"Grandfather, he saved me!"
Mariko Yashida stood protectively in front of Logan, looking pleadingly at Ichirō Yashida, the grandfather who had doted on her the most.
Yukio was even more direct, telling Ichirō, "Sir, it is wrong for you to treat your own savior this way."
She knew that Logan had saved Ichirō's life. She had also witnessed the scenes after Logan arrived in Japan, how he had desperately protected Mariko Yashida to honor his old friend's last wishes.
A person so loyal and righteous deserved respect, not to be insulted, conspired against, and murdered.
"It seems I have not taught you well enough," Ichirō Yashida said flatly, the sword he had slightly lowered now slowly rising again.
"Immortality. As long as I have immortality, I can obtain anything. What do you two count for? How dare you stand in my way?"
As Ichirō's words grew colder, Yukio's and Mariko's faces turned deathly pale, as white as paper.
"How dare you obstruct me!"
With a furious roar, Ichirō Yashida swung the sword down viciously.
The frigid killing intent seemed to stir up a violent wind, completely blowing away any respect or affection Mariko and Yukio held for Ichirō.
The two tried desperately to dodge, but another blade swept out horizontally, trapping them within the Silver Samurai's attack range.
Just as the two were about to be sliced in half, a figure quietly appeared, blocking the Silver Samurai and catching the descending blade with his bare hand.
Only then did the howling wind from his flight and the thunderous boom from him smashing through the tower wall finally arrive, reaching everyone's ears.
Looking at the person who had appeared from nowhere, Ichirō Yashida's eyes narrowed, and his already overburdened heart contracted violently.
It was Michael Kent!
Mariko and Yukio were also completely stunned to see Michael suddenly appear. In contrast, Viper, who had been hiding at the very back, shrank into the crowd of ninjas the moment she saw Michael, intending to slip away unnoticed.
But just then, a person who had been smashed into a bloody pulp crawled up from the ground.
He twisted his own neck, which was making creaking sounds, like a zombie climbing out of a mountain of corpses.
"Fuck! Michael Kent, that absolute lunatic, actually threw me from that high up. I feel like I'm about to fall apart."
Daken muttered, but his eyes were fixed on Lady Viper. His face, still rapidly healing but looking gruesome, split into a cold, menacing grin.
"Hey, beautiful. Where are you going?"
Viper's footsteps faltered. A trace of malice flashed in her emerald-green eyes, but she quickly said in a low voice, "This has nothing to do with me."
"Whether it has anything to do with you isn't for you to decide, nor is it for me to decide."
Daken smiled, pointing at Michael not far away, and at Emma, who was flying in quickly through the large hole Michael had created.
"It's for them to decide. After all, I'm their prisoner, too."
Viper glanced at Michael and Emma and, without hesitation, turned to run. But Emma's gaze turned cold, and she blocked Viper's path.
Viper forced a smile and said, "I was just doing a job for someone. Let me go, White Queen."
If it were anyone else, she might have dared to fight to the death, but this was the White Queen.
Emma looked at Viper expressionlessly, but her psionic power had already emerged, extending silently toward Viper.
But...
"A psychic dampener?"
Emma murmured in a low voice, staring at Viper. "So, you're the one responsible for the thing on Logan?"
It was precisely because of this device's existence that she couldn't find Logan.
She glanced at Logan's miserable state, noting that the wounds on his body were not healing. Her eyes grew even colder.
Viper forced another smile, trying to explain herself, but her body was slowly inching backward.
On the other side, Michael casually tossed aside the Silver Samurai's sword and also noticed that Logan's wounds were currently unable to heal.
His brow furrowed, and a card appeared in his hand.
As the card dissolved into motes of light, streams of green light filled with life energy wrapped around Logan's body, beginning to heal his injuries.
Logan climbed up from the ground, looked at Michael and Emma, and gave a wry smile. "For a moment there, I really thought I was going to die here."
"Where's your communication ring?"
Michael looked at Logan's fingers, which were bare, and couldn't help but ask.
Besides the Kent family, only a few key individuals on Planet Kent and some of Michael's old friends possessed these communication rings, such as some of the older X-Men, Nick Fury, and so on.
