Cough cough cough.
The sound of someone coughing was heard through the sandstorm, along with the smoke and dust from the explosion that began to disperse, revealing a crater in the sand where a person lay that couldn't exactly be called human. Aside from the lack of any blood, the body parts looked human, but what can be seen can be described as a human-sized doll that has been torn apart, with its appendages still connected to the torso by grey tendrils. The head and torso are still intact and connected, but the arms and legs are not connected to the torso. They are scattered around the body, and they are also broken apart into several sections. What connects them together, and to the torso, are the gray tendrils that seem to seep out of everywhere from the body.
Kakuzu coughed as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. His vision is very blurry, and his ears are ringing wildly. He tried to move but couldn't, as he could feel that his limbs weren't directly attached to his body.
He didn't know what exactly happened. One moment, a clone of that brat dispelled for no apparent reason, then a moment later, a loud bang, and everything goes white.
He knows that something exploded near him, but he can't figure out what and how. All he knows is that he was lucky enough to have reinforced the earth jutsu on his skin, or he would have been blown to bits.
Doton: Domu (Earth Style: Iron Skin)
An earth release jutsu that reinforces the user's skin, making it noticeably darker the more you push chakra into it. this allows the user to easily be able to withstand most attacks with little to no damage. While its direct counter is Lightning Release, none was used. It should also withstand explosions to a certain degree, but multiple explosions in such close proximity can surely affect the user.
Kakuzu tried to control his tendrils so he could reattach his limbs, but his body ached with protest. That explosion took too much out of him, and his chakra reserves were nearly depleted. He gritted his teeth as he forced the tendrils to move because he knew he wasn't out of the woods yet. He needs to move quickly, as he no longer has the protection of the Earth Jutsu due to insufficient chakra.
Squelch
Kakuzu let out a muffled, pained breath as he felt his chest being pierced, with his torso jolting before lying still.
He looked up with his vision clearing just a bit to see red hair and a pair of cold blue eyes looking at him as their owner held a katana that pointed downwards and into his chest, where his heart is.
'Of course he did, who was I kidding?' Kakuzu thought as his vision darkened.
No good Shinobi will let his opponent recover.

Naruto kept his eyes locked on Kakuzu's form, who was now completely still, void of any signs of life. He was alone as the clone that breathed out the fire dragon dispelled after completing the jutsu.
Kakuzu's torn body was naked. The clones' explosions had destroyed all of his clothing, with only his headband partially intact nearby. Naruto was astonished that he was still alive and his body still intact, even though it was in pieces, but he attributed that to the earth jutsu protecting him.
Those exploding clones were an idea that came to him when he was experimenting with fuinjutsu to make a stronger paper bomb. He used shadow clones to test out the concept, as he feared that trying to draw something volatile as a new and untested stronger paper bomb, would be dangerous. Which indeed served to be true as the first draft of the seal exploded violently in the face of the clone.
Weirdly enough, seeing his clone in that explosion gave him the idea of the exploding clone jutsu
It isn't different from shadow clones; it is just the clone using the chakra it was given to form the explosion, which differs in magnitude depending on how much chakra the clone has. That, however, leads to no chakra or memories returning to the user. This is truly a blessing, as Naruto wouldn't want the memories of a clone of himself blowing itself up.
He didn't like that feeling at all, especially after what happened a while ago. (refer to Chapter 67)
Naruto pulled out his Katana from Kakuzu's chest, and for the first time, Naruto saw Kakuzu bleed. The tip of the Katana had blood on it, which Naruto flicked away before sheathing the Katana in the sheath on his back.
Suddenly, Naruto blinked; a second later, his head turned quickly towards the direction where his other clones should be battling the masked creatures, only to see that the yellow-colored mask creature was just a few feet away from him with its tendrils shooting towards Naruto at breakneck speed.
Naruto jumped to the side just in time to dodge the attack.
'How are they still moving?' Naruto thought to himself, getting ready to fight the masked creature, only to find it pushing its tendrils into Kakuzu's body.
Naruto had no time to see what it was doing, as he had to dodge an incoming wind attack from the creature with the light blue-colored mask, which was accompanied by the creature with the red mask.
Naruto looked at them, expecting follow-up attacks, only to find them standing guard on Kakuzu's body, where the yellow-colored mask creature had disappeared inside.
From the memories of the last clones, those creatures had turned feral when Kakuzu fell, attacking fiercely and dispelling the clones as they rushed towards Kakuzu's body.
And here they are, the red and light blue creatures merging into one, while the one inside Kakuzu seemed to be moving around in his chest.
Kakuzu's chest jolted a couple of times before his limbs started to be pulled back towards his torso.
"You have got to be kidding me," Naruto muttered with a voice filled with disbelief as he saw Kakuzu sit.
'Can he still be classified as a human?' Kurumi said with the same tone.
Kakuzu let out a chuckle as he started to stand up.
"You are one interesting brat. Very few had ever done this to me." Kakuzu said as he fully stood.
Naruto looked at Kakuzu without knowing what to say. There was the man who he had just plunged his katana into his heart a minute ago. Now standing up alive and well.
And fully naked.
Something was pushed out from Kakuzu's body before falling on the ground and staining the sand red with blood.
Naruto eyed the pierced organ for a moment before looking back at Kakuzu and the merged creature behind him.
'These creatures contain…hearts?' Naruto thought to himself, trying to figure out if the person in front of him really had 5 hearts in his body.
"I would have loved to take your heart. It would have been a very fine addition to my collection. Sadly, I need you alive." Kakuzu said as his stitched mouth grinned savagely.
It wasn't over
