The day of the Finals, Kumo Arena;
The arena seats are packed with spectators talking to each other while waiting for the matches to begin. The sound of their mutters filled the air.
In the participants' area, the three participating genin teams stood near each other, waiting with anxiety, excitement, and anticipation for the matches to start.
"You ready, Anko?" Naruto asked his teammate.
"I was born ready. I can't wait for my match," Anko replied with an excited smile, which Naruto returned, but on the inside, there was a different story.
Naruto is a bit worried about Anko's match. The ban on summons use affects Anko's jutsu arsenal greatly. Accompanied by her hot-headed attitude and impulsiveness, it's no wonder Naruto is worried.
Anko has good Taijutsu, a few Earth Release jutsu, and different types of poison, but all this may not be of great use in her first match. The concern about her first opponent is that he is really a candidate for the seven swordsmen of the mist. If that is true, then Anko is in for a hard time.
The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist are well known for their ruthlessness. Their use of swordsmanship, silent killing techniques, fatal and precise strikes, and mist for cover, along with water release jutsu, makes them a deadly adversary. Their candidates are trained in all of this as soon as they are selected.
Naruto hopes everything goes well.
In Kage booth;
Hiruzen sat on a comfortable chair that overlooked the whole arena with Tsunade and Jiraiya standing right behind him.
His eyes looked around the arena before stopping on the Genin. He smiled slightly upon spotting Naruto.
His eyes turned to his side as he heard the door to the booth open with A and Bee entering.
"Anbu," A called as he sat down on his chair with Bee standing behind him
An Anbu operative appeared kneeling beside him before saying: "Orders, Raikage-sama?"
"Tell Isamu that we will start shortly." A said, to which the Anbu nodded before disappearing.
"Isn't The Mizukage coming?" Hiruzen asked A with a raised eyebrow.
A scowled before saying: "He didn't come to Kumo. He didn't even reply to the invitation."
"Well, since the end of the last war, the situation inside the land of water is unclear," Hiruzen said, to which A grunted in agreement as he stood up and walked to the edge of the balcony of the booth when he spotted Isamu enter the Arena fighting grounds.
Seeing the Raikage's arrival and standing up, the crowds quickly quieted down to hear what he was about to say.
"I welcome all those who are here today to witness the finals of this Chunin exams. I hope that you enjoy today's spectacle. May the finals begin." A said before returning to his seat as the crowd turned toward the fighting grounds
"Thank you, Raikage-sama. Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Isamu, and I welcome you all today to watch the final of the Chunin exam." Isamu said with a raised voice, making the crowd buzz with excitement
"I will not keep you waiting. The first match will start shortly." Isamu said, increasing the excitement in the crowd.
"I call for Naruto of Konoha and Samui of Kumo to come down and enter the fighting grounds," Isamu said, looking at where the participants are.
As Naruto and Samui enter the fighting grounds, cheers and boos can be heared from the excited crowds. The boos were directed at Naruto upon hearing where he is from as the crushing majority of the crowd are from Kumo.
In the Daimyo booth;
"Hoho, so that is Naruto? Seems like a capable young lad." The fire Daimyo said with a slightly surprised tone.
He sat comfortably with his trusty handheld fan in his hand; he was accompanied by the lightning Daimyo, with no other Daimyo attending.
"You know him?" The Lightning Daimyo asked
"Not personally. But my wife has nothing but good things to say about the boy." The fire daimyo replied.
Kage Booth;
The atmosphere was silent, but you could feel the tension in it. The first match is a Konoha and Kumo genin facing each other. No pressure.
Tsunade had a blank face as she looked at the match that was about to start. She wished that she could cheer for her son, but that would cause problems.
'Go on, Naru. Beat up that Kumo hussy.' She cheered in her mind while remembering the Kumo genin to be one of those three Kumo girls her son had talked to before.
The fighting grounds;
Naruto's eyes studied Samui, who stood opposite him. She was wearing the same outfit he had seen her in before, the only difference being that there was a standard-issue katana strapped to her back.
'It seems that Kumo focuses a lot on Kenjutsu.' Naruto thought to himself.
A lot of the shinobi he saw in Kumo, no matter the rank, had a Katana.
"Are you two ready?" Isamu asked
"Yes," Both genin replied
"First match of the Finals. Hajime 'start'" Isamu announced, stepping away while the audience burst into cheers.
As soon as the match started, Naruto and Samui dashed towards each other while taking out a Kunai, which threw a few sparks due to the force of the moment of contact between each other.

A/N: This was a very exhausting week, it was the wrong week to attempt daily uploads. I had a lot on my plate from the university and this fanfiction. If I counted how many words I wrote this week, it would be 20,000 words, if not more. From this fanfiction to university reports, assignments, projects, and essays. Along with classes i had to attend and quizzes. You get the idea.
I kept my word and uploaded a chapter every day this week. However, next week I will be taking a break from posting here, as many of my university deadlines are due, and my finals are in three weeks.
In this period, I will post but not as intensively as before.
