The Dutton Ranch had become quite popular lately—not only had they become Montana's primary forage suppliers, but they were also now known as one of the few ranches still fighting to preserve their culture.
Tourists began arriving from all over the country; many wanted to see all the wonders that Montana had worked so hard to maintain.
Even some of Montana's own residents wanted to come and experience the excitement.
Most importantly, the news had spread that Montana was finally self-sufficient in terms of resources. In other words, they could easily survive without relying on outside supplies.
What had once seemed impossible had been accomplished—thanks to Dante.
"Your wedding is coming up, son. Are you sure you want to have it here and not in London? Traveling is not an issue," said John, willing to do anything for his youngest son—even travel overseas to witness his marriage.
"Susie's family will be coming. Everything will be fine. I want to get married here," Dante said, seeming relaxed at that moment. There was no need to worry at all.
Everything he was discussing with his father had already been talked over with Susie in due time, so there were no unresolved issues.
Holding a frisbee, Dante slightly twisted his waist and swung his arms, and the frisbee immediately soared into the distance.
The dogs, who had been quietly resting, suddenly sprang up and chased after the flying disc with eager strides.
"We don't have any problems anymore, Dad. You can just rest and stop being the mayor if you want," Dante said, hoping his father could enjoy his remaining years peacefully on the ranch.
"If I sit around doing nothing, I'll die of boredom," John replied. He wasn't a man who just waited around. As head of the ranch, there were still things he needed to do.
That would eventually end when his son Lee took over all the responsibilities of running the ranch—but even then, John wouldn't leave him alone.
"As you wish…" While Dante was still sighing, the dog pounced and caught the falling frisbee firmly, then turned back and ran toward Dante, wagging its tail enthusiastically.
In the distance, they saw a truck approaching, and when Dante recognized who it was, he smiled slightly. "She's here..."
"She seemed to be looking for you ever since you left…" John calmly watched his daughter park the truck.
When Beth stepped out of the car, Dante quickly approached her. "Didn't expect you to dare show up. Looks like your love for the ranch is growing. I'm glad our family is healing."
Beth gave Dante a strange look, tinged with annoyance. "I thought you didn't care what I thought about this place. Besides, I'm here to help with the wedding."
Dante took that as a compliment and helped Beth unload her suitcase. "Dad likes having you home. Don't kill his buzz."
"I know."
In a way, the family was healing from the loss of the woman who had held the ranch together. Beth seemed to be committed to Rip, Kayce had reconciled with his wife, and now Lee apparently had a girlfriend.
As for Jamie, he seemed to be in a secret relationship he didn't want to talk about.
But that made Dante happy. As a man who had done everything he could to keep his family safe, he had truly given everything.
Now that the ranch was on its way to becoming a protected area by the government, there was nothing multinational corporations could do to take their land.
Once again, all thanks to the great sacrifices he had made for this family.
