After Stella, Rodney, Molly and Benecio left later on in the afternoon after a full round of watching a movie and cooking a hearty meal together; a good portion left for Zahi when he came home, I felt more recharged than I had in a long time. Maybe it was the talk with Benecio or a near death experience but being with them reminded me of who I was when I came to America.
I had dreams and ambitions, a long list of things I had wanted to accomplish within my first year and more. Yes so far I had achieved almost everything, in fact I had long surpassed them but somewhere along the line I feared I had lost track of who I was. Maybe I had gotten too wrapped up in the fantasy of Bucky and I that I relaxed. So used to being gifted jewelry and designer pieces that I felt placid. Satisfied when in reality I realized how easy it was for all of it to be ripped away.
