"Lucy! Lucy!"

Thor was sprinting down the street.

At that moment, only one thought occupied his mind:

Find Lucy!

It was that woman's final wish—a plea she made with her dying breath.

He, Thor the God of Thunder... had promised!

Loki watched Thor's retreating figure and couldn't help but curse angrily, "You idiot!"

You don't even know that woman. Was this really necessary?

And besides, do you even know what that child named Lucy looks like? Do you know where she is?

You know nothing! What the hell are you even looking for?

You're literally risking your life for nothing!

Damn it. You really should go peel a couple of potatoes to calm down!

Loki's expression shifted as his eyes narrowed. He gave a cold snort and walked off in the opposite direction instead of chasing after Thor.

Thor ran wildly along the street, roaring as he went. He hadn't gone far when, to his surprise, he actually heard a response.

It came from a girl walking alone down the street. She looked to be about ten years old.

Her eyes were filled with tears, and as she walked, she softly called out for her mother. When she heard Thor's voice, she quickly looked over.

A disheveled, chubby man?

The girl was startled. She froze, hesitant.

At the same time, Thor keenly noticed her gaze and immediately dashed over, shouting loudly, "Are you Lucy? Are you Lucy?!"

Seeing a large, burly man charging at her, the girl stepped back in fear—but she still nodded.

A flicker of joy flashed in Thor's eyes.

He had actually found her!

But before he could let the excitement sink in, he noticed several Chitauri soldiers breaking off from their squad and turning the corner onto the street. His expression changed, and he shouted to the girl, "Come here, quick!"

The girl hesitated. This chubby uncle didn't look like a good person.

But before she could think any further, that "chubby uncle" suddenly lunged at her, knocking her to the ground beneath him.

A second later, beams of energy blasted past above her head, slamming into the cars across the street, turning them into shredded metal before erupting in explosions.

The girl was frozen in terror. If she had still been standing, wouldn't her body have ended up just like that car, riddled with holes?

"Run!"

Thor grabbed her hand, bent down to glance at the approaching Chitauri, then looked around. Gritting his teeth, he bolted toward a nearby building.

But just after running a short distance, his expression changed again. He shielded the girl tightly to his chest.

Szzzt!

A beam of energy pierced through his shoulder and grazed the girl's cheek as it shot past.

Thor let out a cry of pain and, like a berserk lion, charged forward with bloodshot eyes, sprinting the remaining distance to the building.

They were getting close—but the Chitauri had already taken aim at the pair with their weapons.

Just before they reached the building, Thor gave the girl a mighty shove, sending her tumbling inside.

"Run!"

Thor roared.

A barrage of energy beams followed immediately. Thor curled his body and dove forward, but several rays still struck him.

His legs, his abdomen, his shoulder, and even... his chest!

Thor collapsed to the ground in agony, blood continuously pouring from the corners of his mouth.

Seeing this, Loki—who had returned without anyone noticing and was now hiding at the corner of the building—grew red-eyed and cursed under his breath.

"Idiot! Idiot! You fucking idiot!"

But when he saw the Chitauri raise their weapons again, he let out a low growl and charged out, grabbing Thor's hand and pulling him aside.

Zzzap! Zzzap!

Multiple beams blasted into the spot where Thor had just been lying, kicking up clouds of smoke and fire. Loki, straining every muscle in his body, broke into a cold sweat as the energy beams brushed past him.

"Lo... Loki!"

Thor looked at him and managed a smile.

"Smile my ass! RUN!"

Loki roared and dragged Thor with all his strength.

But he was just a kid—how could he possibly drag a man who weighed over a hundred kilograms?

Even the bit he had already managed to drag seemed like a miracle.

"Go! You... just go..." Thor said weakly.

"Shut up!"

Loki cried out, red-eyed, yanking Thor hard as he shouted, "It's just a few lowlifes! What the hell can they do to me—"

Zzzt!

A beam shot through him. Loki's eyes shrank as a charred, smoking hole appeared in his chest.

His body stiffened. All his strength seemed to vanish through that wound. He slowly collapsed to his knees.

"Loki!"

Thor's mind went blank. It was as if the world around him had stopped, reality distorting, leaving only the sound of his heartbeat and the pain on Loki's face.

The next moment, more energy beams came flying. Thor roared and leapt from the ground, throwing himself over Loki, using his body as a shield.

Suddenly, flickers of lightning surged from Thor's body. A magnificent suit of armor rapidly formed around him, and Mjölnir descended from the heavens, landing in his hand just as a burst of lightning exploded outward, intercepting the incoming beams. The energy dissolved into slithering serpents of electricity and vanished.

Crackling!

The air buzzed with electrical discharge.

Suddenly, a furious and embarrassed voice rang out—

"Let go of me!"

Loki shoved Thor away and stood up.

Thor stared in shock at the now fully grown Loki. "You... how did you grow up all of a sudden?"

Loki snorted lightly, a wicked smile spreading across his face. With a thought, a battle robe—mostly black with gold and green accents, resembling a mage's outfit—appeared on his body, along with a horned helmet on his head.

"Foolish Thor. I've regained my divine power!"

He looked at Thor sideways, struggling to suppress his excitement, and said in as calm a voice as he could manage.

Thor stood up and looked down at the hammer in his hand. "I've recovered mine too."

The two brothers exchanged glances, then looked toward the remaining Chitauri soldiers. Simultaneously, a smile appeared on their faces.

In the next second, lightning and invisible energy tore the Chitauri to pieces.

The young girl Thor had saved stood frozen in shock, mouth agape.

Thor walked over to her, gently patted her head, and said, "I'll have that uncle send you somewhere safe, alright?"

The little girl nodded.

Thor turned to Loki and said, "Loki, I'm leaving her in your hands."

Loki replied impatiently, "What we should be doing is heading back right now."

"No." Thor shook his head and said, "I can't just ignore what's happening here."

Loki scoffed coldly. "Of course not. You're the heir to Asgard. Sticking your nose into everything is what you do best."

Thor chuckled nonchalantly, then suddenly asked, "Why did you come back to save me earlier?"

Loki snorted, his eyes darting away. "Do I need to explain myself to you?"

Thor smiled, swung his hammer, and shot into the sky.
