Rachel furrowed her brow at Luna's assertion that Kingsly could never love her. She spoke softly, "Your understanding of love is wrong. Pity and sympathy can never equate to love."
Luna laughed bitterly. "You have no right to say that to me, Rachel, because—didn't Kingsly's feelings for you start with pity and sympathy too?"
"You don't need to say such things to me, Luna. If you think you can still drive a wedge between Kingsly and me today."
"I'm not trying to drive a wedge between you, Rachel… Anyway, let's get back to our earlier discussion on human nature." Luna said wistfully, "Perhaps I did some things against my conscience to make Kingsly have a bad impression of you, but I never actually did anything to harm you. But Rachel, you know Maggie helped me out of friendship, and she never did anything to harm you either. So why did you ruin her marriage to Leo?"
Rachel was taken aback. "What are you talking about?"
