Chapter 380: Tang San Instantly Kills Demon Bear Douluo
When Tang San heard Di Tian demanding he take action, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of hesitation before finally responding, "Your forces are already overwhelming; do you really need me to step in to take down Spirit City?"
Di Tian scoffed. "Why draw lines between us now? Without your schemes, the soul beasts wouldn't have encircled Spirit City so easily. We're in this together now, tied by the same fate."
After considering it carefully, Tang San nodded. "You're right; it's time for me to make my move. Spirit Empire has a blood debt to me, and it's time they pay for it."
Di Tian immediately issued orders. "Have all soul beasts rest for an hour, then resume the assault on Spirit City. This time, we must break through the walls in a single push."
Tang San, filled with grim determination, sought out his companions from Shrek. "Dai Mubai, it's our time now. The chance for revenge has finally come."
Dai Mubai looked conflicted. "Xiao San, are you sure about this? This is a war between soul beasts and humans. If we intervene, we might end up branded as traitors to our kind."
Tang San's eyes filled with unrelenting fury. "Mubai, this is a fight for survival. Don't forget how the Spirit Empire exterminated your royal family. To avenge them, we must be willing to sacrifice everything."
Remembering Spirit Empire's relentless pursuit of him and the fall of the Star Luo royal family, Dai Mubai gritted his teeth. "I have a vendetta with Spirit Empire. This time, I'll take my revenge for my family, for my parents, and for my clan."
Zhu Zhuqing and the others watched the two with cold resolve. Though hesitant, they ultimately decided to join Dai Mubai in his mission.
The area beneath Spirit City was already a river of blood after the first wave of the siege, which had lasted a grueling four hours. Everyone was drained of soul power, and the casualties were immense.
For the Titled Douluo, it was especially taxing, as each of them had to contend with ten-thousand-year-level soul beasts. All were covered in injuries, bearing the marks of the brutal battles they had endured.
The losses among spirit masters were even more severe. Some had even sacrificed themselves, detonating their soul power to fend off the soul beast onslaught. Spirit Empire's spirit master corps suffered over 20% casualties, and nearly everyone was injured—recovery would be slow and difficult.
Golden Crocodile Douluo was the worst off, with three vicious claw marks on his shoulder that no healing spirit could entirely mend. Lightfeather Douluo, too, was exhausted, with his once-pristine fingers marked by the bowstring's constant strain.
The first attack ended in mutual devastation, with heavy losses on both sides. As Spirit Empire's forces hastily tried to recover, the soul beasts took advantage of the lull, dragging off the corpses of both humans and beasts from the battlefield and feasting on them to regain their strength. In their eyes, even their fallen comrades were nothing more than sustenance.
An hour later, the soul beasts resumed their assault with even greater intensity. Leading the charge were scores of high-level soul beasts, determined to breach the walls of Spirit City.
The Empire, though exhausted, had no choice but to meet them head-on. The Titled Douluo once again faced off against the ten-thousand-year soul beasts, while the other spirit masters desperately unleashed soul skills, trying to kill as many soul beasts as possible.
High above, Qian Daoliu watched the battle with clenched teeth. The expenditure of resources and lives weighed heavily on him. Everything on this battlefield represented the hard-won legacy of Spirit Empire, and now, all was slipping away.
Suddenly, countless black Blue Silver Grass vines sprang up across the battlefield, writhing like serpents as they lashed out at Spirit Empire's spirit masters, swiftly draining many of them of life and leaving their bodies shriveled and lifeless.
Amid the chaos, a massive Clear Sky Hammer descended from the sky, targeting Demon Bear Douluo, who was locked in a battle with a ten-thousand-year soul beast. The hammer's overwhelming force was directed squarely at Spirit Empire's Titled Douluo.
Tang San's timing and aim were ruthless, honed by a past life as an assassin. Before Demon Bear Douluo could react, the Clear Sky Hammer was already bearing down on him, giving him no chance to evade.
Realizing he had no escape, Demon Bear Douluo summoned his ninth soul skill, transforming into a towering demon bear with bloodthirsty eyes. He raised his massive paws to intercept the hammer. But at level 98, Tang San's strength far exceeded Demon Bear Douluo's, especially since his ambush was aimed to kill.
The Clear Sky Hammer shattered the bear's form, dissipating his soul skill before smashing into Demon Bear Douluo's chest. The impact shattered his bones and severed his veins. His death cry echoed across the battlefield, but even Lightfeather Douluo's arrows were too late to save him.
The Blue Silver Grass vines quickly wrapped around Demon Bear Douluo's body, absorbing every last bit of life from him and reducing him to a heap of bones, robbing him even of the chance to self-detonate.
Tang San laughed maniacally. "Spirit Empire, this is the blood debt you owe me! Today, I'll make you pay for it all!"
Seeing Tang San's bloodthirsty frenzy, the Spirit Empire soldiers felt a chill down their spines, staring at him as though he were a demon.
Tang San's instant slaughter of Demon Bear Douluo took place in mere moments—so quickly that even Qian Daoliu was caught off guard.
However, as he observed Tang San, Qian Daoliu sensed an aura that deeply unsettled him—a darkness and malevolence that seemed to repel and taint his angelic power.
After delivering his fatal strike, Tang San's black Blue Silver Grass began to spread, consuming the bodies of human and soul beasts alike, leaving nothing but bare ground in its wake.
Enraged, Qian Daoliu shouted, "Audacious! A vile spirit master dares to run rampant in my Spirit City!"
Golden light burst forth from Qian Daoliu, aiming to obliterate Tang San on the spot.
But Di Tian countered with a dark beam, blocking Qian Daoliu's attack. He sneered, "Mighty Qian Daoliu, the so-called Great Angel Douluo, yet you can't keep your composure against a young spirit master? How pathetic."
Qian Daoliu's face darkened, his voice full of anger. "You overstep, soul beast. Spirit City will be your grave!"
With that, nine soul rings appeared around him, and behind him, a massive six-winged angel took shape, its golden light illuminating all of Spirit City.
In this war, at least half of Spirit Empire and the soul beast forces would perish. The bloodshed was unimaginable. Readers are invited to choose which characters should fall in this brutal battle.
