!

At the very least, they're no less dangerous than her Jumpy Dumpties.

Wouldn't Klee become even more proficient at blowing things up now?

Just imagining her tossing out a bunch of Jumpy Dumpties followed by a handful of grenades made Jean feel like she couldn't breathe.

These weren't like Jumpy Dumpties.

Klee's bombs were more of a pure Pyro-based explosive. But grenades?

These things didn't just blow up terrain. The shrapnel and ball bearings inside could easily turn anyone nearby into swiss cheese.

How on earth did Ryen think these were somehow less dangerous?

"Ryen…"

Jean pursed her lips, wanting to say something. But Lisa gently shook her head and stopped her.

Besides the fact that Ryen had already handed them over…

Grenades and Jumpy Dumpties weren't that different—they were both thrown explosives.

Klee had been locked up countless times for misusing her Jumpy Dumpties. She'd learned well by now how to handle such things.

Chances were, she wouldn't casually use them around Mondstadt anymore.

Klee's demolition operations had already shifted to this world. And while grenades still packed a punch here, as long as they were used on buildings or terrain, it wasn't much of a problem.

As for Klee's safety…

Ryen was always accompanied by both Klee and Nahida. With him watching, there wouldn't be any real danger.

What's more, when it came to protecting Klee, Ryen didn't cut corners.

Just look at the mini Totems of Undying hanging from Klee and Nahida's belts.

Each of them had at least ten.

And as for alchemy potions and similar items? He gave them out in full sets.

In terms of personal safety in this world, Klee and Nahida were probably even more secure than Zhongli or Venti.

---

"Grenades…"

Klee carefully cradled the round, black explosives in her arms.

Her innate talent for explosions made her fall in love with them instantly.

"Klee loves them! Ryen is the best!"

She cheered joyfully and leapt up to hug Ryen's neck, planting a kiss on his cheek.

Right beside them, Nahida's little mouth pouted even higher.

"Klee! Klee wants to give Ryen a present too! Mama said that when someone gives you a gift, you have to give one back!"

Smiling happily, Klee dug into her backpack and pulled out a bunch of Jumpy Dumpties to hand to Ryen.

"Ryen! These are my favorite treasures! They're for you! Thank you for your present!"

Hu Tao broke into a cold sweat.

No wonder Jean and the others called her a little demolitionist—

Even her idea of a gift was terrifying.

Even though the elemental power of the Jumpy Dumpties had been greatly suppressed, Hu Tao still felt a tangible threat from them.

She now believed that Klee might actually be Mondstadt's true trump card in battle.

Ryen glanced at the adorable Jumpy Dumpties in his hand.

It seemed he'd underestimated how powerful they actually were.

Even in this world, though they weren't as strong as TNT—or even grenades—

They weren't far off, either.

He put them away, then pointed at the grenades with a smile.

"Klee, these are a bit dangerous. When you use them, make sure you throw them really far. Don't toss them near yourself or anyone else, understand?"

"Mm-hmm! Klee remembers!"

Klee nodded seriously, then carefully pulled out a grenade.

"Ryen, can Klee try throwing one?"

"Of course."

Ryen glanced down. The Qianyan soldiers had already collected the spoils and returned behind closed gates.

The area outside was flat—perfect for grenade practice.

So he began giving Klee lessons on how to throw them.

It was such a sweet, parent-child-looking moment… except that he was teaching her how to throw grenades.

There was something a little eerie about that.

Jean shook her head and sighed softly.

"I just hope Klee gets all the explosions out of her system in this world… and doesn't go back to Teyvat tossing bombs around again."

Just as she finished speaking, a grenade exploded below, sending dirt flying everywhere.

Klee's excited cheer echoed up from the ground as she clung to Ryen, eager to learn how to throw even farther.

Several Qianyan soldiers jumped in alarm, scrambling for cover.

They'd recently had encounters with bandits carrying grenades.

Compared to those who only used firearms, grenade users were much more dangerous.

Even if they didn't cause casualties, they could destroy defensive structures in seconds.

Fortunately, Dashi quickly sent word: Don't worry—it's just Ryen teaching Klee how to throw grenades.

The soldiers let out a collective sigh of relief and went back to their posts.

Klee's explosive talents were exceptional—she picked things up instantly.

After just a few demonstrations from Ryen, she'd already figured out the technique.

Now she was throwing them one after another without restraint.

In no time, she had used up the whole set.

The ground in the distance was riddled with craters, like it had been through a bombing run.

On a roll, Klee even pulled out a bunch of Jumpy Dumpties.

Though less powerful than grenades, they still tore up the ground like a plow.

Klee had never been so happy tossing explosives.

She spent a good ten minutes blowing things up along the city wall.

Completely satisfied, she finally ran out of Jumpy Dumpties.

But Ryen didn't hesitate. He immediately handed her two more sets of grenades.

To him, it wasn't about the explosions. As long as Klee was happy, it was worth it.

That said, Klee wasn't a thoughtless child.

After letting out all her explosive energy, she remembered that Jean and the others were still waiting for her.

So she tucked the grenades away and obediently snuggled up in Ryen's arms.

Seeing this, Ryen couldn't help but feel a bit emotional.

Jean and the others really underestimated how considerate Klee could be.

How could such a well-behaved girl recklessly fire an RPG?

He made a mental note:

Next time when Jean wasn't paying attention, he'd secretly take Klee to play with the RPG.

She'd probably be even happier.

In the end, Ryen had successfully nurtured a little girl in Teyvat who sells grenades.

