Chapter 548 - First Floor

The lower level of Snowpoint Temple, first floor.

"Flash." John snapped his fingers.

A dazzling sun immediately rose in the dark corridor, illuminating the entire passage.

Different from the upper level of Snowpoint Temple, the lower level had no torches and no windows. It was a true underground palace. The surrounding temperature also showed a significant drop.

Walking to a fork in the road.

"It seems we'll have to split up," Irida said, looking at the three dark corridors.

Adaman looked at John.

"Akari and I are going this way," John said matter-of-factly.

He'd already anticipated what Irida and Adaman were thinking.

It was impossible for the Pearl and Diamond Clans to explore Snowpoint Temple to protect the ruins. People in ancient times didn't have that concept.

Exploring Snowpoint Temple, what they naturally sought were the treasures within the temple.

The so-called "treasures" referred not only to rare Pokemon items, powerful Pokemon were also a type of treasure.

The Pokemon and Pokemon items on the upper five floors had been collected by John alone, with only the Pokemon on the first floor divided between the Pearl and Diamond Clans.

Now arriving at the lower level, if they acted together, the Pokemon items found would be divided into three parts. When encountering a powerful Pokemon, whoever defeated it would claim it.

Obviously, Irida and Adaman didn't want this. They preferred to distribute spoils based on merit. Everyone goes their own way.

Of course, this might be related to the fact that the Diamond and Pearl Clans didn't get along.

John was also quite happy about this. As early as when he'd entered, Gardevoir's mental power had already swept through the underground level of Snowpoint Temple. The path he chose now was a shortcut that led directly to the second underground level.

"Alright, let's split up then. I'll lead the Diamond Clan this way," Adaman said, waving to the Diamond Clan members upon seeing John agree.

"Pearl Clan, follow me," Irida called.

"Akari, let's go." John strode forward without looking back.

"Okay!" Akari hugged Pikachu and quickly followed.

After walking for about two minutes, John took out the Dowsing Machine from his backpack.

For the first time, the treasure detector's reaction confused him slightly.

The treasure detector shook left and right, so unstable that within seconds, it was spinning as fast as an electric fan.

"Are there so many treasures of the same quality here?" John was somewhat surprised.

With a gesture, Gardevoir appeared out of thin air beside him.

Gardevoir's mental power unfolded, she pulled her hands, and a three-dimensional underground palace model appeared.

A large number of Pokemon that looked like golems were standing all over the underground palace.

"There are golems everywhere?" John wondered.

Although golems like Regirock were created by Regigigas, they weren't the only such Pokemon. But the number couldn't be that large, right?

John did a rough count and found there were more than 70 golems on just the first floor of Snowpoint Temple.

If there were so many on the second floor too—

Golems would be way too common.

"Let's find a golem," John said thoughtfully as he walked forward.

Akari blinked her big eyes and silently watched John's operations.

She didn't understand and didn't dare to ask.

Just silently curious in her heart.

What kind of place was the Hoenn Region?

Soon, John found a golem.

A golem that resembled Regirock. The difference was that its head wasn't inlaid with several beads arranged in a pattern.

What caught John's attention even more was that there was no level displayed above its head.

This meant it might not be a Pokemon.

"Gardevoir!" John commanded casually.

The next second, Gardevoir's mental power exploded.

The golem that looked similar to Regirock didn't display the same defensive power as Regirock. On the contrary, it was as soft as sand and deformed under Gardevoir's Confusion like clay.

In the end, it was even crushed into powder by Gardevoir and scattered on the ground.

From the scattered powder, a bright bead caught John's attention.

He leaned over and picked it up.

The familiar texture and energy all indicated its identity.

Pearl of Origin!

It's just that this Pearl of Origin was pitifully small, even smaller than the Pearl of Origin John had taken from Regirock that he'd captured on the second level.

The treasure detector's abnormal behavior could be explained.

Although these Pearls of Origin weren't large, due to their extremely powerful energy, they were still legendary Pokemon items no matter how small they were.

There were more than 70 golems scattered on the first floor of the underground palace of Snowpoint Temple, which meant there were at least 70 legendary Pokemon items scattered around.

If there was a second floor—

No wonder the treasure detector spun like an electric fan.

"Gardevoir, defeat all the golems on the first floor of the underground palace and bring over the Pearls of Origin from their bodies," John ordered directly.

Although he didn't know what the Pearls of Origin were used for, since they were legendary Pokemon items, he wouldn't miss them, and he wouldn't give them to the Diamond or Pearl Clans.

All must be claimed!

After receiving the order, Gardevoir's eyes flashed with dazzling light, her mental power spread like a tide and rioted!

At the same time.

"Flareon, use Flamethrower!"

"Woo!"

Scorching firelight condensed into a flame pillar and bombarded the golem similar to Regice.

The ice-crystal body collapsed.

"Got it!" Irida threw a Pokeball, thinking at the same time: 'If the wild one alone has such powerful abilities, then if I train it, wouldn't it become even stronger?'

'It would definitely be able to crush that stone-head!'

But soon something unexpected happened.

Her Pokeball landed on the golem just like falling on ordinary ice crystals, making a crisp "bang" sound, then bounced away.

"This... isn't this a Pokemon?" Irida was immediately dumbfounded.

As if to confirm what she said, liquid melted by Flamethrower appeared near the fallen ice crystal body. The liquid condensed into ice crystals again as the temperature dropped.

She was stunned.

The one she'd struggled to defeat wasn't a Pokemon.

"Forget it, let's move on," Irida had no choice but to call her companions to continue forward.

No one noticed that a bead similar to ice crystals quietly disappeared from the body of the fallen Regice-like golem.

The same thing happened with the Diamond Clan.

After Adaman defeated a golem, he tried to capture it but found he couldn't. This puzzled him for a long time, he'd seen John capturing the golems with Sabi.

Why could John capture them, but they couldn't?

After trying a few more times, Adaman could only continue forward with his companions.

As for the Pearl of Origin inside the golem, it had long since disappeared.
