Chapter 353: Lady, NTR Is Absolutely Unacceptable (2)
"The head of the house?"
Sophia smiled but said nothing.
There was no need to say more.
This little scene was a public execution.
It looked like a punishment for the eavesdropping head of the Guen family, but in truth, it was a warning for Shia.
He didn't even have to guess to know what had happened.
It must've been Horace whining about her and Shia getting too close, and now Sophia, in the dead of night, called him into her room and assumed this kind of posture.
She was telling him: do you understand now how terrifying a woman's revenge can be?
What she demanded was loyalty—absolute loyalty.
Such a woman was laced with poison.
And yet Shia wasn't afraid. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her curvy waist.
With no support beneath him, he clung entirely onto Sophia's lush body.
Sophia's hand on the bed instinctively pressed down harder to support them both.
But in the next second, Shia swiftly pecked her lips.
Just a brief touch.
Staring into the mature beauty's close-up face, Shia slowly curved his lips into a smile.
Sophia was caught completely off-guard by the sudden kiss.
Shia spoke in a low voice, a sound only the two of them could hear.
The young boy who admired her humbly gave his answer.
"It's my honor to be someone you're jealous for."
A flush rose up Sophia's cheeks, her lovestruck expression rare and precious on her.
It seemed she was genuinely moved by the boy.
Shia's smile deepened, his eyes filled entirely with her figure.
Whether there was any real affection in it, though, was anyone's guess.
---
The next day.
Two days remained until the birthday banquet of Lady Sophia of the Guen family.
Morning.
A misty veil shrouded the mountains and rivers, covering them in a thin, delicate white.
Sunlight pierced through the morning dew, scattering crystal-clear sparkles.
Golden morning rays filtered through the glass windows, filling the room with a warm glow.
Two stunningly beautiful girls sat facing each other, casually chatting over morning tea.
The red-haired older sister was cold and aloof, her posture elegant, radiating an icy aura that kept others at bay.
The blonde, lively, and dignified young maiden had a charming face and clung sweetly to her sister.
"Sister, how's the tea taste?"
Lilith set down her cup, her eyes glancing toward Fafna across from her.
"Shia's tea-making skills are excellent. He knows I love green tea, so he especially honed it for me."
Saying this, she shyly covered her lips and laughed softly.
It wasn't really idle chatting; it was just an excuse to show off her husband and praise her childhood sweetheart's skills.
The real purpose, of course, was to further provoke her sister.
Lilith noticed that after she finished speaking, Fafna's eyebrows clearly furrowed.
She was obviously feeling a little uncomfortable.
It worked!
Lilith felt a surge of satisfaction and pride.
What she didn't know was that her beloved sister had just lost her first kiss yesterday, leaving her deeply unsettled.
The frown wasn't because of Lilith's bragging, but because her words triggered some very unpleasant memories.
Fafna slightly lifted her gaze, her peripheral vision falling on the third person in the tea room.
The boy sat there with a relaxed and graceful air, completely at ease.
As if nothing had happened last night.
In that instant, Fafna recalled the touch, the taste.
Her grip on the teacup tightened.
She really wanted to kill him!
But...
The boy's words kept echoing in her mind.
She never cared about the life or death of a stray orphan.
But his words—they truly held an irresistible allure.
In the serene room, the three occupied their respective spots. Outwardly peaceful, yet each harboring their own complicated thoughts.
Just then, a teasing, carefree laugh drifted from afar.
The voice was familiar, but the rare happiness in it made it stand out.
Almost instantly, Lilith and Fafna both looked toward the source.
What could've made Mother so happy?
But what they saw wasn't just Sophia alone.
Shia also lifted his head and looked toward the doorway.
Two familiar silhouettes walked in, arm-in-arm—the golden-haired Lady Sophia and...
Shia's gaze landed on the person next to Sophia.
Long hair the color of the sky, smooth and silky like flowing water.
On her delicate face rested a soft smile, her whole being exuding a gentle and elegant aura.
She appeared even more demure and graceful than the true married woman beside her.
A crescent moon mark adorned her forehead, refined and full of unique charm.
Who else could it be but the Queen of the Moon?
A glimmer flashed through Shia's eyes.
His backer had arrived!
As the two approached, an overwhelming sword aura swept toward them.
Almost instantly, Fafna tossed aside her earlier troubles.
Her sharp, beautiful eyes locked onto the Queen of the Moon.
Battle spirit ignited, her whole body tensed up.
This female valkyrie was, at her core, a battle maniac.
From the very first moment, she sensed the overwhelming pressure from the Queen of the Moon.
She couldn't suppress the surge of fighting spirit within.
Sophia was already smiling, making introductions.
"This is my eldest daughter, Fafna."
"This is my youngest daughter, Lilith."
"And this is the legendary Sword Saint—the Queen of the Moon."
Hearing this, Fafna's eyes burned even brighter.
She immediately stood up, came before the Queen of the Moon, and extended her hand.
"Hello, I'm Fafna. Would you be interested in a spar?"
She had always been interested in the famed Sword Saint.
But before the Queen of the Moon could reply, her mother put a stop to it.
Sophia knocked her on the head, scolding lightly.
"Nonsense!"
"She's an honored guest I invited—show some respect!"
The Queen of the Moon simply shook her head, her expression growing even gentler.
"It's fine. So this is your adopted daughter, the Valkyrie guarding the northern frontier?"
Sophia smiled proudly and nodded.
"Children don't know any better. If you have time, please help guide her."
Sophia didn't notice the flicker of gloom in Fafna's eyes when she heard the word "adopted."
But ultimately, Fafna obediently withdrew.
Sophia and the Queen of the Moon sat down.
