Mo Hentian's breakthrough took longer than the others—a full two days and nights.
Similarly, her transformation was the most profound. Both of her Martial Souls shattered their limitations and evolved into higher-quality forms.
First was her Sky-Hate Hammer Martial Soul. As a variant of the Clear-Sky Hammer Martial Soul, Mo Hentian had originally developed it to evade the Haotian Sect's pursuit. However, after meeting Jing Shaoyu, it truly began to diverge from the Clear-Sky Hammer. Now, it had completed its final metamorphosis—the Slaughter Law hidden deep within the Martial Soul had been fully awakened, transforming the Sky-Hate Hammer from the inside out.
The God-Slaying Hammer.
A hammer Martial Soul heavier than the Clear-Sky Hammer, with killing intent fiercer than the Clear-Sky Hammer. Its entire body was forged in white gold, its hammerhead and handle engraved with bloody slaughter totems. A brutal, oppressive aura coiled around it, radiating violence.
This was a Martial Soul woven from the Slaughter Law itself. In terms of quality, across the entire Douluo Continent, only Yun Ming's Sky Piercing Divine Spear and Xu Xiaoyan's Starry Sky Divine Staff could surpass it. Any other Weapon Soul that could resist its suppression would already be considered a top-tier Weapon Soul.
In other words, Mo Hentian had found her path to godhood—no law suited her better than the Slaughter Law.
Second, her Celestial Fox Martial Soul had also been influenced by the Slaughter Law. Though it remained a mental-attribute Sky Fox, its nine tails had now been dyed with the blood-red hue of slaughter. This was undoubtedly a good thing—only with sufficiently powerful mental strength could Mo Hentian avoid being consumed by the slaughter.
Previously, the Celestial Fox's mental power had been too weak. Now, tempered by the Slaughter Law, it had become resilient, ensuring Mo Hentian would not lose control.
Finally, Mo Hentian's Soul Power had reached level 82.
On the fourth morning of their stay in West Sea City, Jing Shaoyu set off north toward the Endless Mountains under the watchful gazes of Mo Hentian and Lan Fozi.
Deep within the Endless Mountains, in a world of cold and snow, lay a plateau at least a thousand meters high. Scattered across the plateau were rows of barracks, with sentry posts—some obvious, some hidden—standing guard along the perimeter, marking this place as anything but ordinary.
After ten arduous days of travel, Jing Shaoyu finally located this concealed military base using the positioning system given to him by Amorous Douluo Zang Xin.
The Blood God Legion.
"Halt!" The moment he approached the outermost sentry perimeter, he was immediately stopped. Four fully armed soldiers, clad in thick white snowsuits and wielding specialized Soul Guidance Ray Guns, emerged from the snow and surrounded him.
All four were Soul Kings. Jing Shaoyu could have dispatched them with a single motion, but he was here to enlist, not to pick a fight. These men might one day serve under him, so he cooperated.
"Relax, I'm here to join the Legion," he said with a faint smile. "If I were here to cause trouble, you wouldn't even have seen me."
He released a sliver of his aura, and the four soldiers immediately stiffened. Their hands tightened instinctively around their guns as they felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on them—a pressure they had only ever sensed from the Legion's highest-ranking officers.
"Titled Douluo!" The four soldiers immediately made their judgment. After exchanging glances, they swiftly took action.
"Your Excellency, pardon our intrusion!" One of the soldiers stepped back, transforming their square formation into a triangular one, while the other three kept their soul guns trained on him. "We lack the authority to verify your identity. Please wait while we notify our superiors."
"Understood," Jing Shaoyu nodded.
The soldier quickly dashed toward the barracks, while the remaining three maintained their vigilant stance.
"If I were truly an enemy, the three of you would be in grave danger," Jing Shaoyu remarked, intending to test the morale of the Blood God Legion.
The three soldiers remained silent, but the simultaneous cocking of their soul guns spoke volumes. Their actions made it clear—if Jing Shaoyu made any sudden moves, they wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
They were prepared to face death without flinching!
Soon, the soldier who had left returned, accompanied by several others. However, Jing Shaoyu's attention was drawn primarily to the woman leading them.
She was beautiful, though not as stunning as some of the women he knew, yet her bearing exuded a military sharpness and dignity. Her figure was striking—a slender waist, full bust and hips, embodying the classic hourglass silhouette. Her white uniform fit snugly, and the golden stars on her shoulders gleamed as brightly as her upright posture.
She was a Federation Major General and the strongest among the newcomers—a Titled Douluo.
