-Day 1. Morning, Mid 120 AC-
It was already the morning, the sun's rays barely peaking through the grey clouds.
The waves crashed against the hold and the air smelt of the oceans salt.
When Urrigon arrived at Driftmarks docks there was a warm reception.
Not for him but for the King and his daughter and grandchildren.
Urrigon could understand why Viserys would deserve such a reception, no matter how much of a fool he was in his eyes, all Lords should give proper respect to their liege.
The Seven anointed and ruler of the Six Kingdoms..
King Viserys was plump and round-faced, with a bushy silver-gold mustache. He dressed in dark purple silk brocade and wore the gold-and-gemstone circlet of Urrigon's great great grandfather, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.
On his left was his sister and her family. They all wore black, Rhaenyra a black dress with Targaryen imagery and her son's black tunics and pants.
The standard colors of mourning but also for their faction.
It made sense, they were in the King's and the realms eyes part of the deceased members family.
'But with those with working eyes….'
Despite sharing a ship for two days they had scarcely met, even his nephews remained out of his sight.
'Good, bastards should be out of sight and mind if only they always did' thought Urrigon before staring at one of his sisters attendants, 'Unlike that wretched women'
Alys Rivers seemed to feel his brief gaze on her and met his eyes for a second before looking away.
'Wretched indeed'.
On the King's left was his own Mother and Grandsire and he with Daeron next to them.
All were wearing green.
The Kingsguard was evenly split between both sides, with Ser Rickard's throne behind him.
When Lord Corlys and Rhaenys came to greet them with the rest of the Velaryon family, Urrigon was sure they themselves could see the division between the Royal family.
"Greetings your grace", said Lord Corlys, "I thank you for coming in such a trying time for our family."
He was a tall and lean man, he had long silvery greyish white hair that passed his shoulders and a beard to match, purple eyes that always seemed to hold untold schemes and ambition and the standard valyrian features.
Even at his old age he stood proud. He wore a deep blue doublet with a white cloak over his shoulder. A blue seahorse on it.
'But mother believes him arrogant' , thought Urrigon.
By the age seven-and-thirty, Lord Corlys was hailed as the greatest seafarer the Seven Kingdoms had ever known. His nine great voyages were legendary.
But the one Urrigon read the most of and favoured was his second Voyage.
Lord Corlys had sailed even farther east than his first voyage where he went beyond the Jade Gates to Yi Ti and Leng.
So far did he sail that he ended up becoming the first Westerosi ever to reach Asshai-by-the-Shadow.
Tales say that the Lord Velaryon even lost his first love and half of his crew in the mysterious city.
Urrigon had even heard that he encountered an old ship in Asshai's harbor called Sun Chaser, which Elissa Farman had sailed into the Sunset Sea west of Westeros.
Through his various exploits, trades and adventures Lord Corlys was named The Sea snake.
The Valyrian Lord deserved it.
"And greetings to your highness, Queen Alicent" , said Rhaenys.
Lady Rhaenys had black hair and pale lilac eyes. Traits she inherited from both her parents.
Jocelyn Baratheon, where her striking black came from and Aemon Targaryen who she inherited her valyrian eyes and features from.
She wore a red dress with a black cloak over it.
"There is no need for that, please we are family!", said Viserys smiling as he waddled to closer, "Especially since Laena was our family to."
Corlys walked to greet the King and the both shook hands and Rhaenys soon followed.
While the King and Lord talked and exchanged pleasantries Urrigon looked at those in the Sea Snake's party.
A sea of white hair and purple eyes were the general features of the crowd, most of them wearing clothing that identified themselves as members of house Velaryon.
The closer they were to Lord Corlys seemed to signify their importance as well. From forgettable faces in the back to the one's drawing his attention in the front.
On the right side it seemed as if his own family was there to greet them.
Aegon flew to Driftmark on his golden dragon Sunfyre and Helena on her purple beast dreamfyre ,she brought Aemond alongside with her.
Aegon attempted to do the same for him but it did not go as well as he hoped.
Dragons never did like Urrigon no matter how hard he tried.
Daeron on the other hand refused to ride any dragon until Tesarion was fully able and grown.
'Mother says a man must hold his vows!'said his little brother when asked why, Urrigon found it amusing since Aegon refused to ride a dragon when he was younger, though for a different reason.
