As Zypher entered the game, he saw a few things that changed.
One, is that the art is now more realistic, and much vivid. These can help players to see little things that can give quests, or items they can use to make things in their own playtime.
But now, this is not his priority.
First, he checked the updates of the game.
The patch began with the level cap being higher, up to 120.
There were new items, new dungeons, new tower floors and new NPCs.
The two biggest updates are the following: Class Milestones and NPC Quest Links.
First, because level 120 was added, the Milestones to upgrade the class became larger. Every ten levels, a person will choose an upgrade for his class, going up to Epic at level 50, if it starts from a normal class.
To shorten the gap between legendary class players, they raised the points given each level up by 5, and the Legendary Class stays the same.
In short, when a Legendary Class hits level 120, he has 7,240 Stat Points, while someone from normal class gets 5,315 Stat Points, different from the 6,040 to 4,240 from the past with only 100 levels; with a slight difference of almost 4% in the rate.
This change can also let the players understand the importance of a legendary class, but also it's rarity in the game.
The second big update is the NPC Quest Links.
Til this day, the game hasn't progressed further than the 6th Apostle: Frost Fire Witch.
After the defeat of the Chimera King, with the power of the first heroes, and the Frost Fire Witch, with the power of the pioneers, the clues for the next Apostles are almost blank.
And so, the game introduced a new feature where players can get link quests and progress the story.
These NPCs will give the players quests to either progress the storyline, or create a new storyline. In short, these are quests that are related to the main scenario.
But, these NPCs are also hard to find.
The update has four Quest Link NPCs: the Grays, where people can finish it in one day, and can repeat; the Bleaks, quest links that are long and arduous, has a percentage chance of being in the main scenario and cannot be repeated; and the Prisms, link quests that are in the main scenario, cannot be done by others, but also, the hardest of them all.
The last one, is called Spectrums, which is the hardest, and the rarest of them all. The creator even said that you can find a Legendary Class five times before meeting a Spectrum.
For Zypher, these changes are big rocks in his path, so he chose to ignore them for now. The next thing he needs right now is to create a deck for himself, to be able to tackle his next moves.
The Quick Face, which includes fast attacks relies solely on his movements, and although Quick Face has an advantage in speed, in terms of prolonged fights, he can't win.
In truth, the Quick Face is just a contingency plan for him.
He, who can not raise his stats is susceptible to long fights where he has to strike with accuracy, and dodge with precision, as he will die once he gets hit once.
And although he knows everything about the game, he isn't as strong as in his past life. Although his battle sense is good, he must sharpen the sense once more as his knife is blunt.
And so, he decided to take the course which he didn't get in his past life.
Before he proceed, he must prepare himself first for his plans. Having money is the first step, and he succeeded in that.
"Orc Ape Dungeon - 300 Gold per person in the guild, 1000 per person out of guild."
Although this is a small price compared to what he won from betting, it almost ripped him off of 2% of his total winnings. Not joining the guild is a hassle, and this proves it.
In short, it bled his wallet and his heart before even getting inside the dungeon, but, this was for his greater good.
For Zypher, who knows the future, he is a fish in the water. He is someone that can manage to profit even if ge is ripped off, by just simply playing the game at the right place, in the right moment.
1000 Gold went out like that, but he shook his head and entered the dungeon.
After entering, Zypher saw a familiar concept in his past life: Dungeon Bridge.
Clearing dungeons is something guilds and other groups do to play the game. It is a battle of resources and data; plus the strength of each guild can be considered from the number of dungeons they can clear within a week.
The average guild clears almost seven per day. Due to the long run of the game, the creators made almost five hundred dungeons, each with different concepts and different information, as well as problems to solve.
After clearing a dungeon, the guild who clears it stations themselves near it, because the dungeon will, and always will, reset and open again.
To form dungeon bridges, mana from the dungeon, and mana from the host planet forms a bridge, and becomes a safe zone, where people can stay, and even if the dungeon closes, the bridge stays, and when the dungeon opens again, the bridge just reconnects.
"Orc Ape Street"
The signage says as Zypher walks down the bridge.
In a stall nearby, a dozen of people were busy onlooking. Well, that's because this is the hidden blessing of this dungeon gate.
Orc Ape Dungeon is a dungeon where Orcs that looks like baboons settle. The setting is a mountain where they uses the caves as their settlements.
The cliffs of the mountains are steep, and because of their agility, the Orc Apes can climb and live there, where they can spot enemies and ambush them.
