Chapter 187 - The Progress

Many days had passed since he returned to the ranch, and during that time, he had learned many things. One of them was that John was now in Montana—yes, no one would be chasing him here.

Dante had offered him one of the most peaceful ranches to live on and also made sure he had everything he needed so he wouldn't have to work again.

Thanks to this help, John offered to train the private soldiers Dante used to move merchandise.

The High Order never reached this place, so you could say everyone had won.

As for what the future held, Dante hadn't made many plans ahead of time. For now, what he was doing before his wedding was trying to get some chickens.

That afternoon, he took a walk through the farmers' market, but he was feeling a little down.

At this market event, there was no poultry exhibition, and he walked through the entire market for a long time but couldn't find a single rare breed of chicken that looked decent.

Yes, he just wanted some chickens to expand his greenhouse. Dante could get some at a nearby ranch—owned by a man named Morgan—who sold the best chickens for breeding.

Meanwhile, the communication with Susie's father had been very clear, and now, thanks to Dante's new connections, he was able to attend the wedding.

Lee, who was with him, said, "Dante, I just wanted to tell you I have a girlfriend."

"Yeah, I know." Dante didn't need his brothers to tell him things he already knew for obvious reasons.

The care of his family was in his hands, so everything that happened went through him for investigation.

"Yeah, I figured. What do you think?" Lee wasn't bothered by this; instead, he asked what his brother thought of her.

"She's pretty. She might be a spy, but if she's really willing to stand by you at this point, I don't care." Honestly, Dante had almost paid someone to seduce his brother.

The eldest of them all, Lee, still didn't have a partner. But when Dante found out he was seeing someone, he ordered a thorough investigation into the woman.

"I really hope she's not a spy."

"Don't worry, it's no big deal. The only thing she could investigate on the ranch is my new chickens and greenhouse." Dante had nothing suspicious in sight.

To the rest of the world, he was just a rancher with the most ordinary hobbies.

In the evening, Dante was sitting by a campfire with his brothers.

They had all gone fishing and were now drinking a few beers.

"You're the second brother to get married. That makes the rest of us look pretty bad." Jamie was the last of the brothers to start seeing someone.

Dante knew that, but since it wasn't anything official, he didn't want to push it.

"You guys should get married too—we need to give our father plenty of grandchildren." Kayce said what Dante often repeated to them.

"I don't like kids."

Dante looked at Jamie, who had said that, and teased him, "When you have your own kids, you won't say that."

"Hahaha."