While Aemond and Helena were properly dressed and stood with posture and poise their mother had drilled into them,Aegon on the other hand seemed a little… unkempt.
His hair was barely brushed and his clothes seemed too common in appearance for greetings and the happy expression on his face while looking at him did not help.
'Aegon do you not know that you are not to smile the day before a funeral…and why does he seem so giddy?" , thought Urrigon, already feeling a headache coming.
Mother would scold Aegon for this he knew and Urrigon would of course attempt to comfort his brother.
As his eyes looked he saw three individuals and he could only recognise one of them.
Two of them were girls, most likely the daughters of the man in front of him.
The one he recognised,Nay the whole realm.
Daemon Targaryen.
He heard of his uncle, his mother and grandsire called him ambitious, impetuous, moody, arrogant and quick to anger.
The King and his sister Rhaenyra described him as dashing and daring, a charming and a kind man.
Despite all the contradictory stories they all believed one thing. Nay the realm saw it as a fact.
A renowned warrior skilled in the joust, hunting and swordplay. His conquering of the stepstones, though brief, echoed across the kingdoms and far beyond Essos.
Magistars and Lords of the east were desperate for his favour and maidens from all the lands threw themselves at him.
With silvery gold hair and the famed Valyrian features, even in the mist of those that shared his colorings all could admit that he was a handsome man.
'Second to me, bless be the seven' thought Urrigon.
The Rouge Prince. Daemon Targaryen.
His uncle's eyes scanned the crowd stopping at Rhaenyra for a moment before gazing through the crowd. He seemed to stop at his mother and grandsire but it was to quick for Viserys to notice.
That's when his amethyst eyes found him.
"Ah my darling nephew", said Daemon as he walked towards him, he didn't even bother to greet the King or any other member of the royal party.
He stopped right in front of him. He was tall, far taller than everyone Urrigon has ever met.
Daemon slapped a hand on his shoulder and while his other rested on his blade.
"Urrigon was it?"said Daemon,"You are the one that has a Hightower name, you even have their hair".
The dock was silent and all were staring at them both.
"It would seem so Prince Daemon?", asked Urrigon looking up at the man.
"Please call me uncle"
"Uncl—"
"Perish the thought, it sounds like poison from your tongue". said Daemon as he shook his head.
The Rouge prince stared at his face further, scrutinizing him, "You have at least inherited some Targaryen features, with you having my mother's eyes…along with some others.."
"Are you not too jovial for a grieving husband, uncle?" , spat Urrigon, his face held no expression but his voice did not withhold his annoyance with the elder prince.
Instantly he knew he made a mistake by the tightening of his uncle's hand on his shoulder.
But he did not look away, he refused to.
The King spoke, clearly uneasy at the atmosphere,"Brother…you forgot to greet m–"
Rhaenyra to seemed quick to intervene,"Uncle it has been so lo–"
Suddenly Daemon threw his head back and started to laugh,"Oh nephew such jests you say".
The louder Daemon laughed the tighter his grip became.
Everyone around them showed signs of discomfort, Ser Rickard and Criston looked ready to step in.
"But I must insist nephew", said Daemon suddenly as he let goes of his nephews shoulder and tapped him on the cheek roughly, "You are no fool nephew, though with that hair and those clothes you sure look the part".
Urrigon grabbed Daemon's hand, his teeth clenching."Why thank you for your kind words uncle".
How many would lay their hands on him without his permission!?First Alys and then this fiend!
Perhaps he should punish the next person that dared to…
"Such a strong grip nephew", said Daemon pulling his hand out of grip," And speaking of Strongs…"
Daemon walked around Urrigon,as if measuring his worth, until he was directly behind him,"How does it feel nephew".
Urrigon turned his head to look at him ,his face a mast of indifference,"Please finish your sentence uncle, how does what feel".
He felt the Royal party burn a whole through his head but he stared on.
'If only i didnt give that bastard back his blade'thought Urigon.
Amethyst eyes met Amethyst and Emerald eyes. Daemon gave a hollow smile, his eyes piercing him.
"Enough jests boy"Daemon raised his voice for all to hear while grabbing Urrigon's right arm.
His sword arm.
"Was this it? Was this the hand that slayed Harwin? How did it feel when you murdered once more?"
Urrigon's heart stopped.
