This is where the key lies.
According to the initial plan, enhancing battlefield transportation capability requires road construction in the main combat direction, with tracked transport vehicles responsible only for delivering supplies to various remote defensive points. Although existing railways and highways still have to be relied upon, it is impossible to construct a complete battlefield transportation system using temporarily laid roads. However, the main value of battlefield roads is to solve the problem of the last few dozen kilometers to the front lines.
In traditional battlefield transportation systems, the limitation on transportation efficiency is actually these last few dozen kilometers.
If these last few dozen kilometers can only rely on manual carrying or animal power, no matter how quickly supplies can be delivered to the railway terminal, it is of no use to the frontline combat units, and naturally, the efficiency of the entire supply chain won't be high.
