Two principalities spent a couple of days preparing the land near Vitpacar for the construction of New Jerusalem. By their Father's will, the city had to be perfect, and so they would make it so. While they were not the best options, it did not mean they couldn't coordinate the Guardians and the Archangels.
Talia held a blueprint of the new city. Preparing and planning a large and well-defended city was hard work, yet she had to prove to Father that she was capable. Her brother, Samuel, was in charge of procuring the materials, which left her with the architectural plan as her main mission.
She rolled up the blueprint as she stared into the distance. The rows of Guardians carried massive stone blocks, while another row dug the foundations of the buildings. Most importantly, they created a foundation for what would be a grand cathedral.
The principality vowed that this city would be worthy of Father's presence, and so she had worked tirelessly to plan and cover any possible mistake. While it would mostly be used by the Angels, it did not mean humans wouldn't wish to move in.
On the contrary, the Father had explicitly mentioned that humans would live inside the city of New Jerusalem. For that goal, many systems had to be developed. Sewers, residential areas, and commercial areas.
Even the relaxation areas needed to be built. This settlement needed to be a perfect utopia. The layout would need to be perfect, it had to be free of any crime, and it had to be safe for all fortunate enough to live in the holy city.
Talia stretched her wings, and with a massive burst of air, she raised herself into the sky. Her eyes scanned the flattened land. A large canal was at the beginning of the excavation towards the ocean, a massive project in itself that would take months even for the Guardians to complete.
A large stretch of the Wall foundations snaked around the perimeter, thick enough to be mistaken for a riverbank. The cut stone was set, creating the wide roads and the residential perimeters.
The Angels worked tirelessly; they required no food, no sleep, and no rest whatsoever. And with their immense strength, they were perfect workers. Each Angel could do work for 1000 humans quite comfortably.
Their precision was mechanical, their will unyielding. They were perfect warriors and perfect toilers. Thus, the construction was moving forward at speeds unprecedented in this or any other world.
Talia brought her hand and tapped her cheek as she observed the diligent Guardians, "They are... beautiful." She couldn't help but admire Father's creations. If they gave them a mere month, the city would be constructed, and what's more, it would rival, no, they would trump even the grandest architectures of the pagan gods.
Much like termites disassemble wood, the Angels dug and cut through soil and stone. They were perfect workers in every sense of the word. Cut, Chisel, Build. Talia crossed her arms as she scanned the environment for her brother, who was in charge of gathering the material and processing it.
[Samuel, how are your tasks coming along?]
[Very well, sis Talia. We have excavated a large amount of Marble, Limestone, and even Granite that we can use for building. Of course, that includes a large amount of minerals.]
[Good, do you require any more Guardians?]
[Not at all, I will join you very soon.]
With the final words, a connection was cut, leaving Talia to analyze and think about the construction. One by one, large stone tiles that would form the large roads were placed and secured.
The walls slowly gained height as hundreds of Guardians effortlessly stacked perfectly cut stones on top of each other. 4 Spaces were left, each facing the respective cardinal direction. These gaps would act as access points, or gates.
In the middle of the new city, where 4 cardinal roads intersected, a space was left for a statue of Father. It was an important piece that needed to be done to the utmost perfection. While it was to be done at the very end of the project, she had to make preparations.
After a moment of silence, she noticed an angelic form flying towards her. It was Samuel, her brother, and another person responsible for the creation of New Jerusalem. She turned her head toward the approaching white dot.
"Talia!" Samuel smiled as he placed his hand on his shoulder and bowed. Talia's lips stretched into a thin line as she turned back to the city.
"I'm just so mesmerized by these guardians working so well. However, I still feel bad for not doing any actual labor." Talia sighed.
Samuel shook his head, "Don't be so down, sis, you are organizing the entire building process. I would struggle with it. All of us have the roles we must fulfil. Is it not the reason Father had summoned so many different classes of our brothers and sisters?"
Talia blinked in a slow and deliberate manner as she relaxed her posture. "I know. Yet I would like to help with construction a little bit at least."
"What's stopping you? Two of us can speed up the construction of the wall very easily." He grinned as he stared at his sister. The girl was worried that she was not doing enough, and yet it was because of her organization that the Guardians were able to construct the city so quickly.
Her head slumped slightly, and her smile faded. "Someone has to do this, too..."
It was his brotherly duty to encourage her, "I am sure that father would be very proud of what you are doing here. Look at me, I am just getting materials, while important, it's nowhere close to your task's weight."
He floated closer and placed his hand over Talia's shoulders. "I can take over your task for a bit, then. Would that make you feel better?"
"Yes..." Talia nodded.
"Great! You know you can rely on me, Tali!"
"I know, thank you so much!" She lunged towards Samuel and wrapped her hands around his body as tightly as she could. His hand moved up her hair and gently patted his sister's head.
However, a connection to Father opened, and a short order was made.
[To all Legions.]
[Prepare for the Invasion of the Divine Realm. Converge near the nest I am in currently.]
[Deus Vult!]
The siblings separated, and their faces gained serious expression. The City had to wait. Father had made a new order that took precedence over all else. With a silent nod, the Guardians who worked tirelessly on the city flew into the air, and with Samuel and Talia, they charged towards Father's location.
