Chapter 82 - Fight Against The God

Barry has to admit, he is feeling a little excited as he faces off against the God of War, Ares, with Diana by his side.

Ares will be his first big bad guy he is going to fight. What he wants to know is how much of a fight this god can put up against him.

Barry is immortal, he is faster than light, his strength has increased exceptionally, and his body's toughness is getting better and better day by day. He doesn't see any scenario in which this god can put up a fight against him.

Every day, Barry wakes up and realizes that having super speed, that too at his level, is probably one of the most broken abilities one can have.

The only reason Flash in the comic books and TV show faced any kind of defeat was because the writers decided to.

So now here he is, standing before a god, and he doesn't feel a bit of nervousness.

"You don't need to shout to get your words across. Also, isn't asking for my head a little too violent? Maybe tone down the violence a little?" Barry says, looking at the very angry man in the air.

Though Diana has a serious face, her lips couldn't help but twitch under Flash's constant verbal harassment of Ares.

"You have a mouth on you, Mortal, but don't worry, when I am done with you, you won't have a jaw to shut," Ares says.

"Is he always this gnarly with his words?" Barry turns to Diana and asks. Diana just gives him a look and brings her focus back on Ares.

"Enough!" Looks like Ares has finally had enough of Barry, so he waves his hand and a military vehicle that was flipped over suddenly shoots up in the air and comes flying towards Barry and breakneck speed.

When a massive over two-ton metal box comes flying at someone at the speed of sound, it usually ends with that person being turned into a meat paste, but not Barry, because he is the Flash, and there is rarely anything the Flash can't do.

Seeing the military van coming at him, Barry looks at it, unfazed. Diana immediately jumps to the side to dodge the van.

As for Barry, he just begins vibrating. The military truck crashes into the ground and keeps rolling for quite a while, turning into a piece of scrap. As for Barry, he just stands there with not a scratch on his body.

He just phased through that van without moving from his spot.

Ares sees this and frowns. He is not someone to give up so easily. So he raises both his hands and multiple pieces of metal, large, small, and of different shapes, start hovering up in the air.

He then tosses all of them at Barry and Diana.

This time, the force behind these objects is even greater. All of them are breaking the sound barrier.

Barry turns his head to look at Diana and sees her preparing herself for the incoming barrage of flying metal projectiles.

His head starts working, calculating all the possible ways Diana can move and save herself. He doesn't know the limits of her speed, but even if she manages to move faster than the speed of sound, dodging all these metal projectiles will be hard, even for a demi-goddess like her.

Her only reassurance would be her insane durability.

Barry moved to the side as the first metal was right up his face. He keeps his eyes on Diana as she moves slowly before his eyes, but to an average person, it would look like she's just a blur.

Barry looks at Ares and sees fury in the god's eyes. His eyes looked directly at Barry.

Seeing that Diana can take care of herself for now, he decides to confront the god of war directly.

Since the god decided to use projectiles to attack him and Diana, he left a nice path for him to get close to the god, even though he is hovering in the air.

Barry runs as lightning crackles around him. His powerful legs propel him up in the air, and he steps on top of one of the metal debris, using it to propel himself forward.

Using the flying metal debris that was thrown at him, Barry runs towards Ares.

As he closes the distance between himself and the god, Barry notices something. The look in Ares's eyes. He is able to see Barry coming even though Barry is moving at an astonishing speed.

Barry pulls back his hand, ready to punch Ares and maybe end this early, but as he tries to punch through Ares's face, his hand goes right through Ares, followed by his entire body.

Barry flies through the air and lands a thousand meters across from the battlefield.

Without wasting a moment, he turns back as Ares is slowly turning his body to face Barry.

"Okay! I underestimated the bag of tricks you have up your sleeve. But you won't get this lucky every single time," Barry says as he charges towards Ares once again.
