The war between the two objects waged on for a few more minutes, each trying to fight for supremacy. Only after fifteen minutes was the weighing finalised.
An uncomfortable fifteen minutes of the Heart pulsing more and more power. Simultaneously the feather too began emitting more and more power to counter the heart.
The three gods could only stare in silence as a literal heart and feather trying to out 'lighten' each other.
Finally, after the strange battle, Marco's heart which was still pulsing with sinister power won. The heart was clearly lighter than the feather.
Proving now without a shadow of a doubt that Marco had no sinister intentions.
Although the results were finalised Anubis could not help but continue staring at the still pulsing heart.
When he was about to take a step forward the heart stopped pulsing. As if the previous scene had been a lie the heart's colour began becoming duller by the second.
Once it was a beautiful onyx black, but now its colour faded to the point of becoming ash grey.
Still curious Anubis tried to touch the rapidly 'decolouring', but the moment his hand touched the heart part of it collapsed.
Slightly panicked he withdrew his hand and continued observing the heart.
As the heart showed no further changes he once again tried reaching for it. Though the result remained the same yet different.
This time the moment his finger touched the heart it simply collapsed into ashes. As though it were a symbol of the passing times the heart disintegrated.
All while the microscopic ashes were scattered without the help of even a breeze.
As Anubis was observing his heart, Marco felt his once empty chest cavity was now filled. The moment the judgement finished he felt whatever that was keeping his heart from regenerating fading away.
As that influence left him he could only look wearily upon Anubis. "This god is extremely dangerous..."
He grasped his now healed chest and thought "If this man ever became my enemy... I need to somehow deal with him before he can exert his influence on me."
Dangerous thoughts started racing Marco's head while similar thoughts raced through Anubis's head.
Still staring at his scale, the god of death began diving into deep thought. "This man is dangerous, the power his heart displayed a few moments ago was simply surreal."
Anubis waved his hand as the scales dissipated and the feather was stored away. Now turning his weary gaze upon Marco.
"If I ever want to deal with this man I have to proceed carefully. Most likely I need to cripple him while using several gods to attack him with soul damaging equipment to be safe."
These thoughts raced through both men's thoughts. The two having realised exactly how dangerous each other are, immediately began to strategise counter measures.
Seeing the two in deep thought while looking at each other Thanatos chuckled.
This simple yet extremely out of place chuckle brought the two men back to their senses. They just realised that had been staring at each other with eyes full of caution and mistrust.
Cough, Anubis cough lightly in an attempt to dispell the awkward atmosphere. "You have passed the test."
Anubis couldn't help but cringe internally at this statement. He knows that something is definitely wrong with the scene he witnessed earlier. Having seen a literal heart and feather fighting for dominance was simply ridiculous ok?
But since he was the one that set the test it would be rude for him to brush off Marco's 'success' no matter how much he really wanted to.
"As a reward, you can make one request of me, now what do you desire?" Anubis asked already regretting uttering those words.