And honestly? Alice would probably clap her hands in joy.

---

"Did you have fun, Klee?"

As Ryen returned with Klee and Nahida in his arms, Lisa smiled warmly and pinched Klee's cheek.

Klee squinted with delight and shouted:

"Super fun! Klee had so much fun!"

"Klee loves Ryen! And Klee loves this world too!"

Lisa blinked and said softly:

"Then from now on, unless Jean gives permission, you're not allowed to fish with bombs in Teyvat, alright?"

"But in this world, as long as you don't hurt anyone or destroy everyone's hard work, you can throw all the bombs you want. Okay?"

Klee tilted her head and thought for a moment, then quickly nodded.

"Okay! Lisa sis! From now on, Klee will only throw bombs here! I'll be super careful not to hurt anyone!"

"Good girl."

Lisa gently rubbed Klee's ear, then straightened up and rolled her eyes at Ryen.

"Well, you've gotten your wish now. Looks like Klee's going to stick to you from now on."

Ryen chuckled nonchalantly.

"No problem. I actually want Klee to be with me every day."

As soon as he said that, Nahida lifted her head and stared at Ryen with a dark, brooding look—as if she were staring at a heartless playboy.

Ryen quickly corrected himself:

"And Nahida too. She also has to be with me every day."

Only when Nahida calmed down did Ryen finally breathe a sigh of relief.

He couldn't help but wonder: how could this little loli be so jealous? She'd been asleep for five hundred years—did she even manage to learn how to get jealous during that time?

After descending the city wall with the group, Dashi resumed his duties. The miners from Base One would be returning shortly with resources, and he needed to coordinate their arrival.

With things mostly handled here, Ryen only had to take Albedo to inspect the alchemy workshop and examine some materials. Then in the afternoon, he'd take Jean and the others to check on Mondstadt's Base One before heading back.

Albedo's official tasks began today. He would be bringing back a lot of materials to begin his research once he returned to Teyvat.

Of course, that was the ideal plan.

But Albedo's curiosity about this world's mysteries was far from satisfied. There was so much he wanted to study:

Why was everything made of cubes?

Why could cubes float in the air?

What was the mechanism behind the Nether and End portals?

How did firearms work in this world?

Why did lava and water produce different solid blocks depending on the order of contact?

Why could bone meal instantly make crops grow?

Why were skeletons effective combat units?

What laws governed Wither Storm and iron golem summoning?

And how could a single bucket of water endlessly spread out…?

All of these things puzzled him.

He had even nearly forgotten about the Corroded Sword he was supposed to hand to Lumine.

---

Meanwhile, Ryen led Jean and the others to get familiar with the Minecraft world and do a bit of sightseeing.

Ningguang, Ganyu, and Keqing were busy up in the Jade Chamber handling paperwork.

Everyone had their own tasks.

A few days ago, due to the increasing presence of the Fatui in Liyue Harbor—including the arrival of another Harbinger—the General Affairs Office had kept a close eye on them.

However, after seeing no suspicious activity, they eventually lost interest.

Not that they feared the Fatui making trouble—they wanted them to cause trouble.

That way, they'd have the perfect excuse to send the Millelith in to round them up.

The General Affairs Office was well aware of the Millelith's current strength.

Under the level of archons, they feared nothing.

If they ever encountered something above that level…

Well—call for backup!

---

On the second floor of the Northland Bank, Rosalyne sat in a conference room, calmly reading over the intel the Fatui had recently gathered.

The more she read, the more uneasy she felt.

No wonder Tartaglia had insisted she behave and avoid stirring up trouble.

Just the forces Liyue had revealed on the surface were enough to pose a threat to the Fatui.

Even if they secretly summoned hundreds of modified soldiers, they would likely be wiped out with ease.

Even she and Tartaglia would be lucky to escape with their lives.

In Rosalyne's mind, Liyue was walking the path of becoming a nation of gods on earth.

But the stronger Liyue grew, the more she couldn't suppress the thought:

If the Tsaritsa could reach an agreement with the Geo Archon…

Then with Liyue's power added to the Tsaritsa's plans, it would be like giving wings to a tiger.

The chances of success in their plan against Celestia would skyrocket.

Over the past few days, Rosalyne had written several letters to the Tsaritsa about this, seeking her opinion.

But no reply had arrived yet, and she was growing anxious.

Just then, the door opened. The exhausted head of the Northland Bank's Liyue branch walked in.

"Milady, the people from the General Affairs Office have left."

Rosalyne paused, nodded slightly, and said nothing.

The bank manager hesitated, visibly frustrated.

"Milady, in the past few days, the General Affairs Office has gone too far. They used to audit us every three days, but now they come almost daily."

"They…"

Rosalyne slowly looked up and stared at him blankly.

"What are you trying to say?"

The man fell silent. After a long moment, he cautiously replied:

"Are they not showing proper respect to you and Lord Tartaglia?"

Rosalyne sneered coldly inside.

The Northland Bank belonged to the wealthy. This manager was one of them.

And the rich had always had a hostile relationship with Ningguang—or with Liyue itself, really.

She had no interest in dealing with this nonsense.

Especially not now. With the way Liyue had become, she dared not make a move.

If you wanted to survive, you had to behave yourself.

The General Affairs Office probably wanted the Fatui to stir up trouble—just to have a proper excuse to crush them.

Turning her gaze back to the documents in front of her, Rosalyne said indifferently:

"Leave."

The manager pursed his lips but didn't dare say another word. Resigned, he left the room with a gloomy expression.
