After the call ended, Lu Jinchen sat silently in his office. His cold expression gave nothing away. The storm inside him had settled for now, but his eyes still held a dangerous glint. Moments later, Gao Yiming entered, a folder in his hand. He approached cautiously, carefully observing his boss's face before speaking.
"Jinchen… how are you feeling?" he asked in a tentative tone.
Lu Jinchen looked up from his desk, his eyes sharp and unreadable. "What's supposed to happen to me?"
Gao Yiming gave a small, awkward laugh and sat down across from him. "That man was here. I thought you would be… I don't know…" He trailed off, making a face somewhere between discomfort and pity.
Lu Jinchen snorted coldly. "Strangers don't affect me."
"That's good," Gao Yiming said with a sigh of relief. "So, what did he say?"
