"Boom!"
The moment Jiang Chen's consciousness touched the Book of Time, an instant explosion of roaring information flooded his mind.
"Whoosh!"
Illusory waves swept around, and the dense power of Time began to spread around the Book of Time.
Jiang Chen was completely enveloped by the force of Time itself.
Time slowly passed away in this form, and how long had passed was impossible to say. It was also unknown as to how long this scene lasted.
Suddenly, Jiang Chen opened his eyes.
"It worked!" He muttered to himself with a pleased look crossing his face.
Although he already suspected that the Book of Time could most likely traverse past and future, without truly feeling it firsthand, Jiang Chen still felt uncertain inside. After all, he was not the true master of the Book of Time.
He couldn't fully command its full power and could only use some fraction of it. Traveling through Space might be possible for him using the Book of Time, but traveling through Time, that was something he hadn't dared to guarantee.
Fortunately, the Supreme Kai of Time was trustworthy and had allowed him to do so. If the Book of Time granted him the power, it really granted him. Even mobilizing the power of Time and Space to traverse Time itself was achievable now for him.
"Whoosh!"
Illusory waves surged, and the power of Time began to activate the Book of Time.
"Boom! Rumble! Rumble!"
The entire City of Time began to shake violently, strands of Time's power weaving together. Invisible ripples swept outward in all directions. Then, a phantom river appeared at the location of the City of Time.
Jiang Chen sensed it carefully, then took a step forward, his figure stepping directly into the illusory river. As he entered the river, it trembled violently and then began rapidly spreading toward the Third Time and Space, Seventh Universe.
"Whoosh! Boom! Rumble! Rumble!"
The power of Time stirred up huge waves and inside the illusory river, Jiang Chen saw one scene after another.
There was the battle scene on Namek against Frieza.
There were scenes of his training on Earth.
There were moments on Planet Yardrat and again on Namek.
And also scenes from Planet Vegeta.
Jiang Chen even saw with his own eyes two descending lights on Planet Vegeta.
…
On Planet Vegeta.
In the past Time and Space.
"Fluctuation in Time and Space?" Beerus frowned, his gaze instinctively rising toward the sky.
In his hand, a destructive energy ball was about to instantly form.
"Lord Beerus, you cannot just strike so casually," Whis's light laugh echoed softly, a gentle light instantly blocking Beerus's aura.
"Whis?" Beerus frowned and looked toward Whis.
"Lord Beerus, feel this power more carefully, that is not a criminal destroying Time and Space, but a Spiritual God from the City of Time." Whis said with a light laugh.
"The City of Time… what a troublesome bunch! Hmph! Whis, I'm getting sleepy!" Beerus sensed the power once more and then curled his lips in displeasure before speaking.
"Lord Beerus, this is Planet Vegeta. I've heard they are now Frieza's most loyal subordinates. You should be able to find the perfect pillow here!" Whis chuckled softly as he spoke.
"Is that so? Well then, I'm really looking forward to it." Beerus's eyes brightened as he nodded slightly.
Then the two walked into the Royal Palace of Planet Vegeta.
At this moment, Jiang Chen, drifting within the Time River, naturally had no clear understanding of this, nor would he have cared if he had known this. His gaze observed everything about Planet Vegeta until the moment he descended.
"Pfft!"
Like a thin membrane being pierced, the flow of time suddenly accelerated. One scene after another rapidly appeared.
Time flowed swiftly.
Ten years.
Fifty years.
One hundred years.
In the blink of an eye, over a thousand years seemed to have passed.
"Whoosh!"
The tidal waves surged once more and then the entire Time River paused briefly.
One thousand years ago.
Planet Vegeta.
Inside a huge cave.
After an unknown amount of time, Bardock, who had been lying flat in the cave, suddenly opened his eyes. At that moment, his figure instantly sprang up, his senses extremely alert as he carefully scanned the surroundings.
But at this look, his expression immediately froze.
Contrary to what he had imagined, a shattered Planet Vegeta, he was instead in a simple cave, but inside it was well furnished: with tables, chairs, and some regular supplies.
"Am I dead?" Bardock muttered with a puzzled look on his face. His last memory was of him charging at Frieza. But he was instantly overwhelmed by Frieza's terrifying energy shockwave.
At that instant, Frieza's overwhelming power made him feel a trembling from the depths of his soul. Even though he had exploded out with all his might and used every bit of his power, he still couldn't resist.
Now the sudden change in the environment made him instantly wonder if he was dead.
"Damn that Frieza, how could he be so strong! I'm completely no match for him!" Bardock muttered to himself, but soon he felt that something was wrong.
"No, I'm not dead yet! My aura!" He murmured to himself and then seemed to remember something, quickly starting to fumble at the scouter on his eye.
Sure enough, the scouter was still there.
"Beep Beep!"
Without hesitation, he quickly powered on the scouter.
"Clang!"
But the moment the scouter powered on, it instantly sparked and burst into flames. He was using the latest model scouter, capable of detecting Battle Power over 20,000, yet it instantly exploded.
At that moment, his eyes widened in shock. His previous Battle Power had only just surpassed 10,000 points, and now it had surged again.
"You're awake!" Just as his emotions surged, a gentle voice sounded from beside him.
The sudden voice startled Bardock and he instinctively turned his head and saw two aliens, one tall, one short. Both aliens looked extremely strange, with pale purple skin, oval purple heads, and two antenna-like eyes.
"Who are you?" Bardock frowned.
"Relax, you're too wary! I'm the village doctor here, named Iba'na, and this is my son, Bely! I found you badly injured in the forest nearby and brought you back to treat you!" Iba'na smiled as he spoke, then placed a bowl of medicinal broth on the nearby table.
"By the way, your wounds haven't fully healed yet. Let me apply this for you, it can speed up your recovery." Iba'na took something as she spoke and applied it to Bardock's wounds.
Immediately, a green light enveloped Bardock.