Although it sounded like a lot, compared to the vast number of mutants on Planet Kent, it was a pitifully small amount.
Logan scratched his head, looking at the Silver Samurai climbing back up from the ground, and said helplessly, "It must have been stolen by them."
If his communication ring hadn't been lost, he could have called Planet Kent for help.
Michael waved his hand. "It's fine. The ring is traceable, it should be somewhere nearby. We'll look for it later."
He glanced at the Silver Samurai, who was already on his feet and charging at them again. "Let's deal with him first. But what's going on with your powers?"
"Something was put inside Logan's body," Mariko Yashida said quickly.
Michael's body flickered. He casually punched the charging Silver Samurai, sending him flying once more, then turned to look at Logan.
His super-vision penetrated Logan's body, revealing a small object inside him.
A small device, looking like a cross between a spider and a worm, was clinging to Logan's heart, rising and falling with its every beat.
So that's it?
Michael flew toward Logan. "This might hurt a little."
Before Logan could reply, a card in Michael's fingertips dissolved into motes of light.
Name: Magneto Introduction: A powerful mutant with the ability to control magnetism. Remark: I like big scenes.
As a phantom image merged into Michael's body as light, he swiped his palm. Like a blade, it cut an incision in Logan's abdomen with extreme speed. With a flick of his fingers, a struggling, silver metallic bug was pulled out of Logan's body.
Logan gasped. Seeing the wound on his stomach healing rapidly, he looked at the bug floating in mid-air and twitched his lips.
That was the thing that had suppressed his powers and blocked telepathy?
He gave a low growl, swiped his claws, and a cold light flashed, slicing the bug into several pieces.
Just then, the Silver Samurai charged over again. As Michael raised his hand, preparing to use his manifested ability to crush the man directly, Logan said coldly, "I'll handle him!"
With that, he charged forward.
Back then, he was the one who saved Ichirō Yashida. Now, he could also be the one to kill him! To kill this disgusting, vile man!
Only by doing this could he vent the fury in his chest.
Michael looked indifferent, standing back to watch the battlefield.
While he was helping Logan with his little problem, Daken had already started slaughtering the ninjas, and Emma was now facing off against Viper.
Compared to Logan's self-restraint regarding killing, Daken's was much weaker. This made him appear far more brutal as he faced the ninjas.
He also had three bone claws, but unlike Logan or Laura from the Old Man Logan timeline, two of his claws extended from between his knuckles, while the third emerged from his wrist.
This added an extra layer of ferocity to him.
"Haha!"
He tore through them, paying no mind to the wounds the enemies left on his body. He slaughtered his foes like a madman, venting his own anger.
From his defeat at Logan's hands, to encountering Michael and Emma, and then to being brought here, he had been suppressing a belly full of fire.
Now, these ninjas were the perfect outlet.
Stabbing a ninja through the heart, Daken pulled out his blood-stained claws and glanced back at Emma, who was fighting Viper. A look of amazement flashed in his eyes.
At this moment, Emma had already shifted into her diamond form, turning into a dazzling diamond person. Viper's venom and sharp fingernails were completely useless against her.
"Hmph!"
Emma, feeling the claws rake across her body without any pain, snorted coldly and slammed a fist into Viper's stomach.
Viper cried out in pain, but she used the opening to spit a mouthful of green venom directly at Emma's face.
The venom had no effect on Emma, but it made her feel as if she had just been spat upon.
Truly disgusting.
Emma's eyes grew even colder. Her dazzling, diamond fists rained down on Viper's body relentlessly.
Viper tried her best to defend herself, but she was still sent reeling from the blows of the hard diamond.
Suddenly, as Emma's fist landed on Viper's body again, forcing Viper to double over in pain, Emma grabbed Viper's long golden hair, yanked it down hard, and her shining diamond knee expanded in Viper's vision.
"Bang!"
With a heavy, muffled thud, Viper's face looked as if it had been struck by a hammer, and blood instantly gushed out.
She clutched her face, screaming angrily, "You... You goddamn bitch!"
Emma sneered. She dashed forward, and her fists began to strike with even more vicious and cunning angles, making Michael, who was watching the show, shiver.
