CHAPTER START---

-Mid 120 AC-

Urrigon eyes snapped open, sweat creased his brow and his eyes darted around the room.

His body was no longer laying on his bed and had bolted upright.

"Seven hells…what was that"

Putting both on his face he felt them shaking and his damp hair.

'Harwin Strong? Why do you continue plague me so?"

He loved to get out his bed but he felt a weight on his legs.

There sprawled out across his bed laid his little brother, sleeping without a care in the world.

Urrigon began to question why he was there before the memories of where they were flooded his mind, the fog of the nightmare dissipating.

They were on a ship, the royal ship and he was in his own personal cabin.

Why Daeron was in his room when he had his own escaped him.

Nonetheless he could not bring himself to disturb his brother and carefully removed himself from the bed, slowly moving his legs to not disturb him.

Once out he sorted out the blankets to cover Daeron properly, tucking him in and slightly lifting his head to put a pillow beneath it.

Finally done he looked around his cabin.

They had left in a hurry due to the unfortunate circumstances.

He did not even have time to pack or bring any of his book's.

All that was packed were clothes by the servants, who his mother seemed to have hand picked.

He was surprise she had the time.

The room was sparse with only a bed in the corner of it, alongside some candle lamps hanging across his room, which light was snuffed out.

Though dark, Urrigon quickly changed into a different set of clothes and out of his bed wear.

Wearing a white tunic and black trousers, completing it with a set of brown boots. He checked around his neck if his Seven star amulet was still hanging around it.

Once satisfied he silently left the room, gently closing the door.

The halls were alight, the hanging candle lamps burned with a soft intensity.

There was no sept on the ship , obviously, but that would not stop Urrigon from performing his morning prayers.

He quickly passed the many doors of the lower deck and climbed to reach the main.

As he was walking up the stairs with scriptures in his head he suddenly felt a hand grab his tunic's sleeve by the wrist.

" My prince, that would not be wise", said a feminine voice, her grip soft but cold.

Urrigon slowly turned around to view who had grabbed him.

He knew that the person could not be a enemy and by judging by her voice and her grip he knew that even if she was, he could swiftly take her down or hold her off until helped came.

Though the latter was embarrassing and his brothers would not let him hear the end of it.

Emerald and Amethyst met a cold pale blue.

The women had long midnight black hair that passed her shoulders and reached until her lower back. She did not hold any aristocratic features but that did not mean the lady was ugly. Rather her pale white skin and commoner-like features gave her a unique allure. She wore a plain black dress.

His brother Aegon would call her a beauty,

Aemond and Daeron would not even consider her as such being as young as they were.

Both would consider her a ghoulish women, perhaps even a witch of the stories Urrigon would read to them at night before they slept.

To Urrigon now, she was but a annoyance keeping him from giving his due to the Seven.

"Lady Alys", said Urrigon, "What business do you have with me?"

The older women did not respond, rather she continued to stare at him, smiling while still holding his wrist, in fact it seemed to get firmer by the minute.

Urrigon lifted a brow, "Lady Alys, perhaps that came of rude", he snatched his wrist away from her and looked down at the lady, "Why is a lady in waiting for Princess Rhaenyra disturbing me?"

As soon as he escaped away her hand, she seemed to have finally heard what he said.

A if spell broken.

"Prince Urrigon I apologies", said Lady Alys but Urrigon could tell by the thin smile still on her face that she was lying to him, "It seems I was lost in my thoughts for a moment".

"Best make sure that does not happen again, my elder sister would not be pleased" , said Urrigon shaking his head.

"I was just worried 'my prince', I was sent for you and when I could not find you in your cabin I thought that I 'lost you'".

The way she said "my prince' and "lost you' did not escape him.

" Why would the bastard daughter of the late lord Lyonel be worried for me?", said Urrigon, "Your father before his passing made his feelings towards me clear".

Her smile widened and her eyes were still focused on his own, "Lord's do not often care for bastards, especially the daughters."