But, because they are orcs, they do not know the value of the mountain stones.
The cliff, which is marbled and smooth from the frequent wind and rain started to emit bluish lights in the night.
These bluish lights are called Spacial Ores.
These ores, when given to an Accessory Maker, can create an ornament to the body, with a hidden effect: Spacial Storage.
Gamers, who only has ten slots in their inventory uses these accessories to store items that are not needed in their main inventory, such as sellable items and others such as ingredients.
These ornaments became popular when an Accessory Maker accidentally created an item with forty slots of inventory, which is in the form of backpack. The pack has an embedded Spacial Ore, and it created space for people to use.
These slots, may be a bit too good for a game of this caliber, but there is a downside. Each item carries it's own weight, and when put into the Spacial Bag, it creates a heavy load on the back of the player, making them go slower, or be prone to injuries.
There are other ores that came with weight suppression, but, they are too rare or too pricey, that's why people sticks to the use of ornaments. Although stats is one of the solution, one stat point is too valuable for a person.
For example, an Epic Class player from level one has a deficit id 595 Stat Points from a Legendary Class Player; but a Normal Class Player has 1,940 point deficit from a Legendary Class, and 1,345 from an Epic Class Player.
This means that every point matters, and these can change the flow of the game. Although a big number, the stats of monsters starts at 100, and even a Level 1 slime has 50 in its defense and health stats, in the beginning chapters, that's why the game gives away 100 stat points at Level 1, and creates a Quest Link up to Level 15.
That's why the ornaments were important to players, because they can give additional stat boosts, as well as other uses, such as the Spacial Ring, which can carry additional 5 slots without the feeling the weight.
As they were busy eyeing how the Accessory Maker creates a ring, Zypher arrived at a potion store nearby.
This potion store what he still knows in his past life, and is a part of a bigger conglomerate but is hiding from the powers outside the game.
The store has no name, but it is characterized by a simple symbol that everyone can see and remember: a star. Thus, people call it the Ghost Star Shop.
"Welcome, how may I help you?"
As Zypher entered, there were many players inside already, looking for potions and concoctions for their dungeon clearing.
But Zypher is different.
"Can I have three Invisibility potions, one Haste Scroll and one Holy Potion?"
"75 for each Invisibility potions, 150 for the Holy Potion and 50 for the Hast Scroll, a total of 425 Gold."
"Here." Zypher gave the money, and took the items he got. Putting it in his inventory, he decided to enter the dungeon now.
As he entered the dungeon, although he entered in the morning, he was met with the incredibly still night. In front of him are tall grasses and hills, and as he opened his eyes, he was met with the most oppressing feeling he has felt since coming back to the past.
Settlements, looked like it was carved on the cliff, with some others on tree tops or hanging from vines.
But, this is not Zypher's target for today.
As he walked towards his path, he saw teams and others that were also trying to clear some part of the dungeon.
As it said, the dungeon is not just a small one-time clear thing, but a massive map that has stages; like one conquering a small world or realm.
These players are the newbies of the guild. Flags are raised and there are some others that are also here.
Looking at the flags, there are three guilds that are here today.
In Kyulaff, which is the base of the Magic Knight Guild, boasts three of the top six guilds under them: Arrow Rain, Whirwind Sword and Blaze Staff.
These, of course, has the flag of Magic Knight with them, but holding different weapons on it's hand, which is the most beautiful flag of the game, embroidered in the black banners.
These, of course are not just banners, but buffs to the guild, as well as additional protection.
Another banner present is green, which is not of the main guilds, but a rather strong guild in the game, called Clover Leaf.
The other guild has a yellow banner, and like the Clover Leaf, is also another one that Magic Night let the usage of the said dungeon, and the guild's name is Kernel Fried Chicken.
Dungeons, although easy to beat, has some aress that can't be explored by one team in a span of a day. And so, they use the capacity of the dungeon as tradeable items, and they let people clear the uncleared areas, and they all win in the situation given.
That is why guilds also have good relationships with other guilds, so they can help, and can find more about the dungeon they have, and also, know some more inner workings of the dungeon.
Boasting their power, the Magic Night Guild started their march towards clearing the dungeon, and the others, to explore the areas given to them by the Magic Night Guild.
But today, the Magic Night Guild will be met with the greatest setback they will face, enough to make their plans go awry, and become a laughingstock in the game.
This also, creates a rift in the game, where players become wary of each other, while the prime suspect is let loose in the wild.
Well, hyenas feast when the lions don't come out.