When women fought, especially hand-to-hand, it was truly terrifying.
A few seconds later, as Emma's fists landed on Viper's head again and again, Viper was beaten until she was bleeding from all seven orifices, finally becoming a corpse.
"Hmph!"
Emma glanced coldly at the body, then turned to look at the fights with Daken and Logan. Having vented her anger, a trace of impatience flashed in her eyes.
It was time to end this.
With that thought, Emma deactivated her diamond form.
In the next instant, her psionic power swept across the battlefield like an invisible storm. All the ninjas fighting Daken froze in place like puppets.
Emma walked slowly through the ninjas. The ones she controlled, like stringed puppets, used their own weapons to stab at their teammates' vital points.
Thud, thud.
One by one, bodies fell like wheat being scythed, amidst spurts of blood. Emma, untouched by a single drop, walked slowly through the corpses like an ice queen.
Daken's eyes went wide. He couldn't help but gulp, his gaze toward Emma holding a trace of fear, but even more so, astonishment and unconcealed admiration.
Suddenly, his hand raised up, seemingly of its own accord, and slapped him hard across his own face.
"Slap!"
With a crisp sound, Emma looked away.
Daken chuckled, his gaze becoming slightly more restrained.
"Logan, I'm stepping in."
Emma looked at the Silver Samurai and said flatly, her voice laced with impatience, "We need to get back and prepare for the wedding."
Logan rolled on the ground, dodging the samurai's downward slash, and roared back at Emma, "He has a psychic dampener!"
A psychic dampener, combined with a nearly indestructible suit of adamantium armor. This combination had turned the old, decaying Ichirō Yashida into a terrifying weapon, leaving Logan with no way to deal with him.
"Hmph!"
Emma snorted disdainfully.
A psychic dampener?
Did he really think she had no way to deal with such a thing?
The device could indeed block psionic power, but it wasn't Kryptonian-made. At this close range, and against only one enemy...
With a thought, Emma concentrated a massive amount of psionic energy and stabbed it fiercely into the Silver Samurai. It was like a tangible storm, madly eroding Ichirō Yashida's brain.
Instantly, the psychic dampener, which Ichirō had acquired from who-knows-where, was overwhelmed. Cracks appeared on its surface before it shattered completely.
Ichirō Yashida was shocked and furious, but he was powerless. He could only watch as he lost control of his body, and then as 'he' piloted the Silver Samurai suit to tear his own frail body out of the armor.
"Thud!"
He was tossed to the ground like a bag of trash, his entire being exuding the stench of decay.
Without the Silver Samurai armor sustaining his life, every breath he took was an immense struggle. He gasped like a fish on the verge of suffocating, struggling desperately.
He looked at Logan with resentment, his eyes filled with venomous hatred.
He was so close, so close to completing his plan for immortality.
Damn it, damn it all! Why wouldn't he give it to him? Why wouldn't he give his ability to him? Hadn't Logan saved him before? Why wouldn't he save him now? Why?
He cursed Logan viciously.
Just then, Logan walked slowly toward him. He grabbed Ichirō's head, lifted him from the ground, and pressed his fist against his chin.
"You are disgusting."
As Logan's cold voice faded, a single claw popped from his knuckles, piercing Ichirō Yashida's head.
Ichirō's body convulsed and then went still, becoming a corpse. The venomous hatred in his cloudy eyes slowly dissipated.
Logan dropped the body, the rage in his heart quickly fading.
He hadn't wanted to give him the claw; he had intended to just let him die quietly. But the man's venomous stare had truly infuriated him.
Mariko and Yukio looked at Ichirō's body, a trace of sadness in their eyes.
"Goodbye," Logan said to them flatly.
Mariko looked at Logan, her eyes full of reluctance to see him go.
"Hmph!"
Emma snorted coldly. Logan just shrugged, a look of innocence on his face.
Michael hooked his finger, and a ring flew out of Ichirō Yashida's pocket and floated toward Logan.
"Let's go."
A portal card appeared between Michael's fingers.
"Wait!"
Daken shouted, walking toward Logan with a hostile expression.