"Greetings," the woman said, her gaze lingering on Jing Shaoyu with evident surprise, though her voice remained composed. "I am one of the Nine Blood Gods of the Blood God Legion. You may call me Blood Eight."
"Greetings, Senior Blood Eight. I am Jing Shaoyu," he replied.
"You wish to join the Blood God Legion—I'm honored," Blood Eight mused, unfamiliar with the name Jing Shaoyu. She was certain she hadn't heard of him before joining the Legion, deepening her surprise. "However, regulations require you to present a letter of recommendation."
"Of course," Jing Shaoyu promptly produced the letter.
"Good," Blood Eight accepted it, scanning it briefly before confirming his identity. Her wariness faded, replaced by a smile. "Welcome aboard. Now, follow me!"
Jing Shaoyu followed Blood Eight into the Blood God Legion, drawing envious and curious glances as they passed through the command center and entered a courtyard at the rear—the place known as the Blood God Battalion.
The temperature inside the courtyard was noticeably higher, bringing an instant sense of relief. They proceeded into a narrow barracks within the courtyard, where only an elevator stood at the far end. A beam of light swept over them, and the bracelet on Blood Eight's wrist lit up in response.
At the same time, Blood Eight waved her hand, releasing a glow from her bracelet that enveloped Jing Shaoyu.
The two entered the elevator, descending for several dozen seconds before it halted and the doors opened. Jing Shaoyu followed Blood Eight out into a circular hall, its walls lined with three tiers of screens displaying dark, cavernous surveillance footage.
Jing Shaoyu stared curiously at the images on the screen. The cavern depicted was very likely the Abyss Passage guarded by the Blood God Legion.
"Welcome to the Blood God Battalion," Blood Eight's voice rang out. "The Blood God Battalion is the strongest combat force of the Blood God Legion. Though called a battalion, it only has nine members, hence known as the Nine Blood Gods. I rank eighth in strength among them, hence my codename Blood Eight."
"This should be classified information of the Blood God Legion, right? I've just arrived—is it appropriate for me to be here?" Jing Shaoyu asked.
"You're a Titled Douluo. With such strength, it wouldn't make sense to start you as a regular soldier. The specifics of your assignment aren't something I can decide alone," Blood Eight replied. "First, you need to get acquainted with the others to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings. We'll also discuss your arrangements."
Jing Shaoyu nodded slightly.
Blood Eight said no more. Raising his hand, he pressed a button on his wristband, causing the hall to transform instantly. The screens on the walls split apart, revealing tightly sealed metal doors. Four of them opened, each releasing a figure.
"What's up, Little Eight?" A lazy voice sounded—a young man who appeared to be in his mid-twenties, hands behind his head, exuding an air of indolence. The golden stars shimmering on his shoulders marked him as another Blood God.
Sure enough, Blood Eight coldly stated his identity. "Blood Seven, I won't repeat myself—call me Blood Eight, not Little Eight!"
"Hahaha," Blood Seven chuckled. "Alright, alright, don't take it so seriously. We're all comrades here—it's more affectionate this way!"
"Hmph!" Blood Eight snorted.
The other three approached as well. Among them, a woman who looked around fifty sighed helplessly. "Blood Seven, that mouth of yours! If Blood Eight ever surpasses you, let's see if you can still act so smug!"
Blood Seven remained unfazed, grinning cheekily. "Heh, isn't that my motivation to train? Gotta keep the pressure on! And even if that day comes, Third Sis, you'd still have my back, right?"
Blood Three was speechless. Her gaze then fell on Jing Shaoyu, a flicker of surprise in her eyes, though her tone remained stern. "A newcomer? And a Titled Douluo! Blood Eight, what's going on?"
"Yes, that's why I gathered you all," Blood Eight said. "This is the first time in years someone with Titled Douluo strength has come up the mountain on their own. I wasn't sure how to handle it, so I brought him here first."
"That is indeed a problem," Blood Three mused, her expression conflicted as she studied Jing Shaoyu. "Though he is quite good-looking."
"Greetings, seniors." Jing Shaoyu remained composed under Blood Three's scrutiny. From her, he sensed a familiar aura. Combined with the information Ya Li had shared, he was almost certain of her identity.
"No need for formalities," Blood Three said with a smile. "Since you chose to come to the Blood God Legion, you must know some inside details. So relax—we're different from other legions here. Far fewer restrictions."
Here, only strength matters, not age. Though you look very young, you are after all a Titled Douluo, just like us. Who knows, in a while you might be calling me Third Sister, hahaha!"
Listening to Blood Three's words, Jing Shaoyu felt speechless. If he dared call her sister, Yun Ming would definitely break her legs.
