Barry didn't dare say a word because he didn't know what had changed because of his actions from his little trip to the past.
He looks at Caitlin, who is slowly calming down. Why would the fiancé she loved so much try to kill her, and from everything he heard from Caitlin, Ronnie seems to have loved her equally?
"I can't believe he is still alive..." Caitlin finally speaks up. Barry placed his hand on her shoulder to calm her down. She leaned in, resting her head on his hand, seeking his warmth.
Seeing this, he pulled her in a little closer and hugged her.
"What happened?" Barry asks. Not digging too much into it and sounding suspicious. He is going to keep his questions short and vague.
"I had finished up my work for the day and was heading home when he suddenly confronted me outside. I was so scared when I saw him alive," Caitlin says.
Barry just listens, stroking her head to make her feel safe.
"I thought when he died after being trapped inside the particle accelerator, I would finally be rid of him, but now he is back, and more dangerous than ever," Caitlin says.
"Don't worry, He won't harm you now that I am here," Barry says, comforting her.
"You know, when I first met him, I thought he was my soul mate. He liked everything I liked, his favorite food, his favorite author, his favorite color. I thought I had found the perfect man. I even got engaged to him. I was so foolish thinking it was fate. Only to find out soon after that he was stalking me all along," Caitlin says.
Barry's eyes widen with shock when he hears these words. Luckily, Caitlin is not looking at his face to see his shocked expression.
'Stalker? What the fuck? How did this even happen?' Barry questions. Now he is for sure that he is not going to tell anyone about his trip to the past.
Barry then went on to learn that Ronnie stalked her for years, learning about her likes and dislikes, pretending to be someone he was not, approached her, got close to her, and even proposed to her.
They were engaged, but then one day, Caitlin stumbled upon his personal computer and saw thousands of files with her information that dated back years before they even met.
It all came crashing down on her as she realized that the man she loved turned out to be a creepy stalker. His claim about him being an engineer was also false. He was, in fact, a crook.
Caitlin immediately left him, which made him violent. She filed a restraining order against him. She thought this was enough.
But she thought wrong. The day when the particle accelerator was about to go live, Ronnie thought about using this opportunity to corner Caitlin inside the lab, as most people were out to celebrate, only for the idiot to trap himself inside the particle accelerator out of curiosity.
When Caitlin realized that her former fiancé and stalker had died during the explosion, she felt a little relieved.
Only for her to come to the realization today that her stalker is back as a Meta Human.
Barry listened to her, wondering how this all happened. What kind of butterfly effect must have taken place for Ronnie to turn out a low-level criminal who then went on to stalk Caitlin out of obsession?
But this revelation left Barry in more confusion. If Ronnie's death brought relief to Caitlin, then how are they still in a friends-with-benefits situation? She shouldn't have any lingering trauma over losing her fiancé anymore, right?
Of course, Barry is not stupid enough to ask Caitlin how they ended up with their current relationship. Luckily, he has the power to peer into the past, and he will have his answers soon enough.
"Let me take you back to my place, just to be safe," Barry says, rubbing her shoulder. Since Ronnie knows where Caitlin lives, it's not safe for her to stay there.
So, for the time being, she should stay in Barry's apartment.
"I would like that," Caitlin says. Barry carries Caitlin and takes her back to his apartment, and lets her rest on his bed.
He also informed Cisco on what happened and told him that Caitlin is staying in his house for the time being.
Cisco was glad to hear Caitlin is safe. He was also surprised to hear that her stalker fiancé wasn't as dead as he thought he was, and is now a Meta Human.
This made Cisco immediately investigate Ronnie.
As Berry was about to join Caitlin in bed, he suddenly got a notification on his phone.
"Work. I need to go," Barry says.
"Go, I am fine now," Caitlin says.
Barry nods and disappears in a flash.

Barry walks into the crime scene and sees two dead bodies.
He immediately begins his investigation.
