This was the last Kryptonian in this war.

Watching the Kryptonian woman being blasted away by Clark's punch, Mike's eyes flickered.

Clark was still too kind. That was probably the reason he had been restrained by his so-called "fellow countryman" for so long. In that case, he and this father…

With a flash, he appeared behind the woman. At the same time, a short Kryptonite spear materialized in his hand, and he swung it toward the Kryptonian woman, Shelley.

Sensing the danger behind her and her rapidly weakening powers, Shelley twisted her body midair while falling back, allowing the short spear to pierce through her arm.

In an instant, Shelley's body went limp and fell to the ground. Her eyes filled with shock as she stared at the spear that pierced her arm, helpless as Mike pinned her to the deck of the Helicarrier using the Kryptonite spear.

Weakened by the Kryptonite, she lay prone on the deck, lifting her head to look at Mike. In her eyes were both fear and a sense of betrayal.

Betrayal?

Mike gave a faint smile. Did she really think he was a fellow Kryptonian who had betrayed them?

He had already said she guessed wrong, but it seemed she never listened.

Ignoring the Kryptonian woman, Mike glanced at the approaching Thor and Clark, then nodded at Thor. "Congratulations on reclaiming your powers."

Thor tossed his hammer lightly and gave Mike a smile.

Mike looked at Thor, the God of Thunder, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.

No matter how he looked at it, it just felt awkward.

The God of Thunder, Thor, had become the God of Thunder… Thor. Hopefully, Odin wouldn't mind.

That thought flashed briefly through Mike's mind. Then, he pointed toward the spatial gate and said to Thor, "You're needed over there."

Thor acknowledged with a nod, swung his hammer, and took off into the air. Along with Erik and Ororo, the three of them worked together to seal off the spatial gate once more.

This time, with their combined efforts, the gate was completely blocked.

Seeing this, Clark let out a sigh of relief.

As long as no more Chitauri poured in, clearing out the remaining enemies was only a matter of time.

Of course, the sooner, the better. Besides, the number of Chitauri that had already come through was enough to give them a serious headache.

Due to the interference of the Kryptonians, the superheroes' defense lines had collapsed, and the Chitauri had managed to escape their original containment zone, now spreading across the entire city.

If they weren't dealt with quickly and escaped beyond the city, things would get disastrous.

Clark's heart grew heavy.

Rip!

Just then, a ripping sound echoed out. Shelley, still pinned by the Kryptonite spear, let out a low growl and forcefully tore off half of her own arm. With a backward roll, she escaped from Mike's side.

As she felt her powers quickly returning, a trace of joy flashed in her eyes.

Seeing this, Clark tensed.

Mike pressed a hand on Clark's shoulder and said, "You go deal with the Leviathan beast. Leave her to me. There are some things I need to know."

Clark nodded, turned, and charged toward an oncoming Leviathan. His eyes glowed red as twin heat beams blasted through the creature, and his entire body passed through the beast's massive frame.

Meanwhile, Mike watched Shelley as she flew up into the air again. With a faint snort, he dispersed the Kryptonite spear in his hand. Pushing off slightly with his legs, he left two deep grooves on the Helicarrier's deck as he shot into the sky.

Mike was faster.

She had only managed to fly a short distance before Mike caught up, grabbed her, and slammed her back to the ground with a deafening crash.

Mike stepped on Shelley's body, one hand pressing down on her head while the other flipped to reveal a card.

Card Name: Memory Edit

Skill Description: Reach into the designated target's head to extract specific memories, pulling them out like a film reel. The extracted target will permanently lose the corresponding memory.

Note: Reaching into the head… Hehehe!

The card dissolved into light, and Mike's hand turned ethereal, or perhaps Shelley's head had turned into liquid. He reached directly into her skull. Amid Shelley's unease and fear, he gave a forceful pull—

Shhhk!

Shelley's memories spilled out like film reels, displaying themselves before Mike's eyes.

Mike quickly scanned through them, searching for the information he needed.

A few seconds later, Mike smiled slightly and waved his hand, dismissing the skill.

Instantly, all the memory reels vanished before his eyes.

Got it.

How many Kryptonians were there? Where were the remaining ones hiding?

And how was the spatial gate being activated?

Mike had found all the answers he needed.

He looked calmly at the terrified Shelley and said, "Goodbye."

"No—!"

With a scream of terror, her heart was pierced by a swiftly drawn short spear.

Mike stored the corpse into his dimensional pocket and nodded.

Neat and tidy—every one of the seven Kryptonians who came this time had been accounted for.

As for the rest of the Kryptonians…

Commander Faora had been sent to stop Clark, but now she was nowhere to be seen. She had likely been defeated—most probably knocked out rather than killed.

As for where Faora was now, he would have to ask Clark.

Aside from these few, there were still three more Kryptonians:

Zod, scientist Duncan, and a Kryptonian warrior named Bach.

And the Space Stone? It was in Zod's possession, aboard the Kryptonian mothership.

No wonder Mike couldn't find the Space Stone under the spatial gate—it wasn't on Earth at all. It wasn't under the gate.

Unlike the original storyline where a device activated the spatial portal, the Kryptonians' spatial gate was built with the Space Stone as its core, forming a two-way spatial passage.

With the Space Stone in their hands, they could open portals between any two points without needing to physically transport the Stone to the origin point.

This technology was a level—or several levels—above what appeared in the original plot.

Mike looked up at the sky and let out a soft breath as he watched Erik holding off the Chitauri.

Right now, he had bought time for the Brotherhood of Mutants and Charles' X-Men to gain favor with the public—hopefully aiding their future plans.

After all, he was the father of both men. Although he hadn't helped much with mutant affairs in the past, now, using someone else's battlefield, he gave their teams the stage to shine, helping the mutant race earn some goodwill.

Yes, apart from his curiosity about the Kryptonians' trump cards, this was one of his main motives. Otherwise, he could've simply used a Kryptonite spear to take out every enemy one by one.

Now that the situation was under control, it was time to end this war.

Mike whispered to himself as a stack of cards appeared in his hand.
