People are hypocritical.
And very realistic.
One does not lavish praise on another without reason.
Because when you praise someone else as being excellent and outstanding, you make yourself appear dull in comparison, and you can't say "Actually, I'm better than him."
To say that would turn all your previous praise into sarcasm, and it would also offend others.
So, most of the time, people don't praise someone without reason, without cause.
Unless that person is dead.
You praise a dead person because they are no more, and people should respect and idealize the dead; it's almost a universal human trait!
Especially when a person's death is for the benefit of the family, even if that person is a scoundrel, people will still say he was a hero who did what heroes do!
When facing his widow and children, they also say, "Your husband was a hero," or "Your father was a hero," and they even attribute deeds that never happened to him!
