The small village became a raft of shifting fragments, unable to hold together completely. There were no walls, only the endless black sea. The sky and the horizon were white. They were definitely trapped in a pocket between the walls and the rest of the Realm.
And it was infested with Corrupted Beasts.
Naturally, she took out the first couple Red Eyes she saw. Still though, many charged her as she touched the ground.
First three Green Wheels. She sidestepped them, letting them crash into the ocean.
Lyn lit a cigarette. She took in some purple smoke.
Second, Blue Mould attempted to swarm her. Not nearly as many as she had to deal with in the plains. She weaved through them and took out her butterfly knife. With a spin of herself and the blade, she took multiple out.
Third, Yellow Bursts hid in the shadows. She snapped her fingers and quick shot them before they could move.
Fourth, Orange Hearts jabbed at her. They were so slow she just hopped upon them.
Fifth, Purple Nightmares tried to cloud her vision. She completely ignored them because she had already memorised the layout of the place.
"This game lacks a little somethin'," she remarked.
Corrupted Beasts leapt at her from all sides. She jabbed her right fingers onto a nearby jellyfish.
Time froze.
Lyn entered Ismael's Dream Realm. After a ton of shenanigans, she eventually found his dream version of Setsune.
She took her fingers off, "Well, that was…the worst,"
She backstepped, bouncing off another Orange Hearts. She jumped along a wave of Corrupted Beasts, going back and forth until eventually riding all the way back to the wall. She switched back to the Reflect Realm and landed on the wall.
She looked out and there she was, "Finally found ya, Glassflower. Took me long enough,"
She hopped back into town. As she switched to the Colour Realm, she prepared her fingers.
Setsune made eye contact with her. Lyn's eyes widened.
Lyn fired. Ursa appeared in the Colour Realm shortly after her, only to get hit and knocked out after the second shot.
She breathed a sign of relief as she fell back into the Reflect Realm. The people who were still out and about that night looked at Setsune with concern, including a group of three children.
"Setsune! Setsune!" Dawud exclaimed, shaking her lightly.
"Don't jostle 'er," Najwa urged, pulling him away. "We don't wanna be the one's dealin' with 'er when she wakes up,"
"Is…is she okay?" Ismael asked.
"Don't worry laddie, she's fine," Lyn called out, poking his forehead with her right.
"Who are ya?" Fajr asked, glaring at her.
"Ariel Moroon," she replied, lifting Setsune up and onto her back.
"Yer the messenger right?" Najwa asked, walking over and gathering her children.
Lyn shrugged and went on her way. Before she could make progress, she was force switched to the Colour Realm.
She was grabbed and SLLAMMED to the ground. Multiple bones could be felt snapping, alongside cracks being made beneath her.
Ursa loomed over her. Her eyes were sharpened, glowing bright within the realm.
She was ready to claw right through her head if she didn't have to distract herself. Corrupted Beasts all lunged at them from every angle. She switched to Yellow and sent out a massive wave of of wind to push back or break them
"Talk,"
"Please…," Dusty groaned from beneath her. "Off…,"
...…
Lyn took an orange pill and hunched back against the wall in Najwa's living room, "This is the second worst job Taipan has ever given me,"
Setsune sat next to her, giving her a cup of orange juice, smiling with her eyes closed, "Don't pin your mistakes on her, young lady,"
"Yes, ma'am!" she responded, straightening her posture and taking the juice.
The children gathered around them. Najwa meanwhile, was in the kitchen, pretending to prepare food.
"What took ya so long?" Fajr asked, crossing her arms.
"'Re ya gonna take 'er away?" Ismael asked, his fingers together nervnously.
"How'd nobody notice ya earlier?"
"I AIN'T YOUR TEACHER!" she responded.
"I can be your teacher," Setsune intruded, placing her hands together and leaning forward.
Lyn became flustered. Her eye twitched and she took a drink of her juice, making little bubbles.
She raised a finger, "While I can't say why she took so long, it was likely a difficult journey,"
"For…sure," Dusty added.
"What's that's scratchy sound in her backpack?" Dawud added to the list of questions.
"My pet," she responded flatly.
"Fuck…you,"
Setsune narrowed her eyes, glancing at the backpack. She shrugged and shook her head.
"As for why no one noticed her, Lyn has a purple primary. Unlike the other primaries, purple's is harder to notice, because…well that's the power," she answered, tilting her head and chuckling a little.
"What's yer's?" Dawud added to the question.
"One at a time," Fajr responded.
Back in the kitchen, Najwa blushed. Lyn took notice of this and hunched down.
"We red types are very flexible," Setsune answered, placing a finger on her lip and glancing at Najwa.
Lyn broke her cup, "This living room could use a window fur me to throw out of meself,"
"What about Ismael's question," Fajr pushed.
Setsune took a deep breath. Ismael was waiting patiently, looking down.
She leaned forward and held Ismael's hand, "Yes, Ismael, she will be taking me away from here,"
"C-Can we go with ya?" he asked.
Dawud watched carefully. He squeezed his hands together.
She shook her head, "I'm sorry,"
Dawud ran off. Najwa gave Fajr a nod and she chased after him. Ismael hugged Setsune, crying in her arms.
