Chapter 102 - Chapter 102 - Meeting with the Gods and Goddesses

Third person POV

One afternoon on a Thursday, with Basilio having little work to do, Chivo took him to the temple in his hometown of Fresa de Ard to meet up with the deities of this world, if these divine beings are present there at all. So, arriving there, Chivo presented it to Basilio, who marvelled at its cathedral-like style. The temple was made of marble and Roman concrete and had intricate designs from Gothic style of architecture. "Woah…" Basilio commented, "…I had been here before, on my 3rd day in this world to be exact…"

"Is that so?" Chivo looked at him.

Basilio then nodded. "Yeah, but it was just a peek inside it at that time."

 "Oh…"

And so, both of them entered and closed the doors quietly and slowly because there were people, mostly children, praying for whatever they needed, wanted, or desired. The atmosphere was quiet, solemn, and good for a sanctuary for the people. Most children prayed for their abilities to be used in their future careers, while others prayed for various things and favours to the deities.

Seeing their doing, Basilio knew that it was a place for wishes and gaining abilities. Luckily for him, he didn't have to come to a temple and pray for an ability or two (in this case, 4) because he already had his set by the Isekai System from the start of his life in this world. Chivo suggested they should wait for everyone to leave the place so they would meet up with the deities personally and with privacy, which Basilio agreed.

And then, they waited for over an hour, with Basilio using his phone in silent mode. And then, at 5 p.m., everyone in the temple left off to resume their daily routines, and now seeing a quiet place for themselves, Basilio and Chivo stood up from their seats and walked up to the statues of the various deities of this world. Now, some of the deities appeared before them. These are: Träger, the god of support; Haiteku, the god of tech; Thea, the goddess of ice; and Hierba, the goddess of harvest. These four deities are dressed in various clothes, with Haiteku being an exception because of his formal and modern clothes. They then looked at Basilio and Chivo and were quite surprised by their sudden presence in the temple.

"Oh, we didn't know you guys were here," Hierba said to them.

 "Welcome," Thea added.

"Hi there, guys," Chivo responded positively and with a respectful tone and gesture.

Basilio saw that and did the same out of respect. "Greetings."

"Ah, Basilio-kun…" Haiteku said to him, as if he knew about him already. "…greetings."

Basilio was stunned that he knew his name somehow, and Chivo was stunned as well.

"How did you know my name?" Basilio asked.

"Well…" Haiteku responded, but his response was cut by Träger, who then said to Chivo, "Hey, Chivo-kun! How's your career as a support?"

The other deities glared at him for that.

"It didn't end well…" Chivo responded back while feeling bad about that" … I got kicked out by my former party for being useless."

"Oh…" Thea replied while feeling bad for him.

"But I eventually became a soldier under this guy, who was the leader of the Forest Vamzoms."

Chivo looked at Basilio, who was proud with no pride.

"Yup, I did that for him," added Basilio.

The other divine beings were happy for them, before glaring at Träger because…

"Now he had to get skills himself all this fucking time, you asshole!" Haiteku yelled at him, "Can you imagine how hard it was for him to do all that?"

"Yeah, do you think that a support system would work every time?!" Thea added angrily.

"Sorry..." Träger was greatly embarrassed by it while laughing nervously.

Thea then looked at Chivo. "Well, lucky for you, Chivo, I added an ice magic system on you just in case your support system didn't pay off in your career as an adventurer."

Chivo was stunned. "It was you who did that?"

Thea then nodded. "Yes, you're welcome, and from what I saw, you excelled a lot as a soldier with ice magic, plus Hybrid-classed abilities with your skills in gunnery and swordsmanship."

"Yup, I had turned my life around after my failure as an F-ranked."

Thea was happy for him before glaring at Träger. "Apologize to Chivo for almost ruining his career."

Träger did so nervously and genuinely.

"Yeah, it's fine, Träger-sama," Chivo replied with a chill tone in his voice.

"Yes, it's okay, Träger-sama," Basilio added.

Träger was relieved to hear that, and so were the other divine beings.

And with that, finally, Haiteku could talk to Basilio. He said to him, "As I was supposed to say, it seemed that you had adapted well to the ways of this world with your tech stuff."

"Oh, thanks, um…" Basilio said in response, while not knowing his name yet.

"Oh! My name is Haiteku, and I am the god of tech, like your phone, laptop and whatever you have in your possession."

Basilio was shocked to hear who he was and what he was. "Wait, what???"

Chivo was stunned because he barely knew about Haiteku.

"Yes, and I was once an Otherworlder who was tech-savvy," Haiteku replied with a humble gesture about himself, "now elevated as a god of technology, the god of it."

"No way…" Basilio responded while unable to process what he had heard.

"Also, I was the one who bestowed the Tech ability on you on your first day in this world."

 "Wait, what in the…?"

"Haha, it was me, mate, and it seemed that you are good at managing your time with your tech."

"Wow…um…thanks, Haiteku-sama, especially with the Tech ability you bestowed to me."

 "You're welcome, Basilio!"

And then the deities realised that Guarire, the goddess of healing, wasn't here, and some of them assumed she was busy with her duties as a divine being elsewhere. "She must be busy now…" Träger said.

"Guarire?" Basilio and Chivo asked simultaneously.

"Yes, she is the goddess of healing," Thea responded. "And she was the one who bestowed that Short-Term Survivor ability to Basilio on his first day."

Basilio was stunned. "Woah…she did?"

His mind then said, "No wonder I could heal my wounds so fast…I am grateful for Guarire-sama for that…"