'I am the cause of your brother's death yet you smile at me?', thought Urrigon.

The women before him was the youngest of Lord Lyonel children.

A bastard daughter, carrying the name 'Rivers' so all could know her status. It seemed siring bastards was in the Strongs blood and nature.

Now if only Harwin Strong was as honest as his father when he still drew breath.

Perhaps he would not be dead.

Despite his debauchery, the late lord did not hide away his bastard like most lords would, hoping the world would ignore there sin.

Rather, he had brought her with him to the royal court where she became a lady in waiting, a companion to his sister.

'Clearly her father cared for her…so why does

Lady Alys seemed to have said something but lost in his thoughts he did not hear her.

"My apologies, I did not hear what you said", said Urrigon .

Alys smile faded for a moment but returned quickly, "All is forgiven my prince, perhaps we both saw what we liked, I would not blame a young prince for getting lost in his desires…rather I welcome it".

Both Urigon's eyebrows lifted, "I am Twelve namedays Lady Alys".

For all he knew and saw, she was a woman grow. Though no one knew her age.

"That did not stop your brother's…admiration for the servants when he was at your age", said Alys.

It seemed that his brother's habits were now affecting his own reputation.

When the ship arrives he would be sure to correct that.

"I am not my brother, now may please repeat what you had said".

Alys walked down the steps and Urrigon followed her, once at the bottom of them, the lower decks he noticed she was a head taller then him.

She seemed to notice as well by the way Urrigon noticed her pale eyes gleam.

The Strong's blood flowed through her indeed.

"The Hand bids for you, your grandsire sent Daeron a hour or two before but since you did not come he sent me to retrieve you".

So that's why Daeron was snoring in his room.

Another question arose from his mind, 'Why would a member of Rhaenayr's companions follow my Grandsire's orders? Did he gain a new creature when he returned?'

He did not voice his thoughts though instead he spoke, "I thank you for the message, please lead the way Lady Alys"

She grabbed his hand this time, her grip clammy and tight.

Urrigon auburn brows furrowed as he scowled "Lady Alys you forget your–"

"You killed my brother", said Alys with a smile still on her face, her blue eyes wide as she brought them close to his, "I deserve every little pleasure from you, that is your debt".

She moved her free hand and caressed the side of his face before gripping his reddish brown curls ,"and I will collect, 'my prince'."

Urrigon felt a flash of anger his fist clenching before cooling himself, his father would not forgive him if his former Hand's daughter laid beaten on the floor.

She let go of his hair and they walked hand in hand. He refused to be dragged so he walked besides her.

Alys hummed a tune he did not recognize. Nor did he care enough to. She seemed to be enjoying herself while he stewed in his misery.

Finally after minutes of silence, they stopped by a door at the end of one of the many hallways of the ship.

Alys finally released his hand and stepped away from him, "Good day Prince Urrigon" she curtsied grabbing her black dress she bent down, showing a hint of cleavage.

"Good day Lady Alys" he said his cold, slightly bowing his head.

They both stared at each other before Alys walked away, most likely to report this to Rhaenyra.

'That's if she is not playing both sides…'

When she passed him she whispered in his ear "Call me Alys when we are alone like this next time…and be careful my love, dreams hold many secrets".

Urrigon sharply turned his head to her in shock, "How did you!?"

She did not give an answer and continued to walk away, her retreating from his view.

Urrigon would have chased after her to demand answers. If she knew what the land of honey and milk was and the everlasting darkness that was the beast.

He knew better though, he was treading on thin ice already and if Alys spoke of any abuse to the King, the prince knew he would be finished.

So he had to meet with his grandsire first. Daeron's sleeping had already wasted enough time.

He would have his morning prayers after this and then scold him.

Urrigon checked his hair with his hands, seeing if any strand of hair was sticking out and flattening it.

He breathed in trying to fade away the anger he had. Once he calmed himself he knocked on the cabin's door.

For a moment there was silence.

"Enter".

Urrigon pushed the door open.
