Vitpacar, the former bastion of the demi-human empire, was now firmly within Valar's grasp. It was taken by Cedric's forces and was now occupied by members of the 4th legion. The settlers arrived and filled the empty residences, which finally breathed life into a shell of the fortress town.
The former residents were working in the mines, some in the brothels, and some unfortunately died when they attempted to run away. Yet it did not matter. The victory over Vitpacar was a testament to Humanity's power.
Grahm had witnessed the power of the Angels. He had witnessed the power of Cedric. It was phenomenal, the victory in Vitpacar was more testament to his power than to humanity's own.
The brutal efficiency, the stone-cold gazes. If they had access to those beings, humanity. would have been the ones who spread across the continent. He had worked shoulder to shoulder with them to clean and prepare Vitpacar for human settlers.
What surprised Grahm the most was that the Angels actually listened to him when he was organizing the reparation efforts. While it was a fortunate development, it was very much unexpected.
The old general pushed himself from his chair and approached the simple wooden door that separated him from and rest of the noise of the newly conquered town. His hand wrapped around the handle and pushed the door out.
He made it a habit to inspect the town every day, just in case of a demi-human attack. Of course, his soldiers would be able to sound an alarm, but it did not mean that he wanted to be stuck in an office all day.
The Angels made sure the workload was almost non-existent other than city administration, which was something that he admittedly was terrible at. His profession was leading legions into war, even if they were not the most disciplined.
"Grahm!" His body froze. From behind him, the familiar voice entered his ears. His hand travelled to his sheathed sword. The voice belonged to Aurelia; however, Aurelia was in Valar. She could not have traveled so fast.
However, there were also rumors of her gaining immense power due to Cedric, and a rumor that she had become a queen. He drew his blade and turned to the girl.
She was definitely Aurelia. Long blonde hair, blue eyes. However, she did not wear armor; instead, she was in a crimson dress. What's more, she also wore a crown. This most certainly was an assassin.
He jumped back and prepared to fight for his life.
"How do you know my name, Assassin!?" He shouted, his hand already tightening around the hilt.
His eyes scanned the girl from top to bottom, despite it perfectly copying the appearance of a young princess, it did not behave like Aurelia. The way the pretender held itself. The sheer confidence in her stature told him that this was not Aurelia.
Aurelia tilted her head, "What do you mean? It's me. Your princess and commander."
Grahm's brows furrowed, his grip tightened, "Prove it." He raised his blade against the pretender.
The assassin raised her hands up, "I am Aurelia, 3rd daughter of Avaros. Cedric's soon-to-be fiancée, and the Queen of Valar."
Grahm sighed in relief, the moment she had mentioned the hero it his doubts evaporated. Only she would so brazenly call someone like him her fiancé.
"Aurelia, how are you here. And why did you not announce your arrival? I could have killed you." Grahm sheathed his blade. However, instead of apologizing, she placed her hands on her hips.
"Heh~ I doubt it. My dear Cedric had made me powerful enough to rival even the gods!" Aurelia spoke with so much pride that Grahm almost started doubting it was Aurelia, yet he was sure it was her.
Her statement made him curious; he had heard the rumors, and now the rumored queen stood before him. "Do you plan to explain that statement?"
"Of course! I always want to brag about my beloved's deeds."
'That's her for sure...' Grahm relaxed, he didn't need any further proof. However, he was still very curious about what happened.
"I am sure you want some proof... but I don't wanna break Vitpacar by accident... hmmm." She scratched her chin before she clapped her hands together.
"I will show you a skill my dear had given me!" She turned her back to Grahm and stretched her hand forward.
Gram approached slowly, his confusion plastered on his face.
"I believe you, Aurelia. No need to prove it to me."
"No, I want to!" She smiled before using a skill, [Create Lesser Angelic Construct: Guardian Angel]
Much like Cedric's [Create Angelic Construct], Aurelia's skill would create Angels; however, it was limited to the 3rd Sphere. The circle of light overtook the street, and it was so bright that Grahm was forced to cover his eyes.
Yet Aurelia, who was very much enjoying the light, grinned as a form of a new Guardian Angel appeared before her.
Grahm's eyes fluttered open, and his body shook as he approached the Guardian. "Is that... an Angel?!"
"Yep! It's a long story, but Cedric gave me many new abilities and a lot of power. I will tell you everything, and then I have to teleport back to Valar."
"Teleport?!" Cold sweat ran down Grahm's face. He attempted to regain composure, but how could he when Aurelia, someone who was weak, and the last person he would expect to gain so much power, just displayed a feat on the level of their hero.
"Cedric spared no expense in my ascension."
"So does that mean you managed to seduce the hero?" Grahm crossed his arms.
"Nope... but I think he started liking me a lot! He even said he didn't mind the marriage once God decides it to be so."
Grahm pinched his nose bridge, "You don't need to brag so much. I am not blind..."
"We should talk, a lot of things happened in Valar while you were stationed here." Aurelia smiled as she gestured for Grahm to lead the way.
"Sure, let's go. I am curious if all the rumors are true."
