"Mia, did I totally embarrass myself yesterday?" Emily asked, her cheeks slightly flushed with embarrassment as she spoke to her friend in the morning.
Mia was lounging on a chaise longue, engrossed in the book she held in her hands.
Seeing no response from Mia, Emily snatched the book away, complaining, "Come on, I'm talking to you, and you're just reading your book."
Mia finally lifted her eyelids and glanced at her friend.
"So, did your husband say anything about me last night when you were together?" Emily asked, her eyes wide with a pleading look.
William had already left for the office before Emily even woke up, as the housekeeper had informed her.
This realization filled Emily with regret because she had acted so awkwardly in front of her idol the previous evening.
"He didn't say anything; he was exhausted after getting off the plane and fell asleep as soon as he got to the room... But he did say you're quite adorable."
