Chapter 127 - Bringing In More Help

The conference of the guardians went on for a good three hours; discussing, planning…a lot was there to discuss. Sample blueprints for the planned devices were shown and the audience were given opportunities to weigh in and suggest any changes or enhancements. After another hour, the meeting was finally coming to an end.

"As I mentioned before, we've managed to pick up floating vessels in deep space on our scans. They appear to be the remnant of Mamon's armada that was unfortunate enough to be hit by the antimatter wave. If we are able to scavenge those, we should be able to reengineer them to suit our purposes. If nothing else, they can serve as raw materials for other projects", Dr. Emmanuel Michelson explained.

"That's right! Besides, if we are lucky, we may find one with still functioning system so as to allow as gleam a little information about Mamon and his armada. In the case where no such luck exists, being from an alien origin that is quite advanced alone, makes even the scraps quite valuable in serving our needs", his brother Hezekiah corroborated.

"If there is no objection, we'll prepare a team for the retrieval mission once the meeting ends", Samuel declared putting the topic to rest.

"Moving on, the topic of materials, I believe we can get all other required materials from the government. This is a situation that affects all, I don't believe they will hold anything back from us. We should be able to access all the classified devices and materials. I'll reach out to the Whitehouse as soon as we exit this place. Also, we will definitely have to bring in the military and police as well, as we need them present to ensure the protection of the citizens", Emmanuel divulged.

"If there isn't any other question, this meeting will be adjourned. Everyone has their task to fulfil so let's get to work", Samuel said as he ended the meeting.

With the meeting over, Drogo and his pack were allowed to return to the forest to prep the rest of their pack and any other combat ready creature.

Ang-Streum and his aides were tasked to lead the team that was responsible for scavenging the parts of the armada that survived the anti-matter wave. They put on specialized space suits that allowed for space walking and used the warp gate for a one-way trip there.

Once there, they quickly assembled a second warp gate and linked it with another that was set up in a prepared large warehouse deep underground. These new warp gates had been specially made to stay open semi-permanently and prevent the vacuum of space on one end of the tunnel from affecting the other end.

The task was carried out surprisingly fast; faster than planned, as Ang-Streum used his power to draw in all the wreckages from miles away, leaving his team to focus on the transfer through the tunnel without having to constantly change locations to gather more.

Within two hours, all the usable remnants were successfully transferred and were currently being analyzed for any potential risk to humans by Lisia. After the all-clear was given, the scientists and engineers tasked with handling it got to work sorting them out and categorizing the parts with aid from Ang-Streum's aides.

"We also need to get moving. Every second is precious", Emmanuel said as he Samuel and Silendiana, in their suits, waked towards the original warp gate.

...….

In the Sienna Metropolis Police Department, work was progressing as usual. A few were currently in the breakroom partaking in the donuts the sergeant had brough in that morning. Some sat behind their desks either preparing their reports or taking the statements of people while others brought in apprehended violators for processing.

As the hall bustled with activity, the space in the center suddenly fluctuated as the air literally cracked. The crack opened up until a wormhole three meters wide and tall. All those close to it fell to the ground in shock and fear of what they were seeing.

The wormhole fluctuated as three figures with scary appearances emerged out of it. The pressure in the room grew dense as the figures stepped out and the wormhole disappeared.

The veteran police quickly recovered and all though still terrified, drew out their weapons nonetheless. "Hold it right there! Identify yourselves! If you move, we will open fire!" the closest officer shouted while still shaking in his boots.

Samuel turned his head towards the officer, his slitted eyes glowing faintly with a red hue. The sight alone terrified the officer so much that it caused him to fall back unconscious, foaming at the mouth. The other officers got scared and a few opened fire on them.

Silendiana held up a hand and stopped all the bullets mid-air.

"Hold your fire!! Stop shooting you idiots!!" an order resounded in the room stunning the officers who quickly stopped firing and turned towards the voice. "Are you all insane…have you all been hiding under rocks all this time? How could you not recognize our benefactor?" the voice turned out to be Sergeant Richards.

Silendiana flicked her wrists down causing all the trapped bullets to fall onto the ground loudly. "Please allow me to apologize on their behalf. Since the quake that happened a while ago, they've all been quite jumpy", the Sergeant said as he approached the group.

Emmanuel stepped forward and met him in a handshake. "Don't worry about it. We were in no danger. I take it you received my message?" Emmanuel asked. "Yes…we were expecting you. We just didn't expect you to appear out of thin air like you did", Sergeant Richards pointed out as he led the way towards the inner part of the department.

...….

Samuel, Emmanuel and Silendiana were led into the police Chief's office. "Chief…we have special guests", the Sergeant said after knocking on the frame of the open door. "Right…let them in", the chief said as he stood to his feet in welcome.

"I am police chief Carl Turkson. I'm honored to make your acquaintance", the chief said as he shook hands with Samuel. "Same", Samuel said as the chief pointed to the chairs in the office implying for them to sit.

The police chief had a grim face as he was briefed on the current situation. Sweat poured down his beard after realizing the severity of the situation.

"So…in order for us guardians to focus on repelling the enemy, we seek the assistance of the police to safeguard the citizens of the city. There is the sure chance of panic and chaos, but we hope with your help there will still be a semblance of order", Samuel finished his debrief.

"This is a lot to process but I understand it vaguely. I'm grateful you chose to let us know. Now we can make proper preparations to protect the lives of as many citizens as possible", the chief said in gratitude. "We need to report to the military as well. We will leave you to start making your preparations", Dr. Michelson said as they rose to their feet. After shaking their hands in goodbye, the chief escorted them back to the hall.

Samuel lifted his palm and the space before him cracked and opened into a wormhole, stunning everyone even the chief. "We'll take our leave now", Samuel said as he and his comrades walked through the wormhole and it closed behind them.
