The people of Wartebereich XXXIV were awakened by syrens in the night. People left their homes like before. The four leaders each looked each other in the eyes.
"(Do we tell em)?" Afzel asked.
"(Of course-)," Atsushi interjected.
"(We don't know why they're here)," Ijeoma interrupted, his eyes narrowed. "(Let's wait this out),"
"(Your just trying to save your own-)," Atsushi snapped back.
"(And we'll take you with us)," Najwa threatened, glaring at the old man.
The gate opened. Waffe entered.
"We found reports of an attempted rescue mission of you sludge rats!" It announced.
Another Drescher appeared, bringing the other half of the rope. Waffe grabbed it and brought it over to the group.
"Who among you has betrayed the Mondgreif!" It questioned, the rope raised high.
Ijeoma approached it, "We assure you, none of is has-,"
"LIES!" it responded, lightly backhanding the man.
He fell back, his left arm dislocated. He screamed in pain.
"Your screams are just a signal for your fellow rats," it scoffed, pressing its talons down on his right shoulder.
"We did not-," he insisted, glaring up at it.
"Your look tells me otherwise,"
Afzel took a deep breath, "sir, can't we talk-?"
"Confess or shut the fuck up," it threatened, turning to him.
"But w-we have nothing-,"
He flinched. Waffe approached him.
[It felt like a crocodile were staring him down. It's great mouth opened wide, charging right towards him].
Waffe placed a claw on the back of his neck, "Confess. What do you know about this little 'Scarf Squad'?"
Afzel threw up on Waffe's coat. Waffe picked him up by the throat.
"How disrespectful. I always thought you the reasonable, civil one,"
Atsushi moved to say something. Najwa stomped on his foot.
Bad move. Waffe dropped Afzel and turned to them.
---
Ursa's ears twitched. Her eyes sharpened.
She moved forwards. Lyn placed her left fingers on her forehead. She fell unconscious.
She grabbed onto her as she slumped down. She attempted to lift her over her back and hobble over, but she hesitated. She turned back to the walls.
She sighed and snapped her fingers.
With a flash, she knocked out four Dreschers. A fifth dodged, only to be hit by the next shot.
"OY! MORONS!" She called out before dashing away.
---
Waffe approached Najwa and Atsushi. They both looked down like the others. It loomed over Najwa, ready to-
SCREEEEEEEEECH!
Waffe turned towards the outside. The other nearby Dreschers did so as well.
"GET THEM!" Waffe ordered.
The Dreschers bore their claw, spread their talons, opened their mouths, and hunched down. They straightened their back and raised their heads high.
SCREEEEEEEEEEECH!!!!
---
Lyn switched back to the Reflect Realm. She heard the screeching in the distance. She plopped Setsune in a nearby trash can before standing against a grey wall and smoking a cigarette.
"Plan…?" Dusty asked.
"(Don't worry, I know what I'm doing)," she responded, letting out some smoke with the calmness of someone who wasn't just running like their life depended on it.
"Do…you?" It questioned in a condescending tone.
A pack of Dreschers charged passed them from within both Realms. So fixated on the hunt that they missed their prey.
Lyn smirked. "See-,"
Her ears raised.
Waffe walked by, its claws in its pockets. It looked down the alley.
Nothing there. Only a garbage can.
It slowly approached the can, keeping a sharp look at it. It placed its claw on the lid, ready to open and see what's inside.
There was a bump on the opposite end of the alley, like a pebble getting kicked up. It turned around, approaching the other end.
---
Lyn, having flicked a pebble over to distract it, slipped over to the can. Quick and quiet, she opened the can up. She and Setsune shifted over to the Colour Realm.
"Lets go," Ursa ordered, picking up Lyn and running with her.
"Wait-!" She exclaimed.
---
Clank! The can fell over. Dust kicked up.
"TO ME!" Waffe called out. "THEY WENT THIS WAY!"
---
Ursa jumped from building to building.
One attempted to enclose around and crush them. Using her cloth, she wrapped around a fragment of metal and pulled them out.
A building shot up from below. She bundled cloth together and took the shot.
They rolled down the building and jumped off. They landed in open area filled with yellow energy streams and lanterns.
There was a loud thumping following them. Ursa narrowed her eyes. It was getting closer and closer.
They couldn't outrun the pack.
...…
Thump. Thump. Thump. Wolves made of steel surrounded them in the dense forest.
Ursa was keeping an eye and an ear out. Lyn, meanwhile, was bound by cloth.
"(This partnership is off to a rocky start)," she remarked.
"(Are you friend, or foe)?" Ursa asked, glaring at her.
"(Would a foe help ya escape)?" Lyn questioned, her mouth agape.
She shook her head, "(Taipan's aware your marked by Omnes correct)?" she asked in reference to the Four Eyes symbol over Lyn's right eye and the serpent weaving around her left.
She narrowed her eyes, "(Fair play, but ya started it),"
"(Young Lady)," she judged.
"(Well it's true. All ya had to do was follow me lead ahn-),"
(Do you believe that, young lady)?" She asked, her eyes narrowed.
"(I'M NINE-TEE-)!"
"Do you believe that, Young Lady?"
The thumping was getting closer. Much closer.
She looked down and sighed, "no…no i fricked up,"
Ursa walked over and clawed her free of the cloth, "*we* fucked up,"
"Language, Glassflower," she responded, standing up.
The walls opened. White lanterns hovered over the area.
Waffe entered with a squad of Dreschers. It froze, staring at Ursa.
"What the fuck…?" it laughed. "This is the little 'Scarf Squad'?!"
Lyn shot purple at the exact same time Setsune flung gusts of wind. Their attacks canceled each other out.
"Seriously?!" They both asked each other.
"Should we-?" One of the Dreschers questioned.
"No," it replied, hanging up. "You twelve, kill the purple. Bring in Ursa,"
