Know Ten, Understand Zetsu, Experience Ren, Achieve Hatsu.
For an entire month, Law had Kurapika focus solely on practicing the basic techniques. Even after Kurapika mastered Hatsu, Law wasn't in a hurry to have him discover his Nen Type.
The food they ate every day was the medicinal cuisine prepared by Shachmono, brought over by Machi.
Without Law needing to explain, Kurapika could feel the noticeable changes in his own body… it was clearly stronger, and the power in his limbs had increased.
This was despite Kurapika focusing solely on Nen Training without any dedicated physical conditioning, indicating that his current physical fitness still had significant room for development and improvement.
Throughout the month, the two of them stayed in the wooden cabin, never returning to Linne's place. Machi delivered food daily but never spoke a word to Kurapika.
Law didn't mind this point either.
This evening, by the stream, the area was bathed in large swathes of orange-red light.
Kurapika slowly opened his eyes, withdrawing his Aura into his body and instantly entering a state of Zetsu to recover his expended stamina.
Then, he looked at Law, seeming to want to speak but hesitating.
Noticing Kurapika's expression, Law immediately saw through his thoughts. "You want to know your Nen Type?"
Having his thoughts read, Kurapika didn't hide it and nodded firmly.
When he first encountered Nen, Law had told him all the relevant information, including the six Nen Types and the method for testing them.
However, since Law hadn't brought it up, Kurapika hadn't taken it upon himself to test and had been waiting.
"It's about time."
As he spoke, Law took a wine glass from Kuro's space, filled it with stream water, and placed a leaf on the surface.
Then, he placed the glass on a rock. "The Water Divination method. The earliest method I told you about."
"Yes." Kurapika nodded.
"Honestly, I'm quite surprised you held out for so long." Law smiled, looked at the glass, and asked, "What type do you hope you are?"
"Enhancement," Kurapika replied without hesitation.
'Then I'm afraid you'll be disappointed for now,' Law thought to himself, then pointed at the glass, signaling Kurapika to approach.
Kurapika stepped forward to the rock and, without needing prompting, extended his hands to surround the glass, releasing his Aura.
Shortly after, over a dozen translucent crystals appeared clustered together in the glass.
Generally, when someone who has just learned Nen uses the Water Divination method to test their Nen Type, the reaction in the glass is very subtle.
However, Kurapika had been training for a month, so the reaction was quite pronounced.
The appearance of crystals in the water signified Conjuration.
"Conjuration..."
Kurapika looked at the crystals in the glass, visibly disappointed.
Seeing this, Law said, "I believe Conjuration is the most interesting attribute among the six types. But I have to admit, it's also the most difficult to master."
As he spoke, Law took out the Surprise Box and the Nyoi-Bo from Kuro's space in front of Kurapika.
Both these items were products of Conjuration, each possessing special abilities. They were also relics left behind by deceased Nen Users, emitting faint traces of malicious aura.
Seeing Law take out the Surprise Box and Nyoi-Bo for the first time, Kurapika exclaimed in surprise, "Master, are these items you conjured?"
"These two things are indeed Nen Products created through Conjuration, but I didn't conjure them."
"To conjure an item, the more complex its structure, the more it consumes one's energy and imagination. After successful conjuration, it takes a long time of training to be able to use the ability freely."
"Although there are exceptionally talented individuals who can conjure items in a short time, those are extremely rare exceptions."
"More commonly, many Conjurers exhaust their minds to create the weapon they want, only to fail in the end. The reason is that they only conjured the desired object without imbuing it with a special ability."
"This is like someone who just wants a sword, so they conjure a sword. However, without imbuing a special ability, putting effort into conjuring a sword is worse than just acquiring a famous sword directly."
Law picked up Nyoi-Bo and demonstrated for Kurapika. After infusing it with Nen, the rod suddenly lengthened.
Watching this, Kurapika remained silent. Even though Law had explained the benefits of Conjuration in more detail, he still felt that Enhancement was the most suitable attribute for combat.
However, he also knew that a Conjurer's training in Enhancement would only achieve half the results, no matter how much effort they put in.
Seeing Kurapika's reaction, Law wasn't bothered. He wouldn't reveal the true power of the Scarlet Eyes prematurely, as he wanted Kurapika to take things step by step.
In his view, Conjuration was the attribute Kurapika needed to develop first and foremost, just like Kite's Crazy Slots, which possessed diverse abilities.
Only by first developing a Nen Product capable of incorporating diverse elements could one perfectly utilize the advantages of all five Nen Types.
Because a person's energy and memory are limited. Even if one masters all types, they wouldn't have the mental capacity to develop one Nen Ability after another. Utilizing the characteristics of the five types by extending them through a Nen Product was the most suitable path.
"Master, what is your Nen Type?" Kurapika suddenly asked.
"Well..." Law scratched his cheek and said calmly, "I'll tell you after you master Conjuration. For now, think about what you want to conjure."
"Chains," Kurapika replied without the slightest hesitation. This was what immediately came to his mind after learning he was a Conjurer.
"Mmm."
Law wasn't surprised at all.
He would wait until Kurapika conjured the chains before discussing the extended use of the five Nen Types with him. After that, he would tell Kurapika about Vows and Limitations.
After laying this groundwork, he would then reveal the ability of the Scarlet Eyes.
Once his Nen Ability was fully defined, it would be time for Advanced Nen Techniques training. By then, Biscuit should have arrived.
Afterwards, Law didn't try to influence Kurapika's core idea of wanting chains. Instead, he offered comprehensive advice.
Such as the potential characteristics of chains: hardness, binding, flexibility... Furthermore, before conjuring the chains, he needed to have sufficient anticipation, to clearly understand what he wanted, and then build a prototype.
In the days that followed, Kurapika continuously attempted to conjure chains. However, after more than half a month, progress was extremely slow.
The reason Conjuration is said to be the most difficult attribute to master lies in the process of turning the intangible into the tangible.
Even a single piece of paper must be constructed from its most minute state, requiring imagination beyond ordinary comprehension.
Before that, one must maintain their energy in a state of extreme stability, which, in turn, requires concentration beyond ordinary comprehension.
For substances composed of high-molecular arrangements like metal, conjuring them is very difficult.
Watching Kurapika struggle day after day, Law couldn't offer any direct help. This was inherently a process of gradual guidance.
Before Kurapika could conjure the chains, Biscuit arrived first.
She came to Law's side and looked at Kurapika, who was in a state of Hatsu.
"Him?"
"Mmm."
Law nodded.
