Leo Thompson, being a bachelor, naturally stayed to have dinner with them.
Since getting pregnant, her appetite has increased. Even after Kingsly and Leo finished eating and went to the balcony to chat, she was still clearing the food off her plate.
"Mr. Scott, you must have done something good in your past life to have such a devoted woman by your side in this one," Leo said, leaning against the balcony railing and gently swirling the red wine in his hand.
Kingsly glanced at her. Perhaps he found her eating cute, as the corners of his mouth curled slightly, but he didn't verbally respond to Leo. He just took a sip of his wine.
"Honestly, I'm surprised Rachel forgave you," Leo said, taking a sip of his wine and dropping his usual playful demeanor to speak seriously.
Kingsly looked out at the dazzling city nightscape, his eyes deep and distant. "She had no choice."
Leo furrowed his brow slightly. "Because she loves you?"
"Because of the two children."