So he quickly changed the subject, shifting his gaze to the other two people. "How should I address these two seniors?"
"Blood Five!" Blood Five was a burly man with dark skin and a robust build. Standing motionless, he resembled a black iron tower—imposing, steady, with a mountain-like aura. His voice matched this perfectly, deep and resonant.
"I'm Blood Six." Blood Six was also a man, but compared to the human-shaped iron tower that was Blood Five, he appeared utterly ordinary, with a harmless demeanor and a warm smile. Yet beneath his gentle temperament lurked a sharp edge!
He was a classic Agility-attack system Soul Master!
Leaning closer to Jing Shaoyu with a familiar air, he said, "Brother, where are you from? You look so young—how do you maintain yourself? Teach this old man, won't you?"
"Do you think I even need maintenance?" Jing Shaoyu flashed a confident smile. "And it's not that I look young—I really am young!"
Blood Six froze for a moment before breaking into an amused grin. "Hahaha, interesting, very interesting. Then, brother, may I ask how old you are?"
"Just turned twenty," Jing Shaoyu replied with a laugh.
The hall fell dead silent. Blood Three, Blood Five, Blood Six, Blood Seven, and Blood Eight all stared at Jing Shaoyu in stunned disbelief, their eyes filled with skepticism and doubt, though some also held traces of astonishment and scrutiny.
"Brother, stop joking. That's not funny at all!" Blood Six's smile faded as he said, "There's no way someone could become a Titled Douluo at twenty!"
"Before the Skycrossing Douluo emerged, no one believed someone could become a Titled Douluo at twenty-three either!" Jing Shaoyu countered cheerfully.
"Are you saying you're even more impressive than the Skycrossing Douluo?" Blood Five immediately scowled at the comparison. "Such arrogance!"
Blood Three's gaze toward Jing Shaoyu also cooled slightly, though unlike Blood Five, she didn't lash out directly. Instead, she offered a gentle reminder, "Friend, after joining the corps, there's a basic inspection. We don't have age restrictions."
"Hey, brother, age isn't important," Blood Six interjected quickly, sensing the tension. "Where are you from, anyway?"
Just as Jing Shaoyu was about to answer, five more people emerged from the elevator. Leading them was an elderly man whose entire body radiated peculiar energy fluctuations, as though he were immersed in the elements themselves. His face was aged, his hair white, but his eyes were strikingly clear—a peculiar shade of jade green.
The two in the middle were actually generals. The one on the left had a tall, slender build and handsome features, with not a trace of Soul Power detectable—he seemed like an ordinary person. But Jing Shaoyu knew this was a sign of cultivation reaching the pinnacle, just like Yun Ming. The one on the right was a middle-aged man with a dignified and amiable appearance, exuding an approachable warmth like a tranquil lake.
These two were undoubtedly the highest-ranking leaders of the Blood God Legion.
Behind them was a middle-aged man with a gentle and amiable demeanor, appearing like a kind-hearted gentleman.
Bringing up the rear was a handsome young man who looked to be in his thirties.
Upon their arrival, all four turned their gazes toward Jing Shaoyu. He stood out conspicuously as the only outsider present—how could he not draw attention?
"Why is there a young man here?" the leading elder asked curiously. "Third Sister, Little Eight, what's going on?"
"Indeed, when did we get an extra Titled Douluo? Even I, as the Legion Commander, don't recognize him. How strange," the middle-aged general added.
The young general remained silent, simply observing Jing Shaoyu with a thoughtful gleam in his eyes.
"Second Brother, Legion Commander, he just enlisted today. Little Eight wasn't sure how to assign him, so she called us together to discuss it," Blood Three explained before introducing them to Jing Shaoyu. "This is Blood Two, and this is our Blood God Legion's Commander, Federation General Zhang Huanyun."
"Greetings, sir!" Jing Shaoyu saluted Zhang Huanyun upon hearing this.
"Hello," Zhang Huanyun replied, studying Jing Shaoyu with deep curiosity. "What's your name? Who referred you here?"
"Jing Shaoyu, the current leader of the Shrek Seven Monsters, correct?" The young general beside Zhang Huanyun spoke up, revealing Jing Shaoyu's identity in one sentence, causing Blood Three and Blood Five to widen their eyes in surprise.
"You must be His Excellency, the Heartless Douluo!" Jing Shaoyu said with a smile.
"Here, I am Xue Yi!" Cao Dezhi declared, motioning for everyone to sit. "Everyone, take a seat. This matter isn't something that can be explained in just a few words."
